With our first pick the only one I like (as of now) is Jeudy. I'll be focusing on WRs this fall though in college. The kid from Colorado will get a long hard look as well.

To me all Slayton needs to be is Ted Ginn Jr...just enough to make a defense think about him on the field to open enough of the underbelly.. Contrary to the popular belief of many but Getty will indeed take a playmaker early (McCaffrey,Benjamin and Barkley are proof of this ),mainly because of his confidence with finding really good linemen mid rounds.. And I think we would prefer to buy a pass rusher in FA as a final piece if needed,the only WR probably hitting the market that would be a legit game changer is Tyreek Hill(I stop watching this team if they are stupid enough to sign him,and I'm dead serious) Plenty of good ones ..... |

Both of those guys are top 10 picks as is the edge rusher from Iowa We won't be picking in the top 10 (strangely I can see a scenario where the QBs actually fall,look at the teams that suck.Jets(have their QB),Redskins (have their QB) Cards(have their QB)possibly Falcons (Have their qb),Broncos (probably have their QB) If we pick 12th.... I can see Young,Adams,Wirfs,and the 2 edge rushers go ahead of us with 3 qbs.Jeudy will be gone Ruggs and Lamb probably are in ths BPA zone for us |

I have a feeling that there will be a huge run for QB's which will allow us to draft someone like OT Andrew Thomas, and then possibly in the 2nd round get someone like Raegor, Lamb, Higgins, or Ruggs

Lamb and Higgins won’t survive the top 20, barring something drastic.
When Ruggs hits 4.2x at the combine, he won’t make it to 33.
Legacy, maybe I’m an old fogey, but I like the idea of 6’4 Higgins. Slayton the burner. Shepard the possession guy.
I’ve seen more of Higgins, which might be the defining factor. You seem high on Lamb. What am I looking for when I watch him?

BPA will dictate this And this year there is a much higher probability that one of these recievers are going to be BPA when we pick in the first with this class Also...let X man,Carter,the kids develop and play the rest of the year We resign Golden,X man continues to improve and shows he is the real deal,with the front 3 getting a push is pass rusher that much a need,and this isnt counting Carter and players like Skippers developing By the same token Slayton could explode the final 12 games ... So it's too early to tell what is a big need and rank them But going by what this next class looks like You have 2 legit pass rush prospects and then everyone else There could be 5- 7 wrs that are legit X Factor number one types. All things being equal,I expect us to be drafting anywhere between 12 and 19 ish.. Both pass rushers will be gone in the top 10 so it would be a major reach to take the next one,while we could have a stud like Lamb or Ruggs lll sitting there for us. |

Was watching some highlights of this guy blowing past coverage today and is putting up big numbers.
Hmmm

Height: 6-3. Weight: 192.
Projected 40 Time: 4.50.
Projected Round (2020): 1-3.
10/5/19: Jefferson has enjoyed a strong start to the 2019 season with 21 catches for 392 yards and five touchdowns. In 2018, he had 54 receptions for 875 yards and six scores. The 6-foot-3, 192-pounder has length to go with some quickness and athleticism. He has a ton of upside with the speed to make plays downfield and mismatch length to make receptions over defensive backs.

Why ? Oh he went on a boat trip a week before a playoff game. Why isn't Sterling Shepard gone he was on the boat ? Oh he proposed to a kicking net. Ridicules yes but so what. He didn't live his life like you wanted him to ?

How about maybe an OT ? Defensive side of the ball, FS, OLB, ILB,

My college roommate has season tickets to LSU. Great place to see a game, and I highly recommend a trip. He was a pretty good MLB, and a fine long snapper/st guy at school.
He hates the Jordan family after what his brother pulled in 2011. Haha, they hold grudges down there.
Oldest brother flamed as a qb. Next oldest a safety somewhere in NFL. He says Justin the best of the bunch. “Athletic, smooth, good hands, but inconsistent with production and effort to this point”. Pegs him as a serviceable #2 or a high end #3 wr.
Take that for what it’s worth, but I trust his evaluation.

I for one didn't want to trade him because of what we now don't have so don't lump me in with those people(and notice many of those same people are the same ones that keep saying WRs are a luxury and passively aggressively wish we would go back to prehistoric goober ball) With Odell,Barkley, a better O line and Jones this offense could have been special,unfortunately many on our fanbase have very low standards and would be content with 10-6 games.I want to for once in my life be a fan of a team that is feared because they kick teams in the nuts on both sides of the ball and capable of having a 40 or even 50 burger any week . |

Not all dynamic receivers are Divas... and Odell didn't get let go because of the boat trip... you know there was much more to it. These guys tend to take on diva tendencies after they get paid it seems. Not all(Julio Jones,Allen,Fitz..ect are examples) We see it starting now with Diggs. I made a post about just cycling through our dynamic playmakers without resigning them about a month ago,and keeping cap assets elsewhere.Now this works if you can scout and draft guys consistently and more importantly have an elite qb that can develop and elevate the play of all his playmakers.So far there might be a chance Jones has these traits If this is indeed true we could allocate cap space on offense to the line,,Barkley and eventually Jones while we have anyone that comes through put up insane numbers. I made this post thinking the Chiefs would let Hill walk at the end of the year after drafting Hardeman..they ended up extending him and after he gets hurt Hardeman has indeed been as good. To me this is why drafting WRs early is not a luxury if you have that kind of qb and dont have to hand out 90 million dollar deals to players at a position that has a history of turning psycho |

So
We now have 8 games at full strength at WR(knock on wood about Sheppard)and Slayton starting to emerge as a guy who is beating single coverage.
The goal is again heading into the draft is to not shop hungry,and this position is no different.
So if indeed as a group along with Jones skillsets flourish we hopefully can drop this position from dire need to "if Cee Dee Lamb is by far the BPA on the board take if picking 10 to 15 if Delpit and Simmons are gone"fallback
So with that said I've been looking into the next wave of WRs, ths non headliners if you will.
Remember
Modern NFL,speed and after the catch dynamic skills are what powers the best offenses and having multiple players that can do this,so lumbering big bodied ploddeders are going the way of the dinosaur
I already discussed Jefferson,next week he will be in the spotlight opposite the 3 studs from Alabama...let's see if he can compare
Donovan Peoples Jones-Michigan
To my eyes he legit reminds me of a young Toomer,enough speed to get deep and dictate coverage,post ball skills,route running
His numbers have been castrated by questionable QB play but the 2 times I've seen him this year he looked legit.

The Buckeyes have been a factory for NFL talent all over lately, but have a long history for supplying NFL receivers
This year will be no exception.
Hill is the spesd/player post catch guy the Shurmsr/McVay/Reid offense likes ...
Expect him to go rounds 3-4 if not earlier.

I watched the game against SMU last night
Gibson stole bit of his thunder,and to be honest its basicly a conference where its nuclear war style shootouts so it's kinda hard to judge playing at this conference
But Coxie seems to check all the boxes for what s traditional number 1 looks like size,speed,after the catch and ball/hands skills.
But major bonus points for off the field activity,ABC couldn't stop hyping his human interest story about him and thY kid with downs syndrome,and you can see him in ths post game interview he legit seems like a great kid
With the culture thjs team wants to build if he is on our radar if legit I can definitely see us taking him
This is a guy who probably needs Memphis to play someone with a better secondary in a Bowl game and in an all star game to turn some heads..

Sage Surratt from Wake Forest is REALLY fun to watch. He is a big WR who uses his size well and has been putting up some insane stats (obviously stats aren't everything but he is killing it)

My issue with many of these big WRs is that many of them have issues getting a lot of seperation at the next level consistantly it seems as route running with the bigger guys tend to not be as crisp and precise,mainly because of body type Unfortunately I spoke too soon about seeing the entire unit with Shepard to see how much of a need it will be next year but with this now possibly being career threatening we really need at least 2 as we can't have Latimer and Fowler on the roster. Maybe your speedy guy and a bigger guy combo Will look at Surratt though |
