Today Thursday 5/2 on NFL channel PFF columnist Palaluzzo (don't hold the spelling against me) said that PFF had Jones a Day 2 pick. A late 2nd rounder or early 3rd rd pick. He said that they had 3 QB's ahead of him.
Take it for what it's worth just another source that thinks the Giants made a big reach and passed up a blue chipper at pick #6. The criticism just doesn't end, everyday there is a segment about how the Giants screwed up. The people on TV are actually laughing at our #6 pick. Literally !
Jones is our guy now so all we can do is root for this guys success but it just keeps making me nervous and stirring up my anger from draft day that we passed up a blue chipper like Josh Allen.

PFF sucks.
But they really loved Julian Love. Said it was a top 5 steal of the draft.
As for Jones, maybe all the negative shade thrown his way adds fuel to the fire and he has a huge chip on his shoulder.

and Bucky Brooks had the LB we signed as a UFA in his top 5 for LBs for all that's worth.

I like PFF but they are more accurate the easier it is to isolate a player. For instance, I trust their linemen rankings because a lot (not all) of what linemen do is one on one against someone. In contrast, QBs are probably the most impacted by the rest of the team. Beyond that, I like to look at their actual data more than their conclusions. As for Jones, we have to hope that him playing with non-competitive teammates is throwing off a lot of analysts. For my part, I was willing to believe Eli was getting a bad rap because of the oline so I'm willing to believe Jones maybe getting a bad rap for having a bad line, bad rb, bad wr's, bad te's and bad waterboy's. Edit to add one final thought: the best analyst's in the media and in NFL front offices are wrong about 50% when using top picks on QBs (when you would think they would be most confident) so this is whole thing is up in the air as far as I'm concerned.

I will wait and see with Jones . I have my assumption on what I believe him to be. Those assumptions will not cloud my judgment on observation of his play for the Giants . He is either going to prove my preconceived impression or prove it wrong. I want him to prove it wrong. I will say this if he is what I think he is I will defend him when the trashing begins .

PFF does many things well. Creating arbitrary player rankings and guessing at players’ potential projected performance are not on that list. But it couldn’t matter less, no one is holding them accountable on anything they project or publish with regard to these items.

If I want to know how many plays were in shotgun, how many balls were dropped, how many runs left/right, etc...those are the things PFF is good for.

Supposedly, his receivers weren't the greatest and they dropped a lot of balls. but you need to watch the games to see his receivers telegraphing their routes, rounding off the top of their route, not showing much effort with contested catches, easily re-routed by DBs, etc... Drops are only part of the story....how do I get the rest of the story from PFF?
