I was not happy with this either, but why aren’t the Raiders getting as much shit as we are for passing on him? Picked Clelin Ferrell instead, who was projected to go much later in draft

Passing on Josh Allen was a big swing and a miss. Our biggest need a pass rusher and Allen falls into our laps. We don't even have to trade up. Imagine if we just went defense and waited for next years QB class next year. Allen, Lawrence, and Baker in the 1st rd. Now you have a WOW !

I hate to second guess the professionals but I wish someone could explain why we passed on one of the really good pass rushers when rushing the QB is the big thing we couldn't do last season and we released the only guy we had who could do it, even he did have a bad season. I did want us to draft a QB but you can't have it both ways, we could have waited for a QB until next year, especially since Eli will be here this coming season..

I feel like they are getting just as much shit for passing on Allen, but it doesnt seem that way because we arent Raider fans
I feel like this draft choice will haunt us for YEARS (going Jones over Allen)

Allen is a really good prospect but I never saw him as incredible. More of an Anthony Barr type. This wasn’t the next Khalil Mack.

I'll be honest, I never thought Allen would ever fall to us. But when he did, I had the moment where I said to myself: "OMG, we're going to get Allen".

Yea, I wont lie, Jones is a better prospect than most are giving him credit. But passing on Allen is tough to stomach.

Probably because they still got a very good pass rusher.
We got a backup QB for 2019 who wont help our team win right now.
I love Ferrell. Think he will be a great player.

I just hope we didn’t pass on the next Von Miller

After this draft I feel like DG is gambling on our (hopefully) improved secondary to allow more time for our pass-rush to get there, instead of the other way around. Unless he has a free agent card up his sleeve between now and training camp...post june 1st cut maybe?

I just hope we didn’t pass on the next Von Miller We did....this was the Saquan Barkley's of Linebackers. I wanted Quinnen Williams (if he fell) over Allen...this would have been a massive upgrade to our entire defense, not just pass-rush. I see the next Reggie White in Williams. Hard to beat or pass that up But Allen was a better pick at this point, to me, than Bosa and far better pick than anyone else in the top ten! Only other close was Devin White.

The only player close to a pound for pound grade with Saquon in this class was Q. Williams. And he is still nowhere near. Saquon is the closest thing to the perfect prospect I’ve personally seen since I started following the draft closely in the last ..10 years or so.Andrew Luck is the only other one I can think of off the top of my head who compares Allen is an excellent prospect but honestly if Dexter Lawrence hits his ceiling he will be an even better player. Allen is an Anthony Barr type

Guy has been hurt since the start of OTA's. Right now, Jones is ahead of him on the rookie ladder

Think what you want about Allen but we need to compare not just to Jones but to Jones and the prospects we keep by not needing to trade up for a QB next year.

Who says we would have needed to trade up? Maybe we pick top 5 again. Time will tell. Jones needs to be compared to the 2018 and 2020 QBs and Allen IMO. Those were the other options. And I guess Hasksins too.

Allen will be good,he would have been better in a 3/4,unless Jacksonville goes to the hybrid 4/3 under Allen is going to end up being an underachiever for them

I felt this way when we passed on Donald for Odell too. Lets hope DJ is as talented at QB as Odell is so we can at least justify it.

I personally would have liked Allen but Bettcher’s system is not as edge rusher reliant as some. There is more than one way to skin a cat in regards to creating a pass rush. Lawrence should be a big help with this.

There is a good chance Jones works out and is a great fit for PS’s offense.

if only we had a crystal ball and could see that Jones would still be available with our second pick we could have had Allen and Jones..
