did you know that this board is 1000X better than the previous forum ?
in seriousness ... lets see if we can get this started here as well ... not easy to recreate a classic that is a decade old with 17,000 responses and nearly 5 million views ... but ...
I'll start easy
who was the coach who sent in the play that resulted in the Pisarcik fumble ?

Other than McVay, I can't remember a single coach on that staff (of course I was 12 at the time...)

"Bob Gibson, 87, was the offensive coordinator of the New York Giants in 1978. At the end of a game that the Giants were about to win, he instructed quarterback Joe Pisarcik to hand the ball to Larry Csonka, rather than having Pisarcik take a knee to let time expire.
The play went famously awry. Pisarcik fumbled. Philadelphia defensive back Herman Edwards scooped up the ball and ran 26 yards for the winning touchdown.
Gibson was fired the next day. He never worked in football again. He rarely discussed the play or his firing, letting the years swallow ignominy like ivy on an old barn. He opened a bait shop and played golf."

A shout out to YA for creating DYK over 9 years ago.
I re-started this in OFF-Topic because we often have posts that aren't Giant related, and it could be interesting to ask a DYK question about players, past and present, who did not play for our Gmen. Plus, it deserves a spot as neighbor to that other 9 year thread veteran... The THEE thread.

LT once had a condo at 140 Prospect Ave. Hackensack (nice place)....I delivered a pizza there once (1991?) and walked right into him coming out of the elevator. I said "Hey LT!" He grunted and shoved me out of the way.

Thankyou, te... I am going to remove this thread so as not to have two. It's YA's thread... we don't need two.

Thank you for re-creating this YA. I didn't know you started it and I started one yesterday in the OFF-TOPIC section. As soon as a Mod advises me how to delete it, it will be gone. There can be only one.

That was the birth of "Taking a Knee" ( Football related ). Other teams took notice and adopted the practice!

In the history of the NYG only 2 Players from Texas Southern U were ever drafted by the Giants. Both have made a significant mark in the annals of Giant lore
Who are these 2 players?

Wow... That's quite a set of circumstances. That play will live in infamy, but I'm not sure his penalty fits the crime. He couldn't even get a job for a college team after that?

Why are we not Drafting more out of Texas Southern ? So far it has been a can't miss school for the Gmen He only hjad 4 years of over 40 receptions... 224 catches in his 7 years with 4 good years and 3 years with 4, 10, and 26 receptions. Plus, the Giants never had a winning team in his 7 years.

Carson is my all time favorite Giant. I believe all are still alive except for Van Pelt who passed away about 10 years ago.It would be great to see the middle of the D once again rise to dominance.

4 players at some point in their career were a NY Giant . These 4 players are in the top 20 of the NFL's most games played list.
Who are the 4 players?
