Darnold gets hurt....Webb comes in and lights it up like Aaron Rodgers ... while at the same time Daniel Jones is struggling at QB for the Giants.
Boy would that suck or what?

Slow down, It's because McCown retired. He may have improved, but let's not act like his move up the depth chart was performance based
He was on the practice squad last year while Siemian started 24 games the last 2 years. Seems like a good thing to me.
It's his third year he works his tail off think he probably can recite the new playbook already.

It's his third year he works his tail off think he probably can recite the new playbook already. It’s a whole new offense with Adam Gase as the head coach. You know the coach who at his press conference as the new Jets head coach looked like he was sniffing glue before going to the podium. Also its July, the depth chart is going to be moved around a lot in the next few months.

Jets better hope Darnold doesn’t get hurt or they are totally screwed. That goes for the other 31 teams as well. Starting QB goes down it’s devastating to a team. As much as I like this happening for Webb, he pretty much took the spot of a player the entire organization hoped would never see the field.

Yet I keep hearing about all these teams constantly bringing in new QBs to push their existing QBs and these young turks are all so great that it takes a herculean effort every year from every starting QB (except Eli Manning) to keep their jobs. With new, young, great QBs coming into the league every year there must be some really really good ones just lying around, right? Huh...weird

Trevor Siemian is now 3rd.
Good for Davis. He seemed like a good kid and hard worker.
Rooting for him. I think he got a raw deal here with the new regime. I agree, he seems more prepared to be a professional than Lauletta.

I really wish we got to see Webb play a few games back in 2017. The kid "looks" the part. And his games in college look good too. I thought he would be at least Eli's backup at worst if we didnt change GMs and coaches. He came into a really tough situation as a rookie and I thought he handled the media and the "distractions" around him with maturity and class. At Cal his senior year he threw somewhere around 38 TDs so he can sling it. Hate to say, it another wasted pick. I am rooting for him, he deserves a shot.

Liked him because of his maturity and work ethic, think he learned a lot watching Manning get benched for Geno how Eli remained team first and was the same guy leading up to the game helping Geno and Davis prepare, that is where Lauletta had a lot of people fooled they thought he had that same work ethic and maturity as we all found out he didn't.

Perhaps he improved the year he spent on the Jets practice squad.. Then again its the J-E-T-S that the newly hired HC managed to get the dude that hired him, fired.... I'm still scratching my head on that one.
Also keeping my fingers crossed on DJ... (toes and eyeballs too just to be on the safe side)

Did anyone bother to read the article? I did, it said he got the #2 QB reps on the last day of OTAs. No mention of minicamp, which I find odd. Hey ya’ll, first time poster, long time lurker, on the old boards and the new.

And, by the way, you happen to be wrong as well. I'm wrong? really? If that the case then I can only infer that you must work for the Jets organization and were involved in the slotting of him on the depth chart. If not. How am I wrong? Last year Davis Webb was #3 on the chart. McCown was #2. McCown retired. Eveyone behind him slides up a spot. That is a quantifiable fact. No guessing, assumptions but just a cold hard fact. Also considering that most NFL teams don't even set a depth chart until right before training camp and Davis Webb having been with the team last year. Logic would dictate that he would enter camp as #2. Yes, I know Simiean was signed, Yes I know that he has started before. But to say he was hired to be the backup is again making assumptions.

Darnold gets hurt....Webb comes in and lights it up like Aaron Rodgers and we had our QB of the future all along that would be tragic but oh so New York Giants lol why? how many other "Aaron Rogers" have the NYGs let go to other teams? Or had their own for that matter..

I dont remember Webb Davis... I do remember Davis Webb though. Only slightly though since he was only here 1 season as a rookie and learning in the McAdoo era. He then was cut due to the regimen change. DG wanted his own guy so he drafted Kyle Lauletta who looks much worse than Webb ever did. I think you are being a bit over the top saying he was terrible as a Giant and couldnt stay on the roster. Since we have no NFL film on DJ or WEbb yet, just looking at their college tapes, I think Webbs college tape is much more impressive than DJs. Not saying that will translate the same way in the NFL though.

Glad to see good things happening for Davis, always liked that kid. Was solidly in his camp. There were many people here that didn't like him for some strange reason. I hope he takes Darnolds job from him.

Missed a bunch of throws..Perhaps he didn't get a fair chance. Hard to project how a player will do once he gets in the show..

The Packers can’t seem to figure that out yet, and the Colts finally did last year.

And of course you know Webb was asked to do much less in a spread offense one read against much lighter comp with more talent, Webb I like a lot but what he was asked to do in college is why even when the Jets put Darnold on the bench he was not asked to be the man and grow on the job as a legit #2 if he showed good they would have trade bait or a back up plan, what he did in college in no way prepared him for the NFL now maybe in year 3 he will be ready for #2 back up duty and by year 4 become legit trade bait for teams looking for a starter but were a long way from that.

No matter how people feel about Eli we all knew he could win and perform on the biggest stage, the Giants wasted the second half of his career they new what he was a pocket passer that could slide in the pocket but was not good out of it, sometimes it's not as easy as it seems to get the pieces in place to help your guy, this team tried to draft OL just couldn't hit.

Jerry Reese could draft Forrest Gregg in the draft and he would select Forrest Gump. That was his Achilles heel, that and linebackers.
