A whole lotta defense, and after watching today...that average pass blocking old overpaid left tackle gonna need upgrading with franchise youth very soon.
Slayton finally showed we might be set with over the top speed.....

We now have 13 games to self scout with no inhibitions, or restrictions. This is the team. Laid bare. Let’s find out. On 9/22 I think the teams biggest needs are: Edge XWR FS OT All subject to change as we go.

Watching Talib last night...well, actually the entire defense of the Rams, and they sure do make it tough on those big fantasy name receivers to catch balls. I believe teams that allow for many weapons as the system design, makes it difficult for any defense to deal with, as the need to stop one certain player or aspect of the play calling becomes moot. Any speed at WR and a receiver that can catch it, and adjust to a deep ball was just another small aspect to any balanced offense.....a balanced offense that a strong OL will provide. Defense (everywhere) OT Weapons, for a balanced attack...everybody touching the ball. Year of the WR in the draft.... We need to take advantage of the low cost of Jones going forward...and we need to get the defense on dominant cue quickly.

Apparently Barrett is an UFA next offseason...playing in a similar system as ours.Problem is that the Bucs are in good enough cap shape to retain him. I still think we wnd up in the picks 10-15 range and then we need to see what is left value wise after the vulture season(free agency) But that would possibly be in the area Wirfs(if Gettleman breaks the trend of not taking linemen that early)CeeDee Lamb or someone

I'm going QB after Jones loses a game with 3 picks, 2 fumbles and 12 sacked ... just putting that out there in case it happens ...so I can say I knew it all along. Or, how about we make the offensive line even younger/better and be able to keep the wall built strong and long for Jones? It will allow for a running game, play action, longer routes...having a dominating OL will make this kid even that much better.

I have not seen a qb rich class like I have the 2020 looks like..I wouldn't object to a 5th rd pick that was graded at a 3 or higher..BUT we desperately need PR and Lbs ..

LMFAO at your 1st sentence After yesterday, Solder looked old and slow, as did Jenkins. We should defitnely go after an OT, but if we keep winning we could be out of the running for my favorite OT, Andrew Thomas from Georgia, LOL.

Haha..oh, and for the record, I would hire only you for my NFL team's scouting department. I do pay well, a little less then minimum but really, what is one mans minimum is another's maximum. I do expect long tedious hours going over tape of Duke's many losses, of course...but the reward is you get your own thread on these very boards Solder meh, was only an average tackle when we signed him..and from the team where you do not want to sign any free agents from...never was sold on him as a stud blinder. He is to me, a stop gap...an overpaid one at that. We certainly need more on the way of the the wall...hopefully DG does indeed scout up some hidden gems in this draft. He wanted a tackle last year, and was quoted that they expected one to fall, but any of the worthy ones were all gone by the time they were going to put the card in. Oh well...don't want him to reach, especially with the depth of the receivers this year, but the importance of this offensive line went up 10 fold after watching the potential of Jones. IMHO of course.
