Lets look at the NY sports season the Yankees have been eliminated from the playoffs, the Mets are a dumpster fire. Our hockey teams the Rangers and Islanders look to be very much the same as the previous few years. The jets are a rebuild, and our beloved Giants are a fiasco. And now God help us all the Knicks are starting their season tonight (Wednesday). Thank God I'm seeing my cardiologist Monday.

The nets season starts tonight too. They're in a good game against Detroit. Caris LeVert is going to be a breakout player for them.

No one wants to talk about Caris LeVert hitting that game winner against the Knicks? He is going to be a breakout player for BK.

I think now would be a good time for some of you to come over to the BK Nets bandwagon. Better ownership, better players, a better coach, and a better future with two max spots in upcoming free agency. Brooklyn, we go hard!!

Knicks, can get back to playoff contenders with some key trades. 1] Trade Pozingis and Kantor to Pelicans for Davis and J. Randle. Then trade Nkilina to Dallas for [ unhappy] D.Scott. Then if they get the NO.1 pick Zion if not a point guard.

A true fan live through the tough times so when winning comes back. The fruit is that much sweeter.

There is no chance in hell of the Knicks getting Anthony Davis via a trade unless they get the 1st pick in the lottery and offer that and Porzingis. Zion is going to be the first pick. Book it. RJ Barrett would be a nice consolation prize if they get the 2nd pick. Both are A+ NBA prospects.

I'm a Nets fan and understand your pain totally. However, we are trending up for the reasons I mentioned.

NOLA ,choice take the offer or he walks and gets NADA.

Knicks trading Zing to Mavs... Disgusting. For Jordan and Smith Jr. The Knicks could have had Smith Jr in the draft instead Phil (idiot) Jackson drafted the Belgium mistake in Ntilikina. The Knicks are making sure they have the worst run franchise solidified all to themselves.

The trade also includes the Knicks sending Courtney Lee and Tim Hardaway Jr. to the Mavericks in return for Wesley Matthews, Dennis Smith Jr. and DeAndre Jordan, league sources told Wojnarowski. The deal may also include draft assets, sources said.
I hope the Knicks remain the worst franchise in sports for the next 20 years. They deserve it. They just traded their life for a couple of donuts.

The trade can turn out good. IF: 1) The two first round picks, from Dallas. Is it Lottery protected ? 2) They have too sign Irving and (or) Durant. I don't want Butler. I wanted A. Davis but Pelicans, did not (ESPN) want Porzingis. 3) Knicks win the first round pick in the draft. Zion to Knicks.

I don't think it's a bad trade. Porzingis scares me that he's another bad injury waiting to happen. 2 first rounders, Dennis Smith Jr. and a bunch of cap space for a terrible team. Porzingis is only under Dallas(or Knicks for that matter) control through next season and then he'll be a UFA. He was restricted for Knicks and was going to demand max coming off an injury. I like Porzingis, but common sense says this isn't a bad deal by any means. If they could be lucky enough to land Zion and 2 max FA's they'll be much more legit than they would have been with a health compromised Porzingis.

After years of plotting to build a franchise around Kristaps Porzingis, the Knicks suddenly shifted directions and in a stunning move dealt Porzingis, along with Tim Hardaway Jr., Courtney Lee and Trey Burke to the Mavericks, the team announced Thursday evening.
The Knicks acquired DeAndre Jordan, Wesley Matthews Jr., Dennis Smith Jr. and two future first-round draft picks. But what they are really getting is cap space to make a huge play in the upcoming free-agent market.
----------
The Knicks are freeing up all this space for exactly the no-one who wants to come to the NYK and play... lol. No FA will go to the Knicks to try to win. Only for money. And you wont win with those guys. Why would any star player want to go to a gutted Knicks team? A team that hasn't been consistently good in 20 years... A team that has one of if not the worst owner in all of sports?
Get outa here...

Trade the face of your franchise for expiring contracts? If they don't sign two max FAs this trade is one of the stupidest things I've seen since Isaiah Thomas was in charge.
The two #1s are years away and the Mavericks will be good. Plus who the hell wants to come to the Knicks?

Anthony Davis already pinpointed the Knicks as a team he would instantly sign his max extension with. You put KD and AD on the Knicks and they probably go to the Finals immediately. If they are targeting 2, those are the 2 in my opinion. Not Irving. Also, one of KD's best friends on the planet is a Knicks special assistant. I'm just pointing these things out. The Knicks can't suck for eternity, eventually something has to work out.

Or at least wouldnt mind it. KD and AD are very tough sells. That is going to take some monumental convincing. I havent heard anything suggesting the Knicks for AD either. I heard Milwaukee and LA. That said, if they were to get those 2 guys (KD and AD), then this move will go down in history as one of the best moves an NBA team ever made. And they instantly become favorites in the East and very watchable. Something tells me it would be Jimmy Butler though and maybe Kyrie, because, well, the Knicks.

I’m simply saying that IF they don’t get them, this is a collossal screw up. I’d be OK with AD as the #2 if that plays. I’d never want him alone, you can’t build a winner around him. I watched that fail for years with Anthony. And while I agree with the idea that they can’t suck forever, it seems logical and all, I’ve been a fan so long and have watched them for over 40 years, I think they absolutely can suck for eternity.

Every time I see the title of this thread, "The Knicks Season Starts Tonight", I was to finish it with... "aaaand its over" after the opening game. Lol
I think that was a Simpsons episode.
