Curious how people viewed these two groups as neither team was know for its passing game.
Also curious, which of those two whole teams if planted in today's NFL would fair better with all the different rules today?

1990 by a mile.. Stephen Baker and Mark Ingram.
Outside of Giant fans can anyone name the receivers of the ‘86 team?
As for what team would fair better in today’s rules, the ‘86 team was a great team. They kicked a lot of ass that season.. But that ‘90 team which was my favorite Giants team had no weaknesses.
I can’t see any tackle blocking MVP Taylor from ‘86. In a passing league of today he could rack up 20 sacks in the first 10 games.

They were both pretty mediocre. I guess the 90 team's WR's were a little better.

I mean....Bavaro's '86 season was pretty excellent, are we ruling him out?
'90 had Baker and Ingram who were pretty good in a 'meh' offense, so for WRs, they were better.
Sorry, i can't vote. I'm conflicted!!

I'm conflicted!! Yes, he was a TE. I was specifically speaking of WRs. Sorry if that wasn't clear. 1990 also had Meggett at RB, but he doesn't count either.

He was hurt that year but Manuel and Johnson over Baker and Ingram imo.

I have no recollection of the 86 team, 1990 was when I really started paying attention. And I thought the Giants just won the super bowl every year, boy did 1991 suck

I just assumed the Giants and Penn State would win every year. 1987 was a wake up call.

Also the 07 vs the 2011 WRs core would be an excellent debate. I can’t decide on that one.

This is a good topic. 86 vs 90 QB 90 RBs 86 WRs 86 TE. 86 OL 90 Dline 86 Linebackers 86 Corners 90 Safeties 90 Special teams 90. Thoughts ? I disagree with some here: QB '86,. Phil was 22/25 in the SB. IN '90 Hoss played well, but we win the SB easily if Phil is the QB. RB - '90, Joe Morris was what he was because of the gaping holes the '86 line opened for him. I'll take the veteran leadership OJ Anderson brought to the '90 team. WR's - tough call. The Smurfs of '86 did a great job, but so did Baker and Ingram in '90 TE '86. Bavaro in '90 was not what he was in '86 OL. The '86 team was the best blocking team the Giants have ever had. Like I said, Joe Morris ran through huge holes all season. DLine… close, but I'll agree '86 LB - The best LB corp, ever, '86... Banks, Reasons, Harry, and LT... 'nuf said. Corners - Collins/Williams, '86, vs. Collins/Walls... pretty close. Safeties: Hill and Kenard, '86, vs Jackson and Guyton. Pretty close, again

Also the 07 vs the 2011 WRs core would be an excellent debate. I can’t decide on that one. 2011 by a mile 2011 group was better, but Plax was the best individual receiver out of them all. I'm not sure if Eli's career ever would have taken off if it hadn't been for big #17.
