Phil should be in the HOF because he was a fearless QB that elevated our offense to two 2 Super Bowls.
Name a QB with more heart than Phil.
I love Phil and I thought he was amazing and not very many people remember he took us the that 2nd super bowl before getting hurt and I would love to have him go to the HoF but as years go by I think his chance's get less and less. I think many non Giant fans don't look at him with the same admiration as we do. I wonder if that’s true. I would think other fans have the utmost of respect for him as a player. Except Denver fans that is. They seem to have a hard on for him because they feel he was partial to New England.

I know Redskin Fans didn't .Mike Wilbon who is (or was ) a voter for the HoF liked Phil as he said a lot but still didn't think he was HoF stuff. Phil was one of, if not the most respected QB's in the league when he played. I doubt any QB in NFL history was hit as often as Phil was in his career. That's not to say they all thought he was a HOF'r. As a Phil Cultist I'm not sure myself. But he was a great Giant, and helped break the horrific legacy of losing during my entire life up to that point. Then on the largest stage...he had the greatest game in SB history for a QB.

His career stats rival many QBs that are in the HOF same as Tiki. Tiki's last 3 yrs in the NFL were better than most elite RBs in their 1st 3 yrs. Tiki hurt himself by hanging it up 2yrs too early,

Please make no mistake I am not anti Phil Simms , I would love to see him in the HoF but I am looking for reasons other than he was a great Giant. I'm not saying he should be. My standards for the HOF seem to be a lot higher than those who vote these days. Their are several guys who are in that I don't think should be. But if Jerome Bettis is in....then Tiki should be in. Tiki was a far superior player. If Troy Aikman and Steve Young are in......... then Phil should be in.

I'm sure if you ask Troy & Steve, they would agree with you. Same for Tiki's peers.

Simms was my initial thought. Bavaro is another. Yes, Mark is one of my all time favorite Giants...what a beast he was on field!

No doubt Phil was a tough son of gun on the field!

Sims, Tiki, Bavaro, Marshall, Banks and Martin. All excellent choices...of those great Giants, which player was the one that the opposing team needed to game plan against the most? Has to be Tiki, right? How can it not be the best QB in team history? It has to be Phil. Congrats on your 1,000th post...

If I could only choose 1, I'd go with Tiki. All the love and support for former great Giants is on point though. That said, saying that Jerome Bettis is a HOFer and Tiki isn't only brings to light the complete absurdity of the selection process.

Tiki should've been a shoe-in. Simms might get in when he's 90 out of sympathy.

Even at 90 he'll still be able to kill Eli in a fight. Simms who had more injuries than any Giant QB, hell the man would get hurt when the wind blew . Against Eli who has (knock on wood) been good so far! I'll take ELI in that match ...Eli can out run Phil! It's what happens when you stand in the pocket and take hits....instead of chucking and ducking.

Tittle even though we only had him at the tail end of his career. But it was great for both him and the team it rejuvenated both. But it has to be Eli.

My favorite Simms game even more than the super bowl was the 86 champ game vs Washington. With the conditions the way they were that day he was the man. On the flip side Jay Schroeder had no chance.
