Tiki should be in the hall as well as Leonard Marshall.

My favorite Simms game even more than the super bowl was the 86 champ game vs Washington. With the conditions the way they were that day he was the man. On the flip side Jay Schroeder had no chance. Phil was 7-14 for 90 yards and 1 TD in that game

I was there! Not putting Phil down. He took what the conditions gave him (basically nothing), in contrast to Schroeder who threw it 50 times in that weather! To cite that as Phil’s best performance though is a little strange given his Super Bowl performance in the very next game

I think Tiki and Bavaro are the 2 most talented in that order. But my other 2 favorites besides Bavaro are Carl Banks and Phil Simms. I loved Banks never thought he got the credit he deserved. And Phil was wasted at the beginning and end of his career by Giant coaching.

It's what happens when you stand in the pocket and take hits....instead of chucking and ducking. So, you're saying Eli doesn't get hit? He does and has been as been great for us for years. He is as tough as they come imo. Simms is on a different level of toughness though imo. The one play that is a great example of that is in the 1986 divisional game against San Francisco, go back and watch the touchdown pass to Bobby Johnson. Simms gets absolutely destroyed on that play. It was helmet to helmet and would have been a penalty in today’s game. He stood in there and basically threw it blindly to where the receiver on the route was supposed to be. That’s not only an example of being tough it’s a testament to how under pressure he still kept his head and knew the throw that needed to be made.

It's a crime Tiki isn't in. When he retired only 3 players had 10,000 yards rushing and 5,000 yards receiving in a career. Marshall Faulk, Marcus Allen and Tiki Barber. Best running back in franchise history by a mile.

Carson was “knocked out” and continued playing. Different times ....

Surprised that a guy like Larry Csonka can be in the Hall of Fame but Tiki hasn't been strongly considered. I doubt Csonka even starts in today's NFL.

Little known secret.
Last year, Canton was considering Simms for the Hall of Fame, but then this video surfaced, blowing his chances.

There was a legitimatey disturbing video that came out after the super bowl called “champions for life” a pro life advocate video featuring some of the Giants players. George Martin is in it and he was an embarrassment imo.

in my opinion Joe Morrison should be in the pro football hall of fame he embodied everything that a pro football player should be Joe could, and did, play virtually every offensive and defensive position except O-line and D-line. He certainly gave everything he had to the team. But although he was amazingly versatile, he was, in my opinion, probably not a HOF player at any of those positions.
A player who seems to be largely overlooked is Alex Webster, maybe the greatest Giant FB ever (he also played HB). Also overlooked is the fact that he had an influence on the history of the game: he was very outspoken in his criticism of the tackling rules of the time. In those days there was no such thing as 'down by contact'. A runner was not 'down' until his forward motion had been stopped, even if he had been tackled to the ground. This meant that a runner could slither along the ground with defenders piling on until he was finally pinned. Obviously very dangerous for runners. The rule was changed to more or less the modern form in 1956, a year after Webster joined the Giants.

May I add Carl Banks to the list? I'd say so... Banks seems to be the forgotten one by many but to me his arrival in 1984 allowed LT to really explode to the next level because teams had to also game plan for him as well. If it wasnt for Simms having such an incredible game I would possibly be talked into Banks getting that SB MVP,mainly for his part in that goal line stand. He was the best player on defense that day.

Simms credits Sean Landeta for that game but you're right that was to me anyway the greatest Giants game ever. I was at that game. I remember the Giants deferring so they could get the wind in the 1st and 4th quarters. I just remember when the 4th quarter started and the Redskins had to go against not only our defense but that wind it was over, and that entire 4th quarter being one huge party Seeing old timers in tears because they never thought they would see this team in the super bowl.
