What's Beltran done since he retired to rate all this attention as a manager? Isn't this the same guy who struck out looking in game 7 of the 06' NLCS vs the Cards?

Beltran was a very good player but he'd fit what the Wilponzi's and management(Brodie Band Wagonen) want basically Mickey Calloway 2.0 someone who is only managing in theory but Brodie is really calling the shots on the field also.

Girardi 2nd interview with Phils so he won’t happen. Mets want a cheap option you can guarantee it.

I'm actually not hoping he becomes the manager, but it pisses me off when supposed Mets fans try to define him by that ab. He was a great player and a solid person.

Girardi to the Phillies.
I think that is a good hire there.
Mets should look into Cone and Beltran. And if you want a wild card, out there, AJ Hinch.

You only have to look above where I already said this would happen. Mets want a cheaper option so we will get someone else with no Manager experience. What could go wrong? Worked out great with Callaway. F*** the Wilpons.

Good for Joe. I thought he was an excellent manager here. I'm not a fan of the Phili's, so I hope he does well, but the Phili's still lose, if that's possible...

Girardi would be a good hire for any team, sad that our dysfunctional owners will never hire a strong coach like him. But dont punk us with the Cone and Beltran suggestions, we get you're a Yankees fan and love when we fail. This team needs an experienced manager to take advantage of our contracts timing and talent. This is the worst time to hire another rookie HC.

I enjoy seeing them successful. And if you are worried about non managerial experience, its the way to go these days. It doesnt mean a flop. Alex Cora, Aaron Boone, AJ Hinch, Rocco Baldelli, all guys coming in green and having success. David Ross just hired by the Cubs. Its very common in now a days baseball. I know some of you didnt lik emy idea of getting Mookie Betts, but I would still do that in a heart beat. Mookie is one of the best in baseball. They would have to figure out how to extend him a big time contract however to keep him there longer than 1 year.

I think the Mets want a new guy they can control and interfere with. And what they really need at this point is a strong experienced manager.

They'll get an Aaron Boone type guy, I frankly wish they'd just drop the pretense and put a printer in the dugout and have the GM's analytics team send the the instructions directly.

The Cubs are a good team and he got the chemistry right once. I see why they parted ways with him. Joe was released by Cashman not because of his tactics or managerial style. They clashed personality wise.

Not Mets related but i didnt see a WS thread in general sports.
Last nights win by Washington in Game 6 at Houston set a MLB record. That marked the 6th win in a row for the visiting team in a WS
I believe there have been 6 in a series prior but never 6bin a row
Washington has a chance tonight to make it 7. A record that will probably never be broken. It might be eaiser for an NFL team to go unbeaten before we see this happen again
In every major sport teams play the regular season to gain home field advantage and that advantage has meant absolutely nothing in this season
So that means in each game so far in this series the home fans who spent big dollars to see their team play all have gone home unhappy and disappointed

I started out rooting for Houston but the chance of history with 7 in a row by the away team is intriguing Plus for some reason Washington starting to grow on me... i know, i know im supposed to hate them

I'm still 100% in favor of a robotic strike zone. Some of those calls were outrageous. Both ways.
There is no need to get calls wrong anymore.
