2008 Detroit Lions - undefeated preseason - 0-16 regular season 2011 Rams - undefeated preseason - 2-14 regular season
Was there a NYG team that went undefeated preseason and then was awful regular season? I seem to recall one but may be mistaken.

Supposedly in the mid 70s they were 6-0 and were like 2-12

Winning in the preseason means nothing , Having your 1st team Offense and Defense look sharp in the 3rd preseason game means a lot.

Just another senseless metric analysts try using to garner any "sense" in their predictions.
Glorified practices are essentially that. Why can we not recall our pre-season records from last season, or even the past few years? Because it means jack shit.

In the last 12 years 1 team (the NY Giants) have won the Super Bowl with a losing pre-season record. Also only 1 team in the last 12 years that went 4-0 won the Super Bowl. In the last 53 years 1 team has won the Super Bowl without winning a preseason game.
Winning in the preseason does not predict success, but losing in the preseason is a good indicator of a poor year coming.

Historical NFL pre-season won/loss records do not seem to be kept.
At least I can't find them.

They keep statistics on dogs who were castrated that have bitten a mailman by the day of the week filtered by breed. Spoiler, rottweilers are more aggravated Mondays too.
