Damn you for speaking the truth! I am seriously considering a boycott until the team is sold but I know that just means I'd have no team for the rest of my life. You can always come to the Bronx side.... I was born and raised in the Bronx. But my father grew up on the UWS of NYC so he was a NY Giants fan. He's a national league guy and that's what he raised me to be. I can't fight city hall.

And the beat goes on. Another loss to the lowly Rockies 6-4 by the even lower Mets

This team is "amazing". When they put up runs, the pitching allows even more. When the pitching allows under 4, they can't score more than 2. "Amazing"! And I don't mean that in a good way. 7 HRs in 1 game? In the words of the late great Casey Stengal, "Amazing, amazing, amazing".

So, its bottom 10th last night, tie score mets have man on first and second no outs. Cabrerra is up (the team leader in RBIs)
He attempts a bunt, which he pops up behind the plate. The catcher catches it but somehow drops it. He attempts a bunt again, which he pops up to the pitcher and is out. Again, the RBI leader, with a guy already in scoring position.
Thankfully, Flores doubles down the third base line in the next at bat and they finally win a game

You really had to see the at bats to appreciate how ridiculous he looks at the plate. Striking out on balls in the dirt, swinging wildly at pitches at chin level. From mediocre pitchers.

Mets should probably fire sale and not screw it up. If they just suck it up and trade DeGrom, Syndergaard, Cespedes, Familia and every other piece of value they might be able to restock their shitty farm system. I do hope Alderson beats the cancer, but as a GM he has failed us. That's greatly influenced by the Coupons of course.

Wow just when you think it can't get worse
Wheeler goes 7 giving up only 5 hits and 0 runs with 7 Ks. Leaves with 3-0 lead
BP gives up 5 runs on 7 hits in just 2 Innings. 1 in 8th and 4 given up by Famila coming on for the save in the 9th
Boy this pen us horrendous

Boy, that 11-1 start sure had some Met's fans talking WS in April. Never could figure out that mindset in a sport that plays 162 games. It's not like football where a 4-0 start kinda rates SB talk. Then to top it off, Mets fans were talking smack on the Yanks slow April start & saying the Mets were gonna be the better team in NY this yr. In a way, Mets fans are way worse than Cowboys fans. They talk so much smack for an organization that last won a world championship 3 plus decades ago when probably, 50% of them weren't even hatched yet. Said it before, say it again, this is a cursed sports organization that will only improve when ownership sells it. As long as the Coupons are in charge, I pity you Mets fans, I truly do.

I don't know where you hang out but I never heard any Mets fans talking smack 12 games into the season. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm simply saying I never witnessed it first hand and while I believe there is a faction in every fan base of arrogant uninformed morons, I don't think it's the majority for any team. Not even the Mets. Any real Mets fan knows to shut up when things are going well because it inevitably will not be sustained. I agree it's a crap organization and the ownership is to blame, but I have no idea where this fantasy of trash talking Mets fans comes from. In fairness, you could very well live amongst a gigantic swarm of them, but I have no idea where that is.

I know a few Mets fans that were talking mad smack after that 11-1 start & bad mouthing Yanks fans on their slow April start & were going back n forth on how on which team would reach the WS this yr & a few ignorant Mets fans were swearing up n down, that the Mets were. I have to believe it's the younger fans that tend to do the smack talking as the older Mets fans know better than to spew that WS crap talk in April.
The 09' Giants taught me that you never talk SB even after a 5-0 start as they train wrecked their way to a 8-8 record that yr.

So you quit being a Mets fan and now delight in pitying Mets fans? That's a lame schtick. I am proud to be a Mets fan and will stay that way until I die. I appreciate the other guys around here that feel the same. I am also a Knicks fan, it's called loyalty.

Mets Knicks Rangers Giants I have been a Giants fan since 1970 that’s a lot of crappy seasons to live through. I hate the Wilpons but I can’t change teams. What kind of fan is that?

No matter who is traded away , who is acquired in a trade. The Mets will be a team on the edge of being a minor league team. There in no force in the universe that will change that.

I have a friend that has switched back and forth between the Phillies and Mets sever times, depending on who was hot at the time. Another that has done the same with the Boy's and Giants. Peeps need to remember that a fan is short for fanatic. Not in me to be a frontrunner.

I'm perfectly aware of the plight of the Mets and the shitshow that is the Wilpons. That has nothing to do with my statement. My statement has to do with the last person on the face of the Earth that needs to tell me anything about being a Mets fan. Have fun being a Yankees fan, now go bury your head in the sand and wait for the World Series. At least when I meet a Mets fan I know I'm meeting a real fan. Not some front runner or non-fan who likes an NY hat. GTFOOH. Not much that gets posted on boards really gets under my skin. There are exceptions though.

Just a funny timing thing today, working in the yard, got hot and came inside and put the Mets on. Winning 2-0 in the bottom 6 one man on. Literally within a minute of turning it on, deGrom gives up a 2 run homer. And because I know they are not scoring more than 2 runs on any pitcher, I just turned it off after literally watching 2 minutes of the game.
I guess I should know better than to even check in on games on at this point...

It's late in the game and they're winning 3-0, Wheeler is pitching. They bat for him or something and I change the channel. My wife says "don't you want to watch it anymore?" "I say, nah - the bullpen is coming in, they won't score anymore and will find a way to lose." I see on the news later. of course they do.

Bottom line, Mets are a sorry baseball organization, pretty much the butt of all jokes in baseball with their BPs amazing ability to blow late game leads. The opponent knows they just have to get the starter out of the game after the 5th or 6th inning & the game's in the bag. They're gonna finish with 100+ losses, especially once they trade DeGrom to the Yanks which will more than likely clinch the WS for them this yr. More power to all of you loyal Mutts fans that stick with them but they are a sorry sports organization & look to be for yrs to come.

Again, thank you for not adding 1 cent of value to the knowledge of any real Mets fan like the folks that frequent here. Maybe you need to go over and just have a nice circle jerk with a bunch of Yankme fans. If you're not a "Mutts" fan, why do you feel the need to continue poking actual Mets fans? Maybe never a Mets fan? I literally can't see a reason for it.

What purpose does it serve to ridicule the fans because the owner is an A**hole. When the Yanks were down for the past few seasons and we went to the WS, We did not do the same to you as fans. So what gives why do this? I could see if we deserved it. Not one of us did that. What kind of fan gives up on their team. If you do you are no better then the owner.

Two, will they finally get this right? I have this fear that the Wilpon's will dictate financial relief over quality prospects in the trade game. Not that we've ever seen that before. Right now outside of Rosario, Conforto and Nimmo everyone should be available.

There is no alternative. You guys are stuck with a sorry ass baseball team that after the fire sale coming later this month, will be a perennial cellar dweller for the next decade or so. Sorry if the truth hurts some of your feelings. The Yanks were "down" for a few seasons? They have been over 500 since 1993! I guess for the Yanks , 84-87 wins is a "down" yr for them while for the Mets it would be an outstanding yr. The Mets made the WS in 2000 & 2015, so hopefully some of you will still be around when they make their next WS in 2030.
