Sox are in huge trouble. Their BP is pretty non existent. The Smith incident will kill us. Unless they find a way to trade JBJ for a relief pitcher, I think we are going to struggle.

I don't think your team is in trouble, but I'd be more concerned about Pomeranz & Price than your relievers. Also not sure if you could get much for Bradley Jr right now while he's batting under .200. Smith incident?

Possibly career ending??

Possibly career ending?? A definite possibility. Shoulders are nothing to mess with. They are waiting for the swelling to go down to make an evaluation. sox fans are hoping for the best but we're pretty pessimistic about it. It's a fluke thing. Guys throw their gloves and worse all the time in disgust. Just terrible luck.

Yankees top outfield prospect Estevan Florial needs wrist surgery, could miss three months. KANSAS CITY — It turned out Estevan Florial had much more than a sore right wrist. Florial has a fractured hamate bone in his right wrist which requires surgery. Aaron Boone had the same injury in 2001 when he was playing for Cincinnati and missed exactly a month as a result. Florial, the top position-player prospect in the Yankees' system, could end up missing more time than that — possibly being out until August. He has officially been placed on the 7-day minor-league disabled list. Read more. www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/yankees-prospect-florial-wrist-surgery-3-months-article-1.3997499

I never expect a sweep in any series as that can be reaching and unrealistic. Plus, any team can beat any other team especially if they have a tough pitcher starting that day.
But man, I was hoping for a sweep in KC this weekend. If they don't win the next two, I'll be bitterly disappointed.
Oh well, at least the Orioles beat the Red Sux last night.

starting pitching and pitching in general is always such a fragile situation. The Yanks had a great BP last season which turned out to be the highlight of the team. In today's game I think the hitters talent/skill far outweighs the pitchers in general. You take a top pitcher and if he is just a bit off it usually results in having a bad outing. Pitchers need everything to be just right more times than not.

MLB’s potential arm sellers – and the dilemmas they’ll face. The first quarter of the season is about establishing what kind of team you have. The next quarter is about facing reality about what kind of team that is. If you are a strong contender, you buy before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline. A terrible team sells. This year those extremes appear overt. There were four teams on pace to win at least 100 games and seven in all to win at least 96 when the weekend began, while there were seven on pace to lose 100. Conversations are tougher in the middle, and yet those are the teams most in need of being honest about their status: 1) Are they good enough to make the playoffs? 2) How are they set up for the next few years? 3) Will there ever be a better market to trade a high-end starter than this one? Yanks are going to pull away. Sox are in trouble with their bullpen.
My prediction though....Stanton will end up killing them. That deal with end up a huge albatross around their collective neck.

I hope you're right, but I still won't take your team for granted. By the way, two more home runs from JD today. That's ten home runs in the month of May for him!!

Yanks option Frazier to Triple-A after victory. The Yankees optioned outfielder Clint Frazier back to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday following their 10-1 win over the Royals. Frazier logged his first big league game of 2018 on Saturday following a prolonged absence with concussion symptoms, going 1-for-2 with a double and two walks out of the No. 7 spot as New York's designated hitter. He did not appear in Sunday's series finale at Kauffman Stadium. Read more. www.mlb.com/yankees/news/yankees-return-clint-frazier-to-triple-a/c-277612404

8-1... Sonny completes eight innings! glad to see he finally had a good outing... +1 It was against the lowly Royals and on the road (Gray has been horrible in Yankee Stadium), but I'll take it. There's always hope he'll regain his Oakland form.
