Cruz's catch and run was huge as was Manningham's catch, no question. 86' also had 4th and 17. I had probably about 6-7 different catches in my mind, those 3 were all on it. Maybe a poll would have been a good call. 4th and 17.....God what a legendary Giants play. I tend to look away from the 86 team because they were just the best team. They were going to win it no matter what. I might suggest the great Mark Ingram play in the 1990 SB. That was pretty damned important. But to me...the Cruz play was it. That turned a 7-7 team....staring at being down to the Jets with 3rd and 10 at the 1.....and being eliminated with a loss......to a dynamic team that beat you with both the run and pass and played good defense. They were 7-7 and looking at a loss, and after that catch, went 6-0 and won the SB. I gotta say that the Cruz play was the biggest in Giants history. Well technically many say the play defined the team which even at 8-2 was at a crossroads elitesportsny.com/2018/07/04/greatest-4th-downs-new-york-jets-giants-history/Many think without that play ( Harry Carson being one of them ) they might not of been SB champs. It gave them the belief they were the best and went on to win out the string I tend to agree with you that they were a good team and we're not getting beat that year. But who knows I go with Bavaros play and MM catch in 2nd SB vs NE

im a big fan of Steve Smith's 3rd and 11 catch in the Superbowl in Glendale. 45 seconds remaining and he just got out of bounds at the marker to stop the clock , huge play ( and we know what came next ) yes the way he stretched and elongated himself to get past vthe marker and stay in bounds till he got past the sticks

I was there, one of the strangest things I have ever been part of. OT The crowd screaming "defense, defense" and then the Rams throw long to Anderson and he runs through the end zone and kept going right into the tunnel! 76,000 screaming fans went so quiet you could hear a pin drop!! :-/ That was the last Giants game I saw back in Giants Stadium (and never saw one in MetLife). Been to all three Giants vs Broncos games out here in Colorado. Watch us get slaughtered as the sacrificial lamb to the Bronco's new stadium home opener. Watched us get slaughtered again in 2009? Then watched us inexplicably lay one on them this past October. when was that huge comeback vs Denver? TD PASS on last play to win it??

Tough one. If you're talking about the most important "pass play". I would say Victor Cruz' 99 yard TD. That turned a season completely around. If it's just a "catch" it is probably Manningham's catch down the left sidelines in SB 46. Loved the Bavaro play. Were we down 17-0 when he made that play? I know we were down 17-0 at the half. And yes, the 86 team was not only the best Giants team of all time.....it was a top 10 all time NFL team. …..and that '86 team didn't have a great wide receiver. It was a different era and of course and the front 7 on the D was one of the best of all time but still Bobby Johnson, Lionel Manuel, Stacy Robinson, Solomon Miller and maybe McConkey too.....
