We can blame anyone and everyone for this loss...it boils down to this team isn't that good. They just aren't...but...
I will say this...Barkley is held in the end zone in first half...no call. Beckham held in the end zone on the last drive...no call. These were blatant holds... blatant. The officiating in the NFL is absolutely horrible.... college too.
This should have been a win. You cant justify SB getting 15 touches for 170 yards in the first half and getting 4 in the second? In a game when you are protecting the lead? Seriously?
One team made adjustments at the half, one didn't. The Eagles won a SB last year more because of their coach than anything or anyone. Shurmur got out coached... again.... period.

So we blow a 19-3 lead vs Philly & people are acting shocked? Add to that the obvious home cooking calls from the refs & it's really no big surprise we lost "again" to Philly in heartbreaking fashion. Can we now finally hope that the HC starts Lauletta for the rest of the season s o we can see what we have in him. Don't wanna here " can't start him vs that Bears D" BS card. Throw his butt to the fire & see how he handles it. The OL is better now that it was a few weeks ago so he should have adequate pass pro plus unlike Eli, he is mobile & can either run for the 1st or extend the play with his legs if the protection breaks down.
I wanna see this kid QB for us the last 5 games, that should be a good enough work load for the GM/HC to assess if he's the heir apparent to Eli next yr.

I only posted 4 or five times the entire game. That’s normal for me. I usually just sit back and marvel at all the Eli hate. Yep, he lost this game all be himself. He played a huge part in the loss by his terrible decision making as usual. Let's all hope he is benched the rest of the season so we can move on. He will be and we will still suck.

Shurmur sucks donkey dick! Hand over the OC job and worry about everything else that comes with being a HC. Your play calling absolutely sucked in the second half and the red zone. Awful choke job by the Giants once again to these bums. Shurmur could’ve played not to lose tho, typical him in the second half of games. If im Mara I force him to hire an OC next season. Have we learned nothing from Mcadoo? If we’ve learned anything, it’s that Mara should not be making any football decisions at all

I agree...despite the mistakes we still could have won the game if not for his suspect play calling and bone head decisions...does anyone know why Barkley was on the sidelines for such a long stretch?

Disagree. The Giants made a halftime adjustment. They decided not to use Barkley in the second half.

3-13 is definitely a possibility again this season...if we don't like any of the QBs we can pick a top defensive prospect...although I'm not expecting too much from Lauletta I would still like to see him play at some point...

that's a wrap folks...need to re-build this D. Its terrible. Yeah, they need lotsa help... but an offense that puts up 22 is great? Yes. Because we have a TTSBCMVPQB. And don't you forget it!

You can blame Eli, deservedly so but even if you put Lauletta in you will lose games because this head coach makes decisions that will lose close games...outplayed and out coached once again... Yes, but at least it will be interesting to watch. Eli may still have an arm but I think he has lost his mind as his judgment is terrible. As a fan it has gone from exhausting to repetitive and very boring. Sad, really.

I don't think they have an agenda...just incompetent. Just curious - did the Eagles cover the spread?

I have coached many sports at many levels over several decades. Any time I have had a physical advantage or matchup advantage, I don't come off attacking it until the other side shows definitively that they can stop it. Simple tenet of coaching which apparently is lost on Shurmur. It is disappointing because installing a new HC comes with significant disruption, which further delays everything.

Probably because a lot of us saw this coming. Left 4 points on the field in the first half. Lost by 3. i hear you. A good team can overcome one lousy turnover. I should have reminded myself they’re not a good team. So true. It shouldn’t have had as dramatic an effect as it did. But we all know this team. And like you said. We’re 3-8 for a reason.

Lets face it, first half the Eagles were not ready to play after there last 3 loses. But that sad Eli Interception at the end of the half turned this game around. I watched the game with a Eagles fan friend of mine and said after the turnover, game over we won't score in the second half. I was close as we did score 3 points. Complete turn around in the second half and it didn't surprise me at all. They got some pressure on Eli and he got that Deer in the headlights look that he's famous for.

Nonsense. He was superb. Especially in the 2nd half. Didn’t say he was superb you jackass. I’m not an Eli apologist as I said his career was over last year. Unlike you, I still have respect for what he did for this franchise. You spew Eli hate...non-stop negativity over and over in your endless posts. Yes, Eli made a couple of really bad decisions and, as usual, he will take responsibility for them in his press conference because he is a stand up guy. Take it easy, PennState1. It doesn't help your case to hurl insults, even in the face of sarcasm. So much of this negativity comes from simple pain. Unrelenting, seemingly endless PAIN. So let's cut each other a little slack, 'cause we all get unruly when hope is in short supply. Even me.

Unlike you, I still have respect for what he did for this franchise. You spew Eli hate...non-stop negativity over and over in your endless posts. See this is what's wrong with a lot of stuff that happens on this board. You're lashing out in anger right now. And by doing so you (and you're not singled out in this case by any means) just completely make up whatever story you need to in order to feel justified in your insults. Misrepresentation and completely fabricating other posters' opinions and posts runs rampant here. As much as you want to believe what you wrote above, it's simply not true. I've praised Eli for all his accomplishments. I still have respect for what he has done for this franchise. I've posted such things dozens and dozens of times. Yet, if I point out poor plays of his that are costly.... the above reaction is what's thrown out a lot. So do this community a favor. Take the time to actually learn about its members. Don't be so reactionary and try to remember what one says. And please don't misrepresent it or completely twist it/make things up. Most people don't realize how he carried the entire 2011 regular season team on his back. That was an unreal season from a QB. Then of course the ensuing stellar SB run. And his 2007 SB run was nothing short of near-perfection also.
