I think he wanted out. Or he wanted to stay and complain. And then deal with a new young QB. Maybe he didn't think he wanted out but he probably implied it. And needed it. i think he wanted a younger more athletic QB . But i dont think he wanted out. the giants took to long to move on , and thats why we saw the interview with lil wayne to sort of hint it to the org. i think this is best for him . id be happy if i was him after the intial shock he is in a much better scenario right now. That’s your story, not his. Let’s not try to fashion a story after the fact that fits some fantasy nor project knowledge into him than he clearly does not possess. I also don’t think he would have been happy working through growing pains ona rebuilding team with a new QB. And I’m certain he doesn’t give a crap about the mobility of the QB, only about that QB’s ability to get him the ball. I agree going to a team that’s done rebuilding and provides no excuses is a much better spot for him. Thus far he hasn’t demonstrated that he is mature enough to handle real adversity. He hasn’t really had any yet in his career yet you’d think he was a persecuted martyr, lol.

Biggest mistake in team history was trading a 30 year old linebacker by the name of Sam Huff. A mistake Wellington regretted his whole life.

The biggest mistake IMO:
Cutting Phil Simms after a pro bowl season and believing Dave Brown was the future.

This guy has thrown the gauntlet. He has spoke his mind. He is not a Giant now and has shown himself to have I in Team . Bipolar people tend to need chaos. Mark my words, Eli was actually a good calming force for him whether he thinks so or not. I expect a major blow up with Mayfield within a year or 2. Mayfield is a completely different personality. If things go south soon over there. Fireworks will fly. and if he has great success and we are fielding 3rd string wr's? What do our WR's have to do with it? We didn't trade him for a WR.
Suppose that Peppers, Lawrence and X-Man all turn out to be solid contributing starters? 3 starters for a WR making $95M, who is a pain in the ass?

u make a valid point i like peppers. however mara knew who he was before resigning him. Its just a dumb move to block 20mill in cap space penalty trading him after. And its more of a glaring error seeing as we are thin at that position. Do I see it as the biggest mistake in giants history? No. Because we are rebuilding anyway.

It was a really bad business move to sign him and then trade him a year later, but it may not have as great a football impact because the cap hit is sustained this year (where we have little to no hope of being a serious contender even with that cap space) and is off the books after that.

Yep and that’s probably part of why they pulled the trigger when they did. There is even probably some truth to Gettlemans spin that having him signed made him more valuable/easier to trade. As we’ve seen, Michael Thomas is already in the Odell ballpark for a contract and soon we will probably see Amari Cooper and Tyreek Hill sign mega deals. Hard to know what we would have done with that cap money anyway this year. Giants are going to have a LOT of money to burn soon.

Chiefs are going to let Hill walk, they drafted his replacement this year as insurance in case he got indicted and suspended...and the kid is balling already. Even if he isn't Hill,he is still a dynamic playmaker that will.effect the way defenses have to play them, and they have him I think on a 4 year plus option year rookie deal.Yeah I'm letting Hill walk and still get a facsimile of his production

in that context yes it is "dumb". But he wasnt happy which I get and he seemed to want out so he's gone. Would rather not have an unhappy OB. That would not be a good thing. If the Giants happen to play better football overall and win more games the I guess it wasnt so bad. Time will tell. no he didnt want out in fact he was shocked when traded. maras ego got to him after his dad called him out for throwing a chair and it wasnt considered being a "drama queen" "malcontent" " distraction" "diva" You do realize that Wellington Mara is dead, no? in that context yes it is "dumb".
