Gardy Pros - Speed, defense, arm accuracy, personality Cons - Age, hitting, not the strongest arm, doesn't use speed to steal bases At this point Brett is a 4th OFer at best, pinch runner. Since we already have Clint Frazier and Jacoby Ellsbury (pinch runner), I dont think it was a good signing. This was one of those feel good sentimental signings like Pedroia for the Red Sox (but only 1 year and cheaper). The worst part about it is it wastes a roster spot on the 25. This signing doesnt make the team better. Gardner(Frazier)-Hicks(Ellsbury)-Judge(Stanton) At this point he’s a 4th OF? That’s what he was at his peak. Now he’s an aging $8mm mascot. Say what you want about the Yanks, they take care of their own. And that’s not a bad thing at all.

makes sense, kraken would have been my 2nd guess If I took a guess, they probably wanted Sevy, Sanchez and two of these six prospects: 1. Judge 2. Torres 3. Frazier 4. Sheffield 5. Miggy 6. Bird I agree with Cashman.

Gary Sanchez to undergo surgery on left shoulder. Catcher will miss at least three months, expected to be ready for start of season. NEW YORK -- Gary Sanchez is scheduled to have surgery on his left shoulder this week, and the Yankees' catcher is expected to be ready for Opening Day, Brian Cashman said on Wednesday at the General Managers Meetings in Carlsbad, Calif. The procedure to remove debris from the AC joint of Sanchez's non-throwing shoulder will be performed by Yankees team physician Dr. Christopher Ahmad. Cashman estimated that Sanchez will need three months for a full recovery. "It may very well be something that affected him performance-wise," Cashman said. "I can't rule that out. Now is the time to take care of it." www.mlb.com/yankees/news/gary-sanchez-needs-left-shoulder-surgery/c-300406460

Agent lays it out: How Bryce Harper becomes a Yankee. CARLSBAD, Calif. — Brian Cashman wouldn’t bite. That doesn’t mean that Scott Boras won’t stop fishing. The super-agent, in an interview with MLB Network Radio on Tuesday, floated the notion that his top free agent, Bryce Harper, could shift from outfield to first base. That musing seemed designed for the Yankees, whose first-base situation remains unsettled as their outfield appears sufficiently stocked. “Bryce has the feet, hands and skill to certainly adapt to first base,” Boras said. At the general managers’ meetings — where Boras is expected to address the media on Wednesday — Cashman smiled and said, “I don’t know” when asked whether Harper could handle such a transition. “Obviously he’s extremely talented and athletic,” Cashman said. “We’ll assess everything in the marketplace and how it might fit us,” Cashman continued. “I haven’t talked to Scott yet, but I try to talk to everybody while I’m here.” nypost.com/2018/11/07/agent-adds-a-yankees-aimed-wrinkle-to-bryce-harper-chatter/

I can't imagine Scott Bora$$ getting Harper signed before Christmas, let alone before Thanksgiving.

A few new tidbits:
- Yankees interested in James Paxton - My opinion? Great player, but cant be expected to get 30 starts. Seems injured ever year. Our luck, he would blow out his arm and need TJ year 1. He will also cost a ton as a trade. You could probably pair him and CC and get your full season.
- Keuchel would shave iconic beard to join Yankees - My opnion? Too late on him. He still might be able to put up some good numbers but overall he is not the same pitcher he was 2-3 years ago. He would be a FA signing however. I wouldnt hate it if his contract was reasonable, but he isnt anything more than a mid rotation guy now.
- A's interested in Sonny Gray - My opinion? Take him. Please. Yanks need to trade him for any value they can get. He would go back to Oakland and be a serviceable pitcher for them without the NY pressure. Try to get Fowler back to replace Gardner.

Miggy gets hosed. Ohtani won the ROY award. Total bull shit. 297 batting average, 27 homeruns, over 90 rbi’s and 47 doubles. Thats all star numbers, let alone rookie of the year. Guess the voters didn’t want a Yankee to win it 2 years in a row.

I don't know the totals, but it was considered to be a two man race between Andujar and Ohtani, since Gleyber went into a slump that began in August.

If Torres doesn’t get hurt and miss time he wins the award easily. It's amazing how missing over 60 games didn't hurt Ohtani's chances of winning the ROY award. He pitched a few games, so in the voters eyes he’s the modern Babe Ruth. If the kid didn’t pitch the voters would of had to pick one of the Yankees. This was a joke, I strongly believe they didn’t want a Yankee to win back to back. What next Khris Davis wins the MVP?

Andujar got absolutely hosed in the ROY voting. Ohtani missed about 2 months and STILL won? WTF Ohtani had 367 at bats to Andujar's 573, yet struck out 102 times, and Andujar struck 97 times in 200 extra at bats.

Whenever the race is close the Yankees ALWAYS get hosed. Oh another thing, Andujar kept his team in the postseason run all year, at times by himself while Ohtani was just DHing for a lifeless Angels team.
