Just went onto YouTube and watched highlights of the top 6 players listed in this site: www.nfldraftbuzz.com/positions/WR/1/2023. I watched highlights from Sick EditzHD for all six players to keep the content consistent. Based on those highlights, I think Flowers is the only one who really jumps off the screen. He stands out compared to every other player on the field. His size isn’t ideal in the traditional sense, but his shiftiness and route running are top notch. I also like what I saw from Addison. He looks real smooth in his routes and has some shiftiness himself. Very well rounded. Johnston and Hyatt were both fun to watch. Johnston looks bigger and stronger than the defenders he faced, and Hyatt looked like an ideal deep threat. Neither looked as polished as Flowers or Addison but it’s hard to tell after a 5 minute highlight reel. There may not be the elite WR1 in this draft but there seems to be some talent. At #25, I’d be fine with either of these four players.

Off the top of my head: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State
Jordan Addison, WR, USC Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College Ohio State 2021 WRs - Chris Olave: 107 tgt, 68 rec, 1,040 yds, 13 TD, 2.44 yards/route ran, 63% contested catch rate - Garrett Wilson: 107 tgt, 72 rec, 1,055 yds, 12 TD, 2.86 Y/RR, 57% contested - Jaxon Smith-Njigba: 114 tgt, 96 rec, 1,605 yds, 9 TD, 3.88 Y/RR, 90% contested I think JSN could be a true #1 WR in the NFL. Been watching more of his film and he has it all. Best route runner in the draft. Incredible hands. Makes contested catches routinely and creates separation. Forces missed tackles. Great YAC ability. Listed at 6'1" 205lbs, but the combine measurements havent been done yet. I think he is a little smaller. 6'0" 195lbs wouldn't surprise me. Im hearing the Cowboys are high on him, of course.

Damn, that's some good company right there. Like Blue Hulk said, it's all about medical analysis. Dude has tons of talent, best route runner in the class, outstanding hands, excellent body control. Kind of reminds me of Jarvis Landry

If he didn't have YUGE red flags with his injuries, he'd be a top 10 pick, maybe top 5

Wide receivers ran slower and measuring smaller than most expected.

Sounded like the drill session with catching went better for the WRs.

I thought Smith-Njigba looked really impressive and smooth in the drills. I wish he ran the 40 but I thought the drill work stood out.
Last year's Rooke of The Year was a teammate of his on Ohio States and called Smith-Njigba the better player.

He isnt a "burner". I bet he runs a 4.5 something. That said, he is my #1 WR right now. Kid can play.

Jerry Rice had a 40 time of 4.71.

Jerry Rice had a 40 time of 4.71. Thats a bit of a myth. All accounts from scouts had him clocked in the mid 4.5s Also, guys are running the 40 alot faster now than back then.. 1987 first year combine was in indy (rice combine was in tempe outdoors), for example, three guys ran under a 4.4. Last year’s combine there was about 25 guys under 4.4.

Are they faster, game-speed? Probably, but my point that I was getting to was that Jerry Rice running a high 4.5 back then wasnt bad compared to his peers, however, a high 4.5 now would be a pretty slow time.

One of my favorite options if we don’t land one of the top dogs or trade for one before the draft. Route technician especially for his size. He will make an impact day 1
