Apparently Barkley tweeted some kind of political support for Kap and said ,"I don't care if I lose fans." One thing I LOVED about Barkley last year was his humility and his moderation of thought. I really hope this isn't the start of a bigger-than-the-game attitude. Personally, my opinion on this is that I don't care about who sits or stands because I find the pledge of allegiance to be a form of idolatry so to speak, and any pledge is, by design, an oath where you're promising the system not to think for yourself. But I also can't stand how they've pulled politics into a place where it has no business being. A sports team is like a bar - it's supposed to be a forgetting place and if you are paid BY the fans, how do you make the statement that you don't care if you lose them? I'd hate to see Barkley grow an ego. giantswire.usatoday.com/2019/08/13/saquon-barkley-support-colin-kaepernick-dont-care-lose-fans/

At this juncture, it's all yesterday's news, don't think it will have any impact at all on Saquon's play.

It didn't seem like he was supporting his cause. More like he was supportive of him working out in case a tryout came up. Anyway, Saquon seems like a really good dude. But so did Odell year 1. Then Odell got an ego and became an individual. Hopefully Saquon stays Saquon.

This makes me love Barkley even more. I find this to be very courageous, as he runs a serious risk of messing up his career by supporting Kap. Keep it up Saquon.

SB has the right to say whatever he wants.
Although isn't this topic a dead horse at this point?

Kid stands by his beliefs saying that I think Cap could have done things differently the cause is correct.

I find all this talk about what a great guy Barkley is to be a little puzzling.
Correct me if I'm wrong, please, but he is supposedly living with a woman not his wife, and they have a child out of wedlock. If those statements are true, then he has serious moral flaws, and he is not really such a great guy.

I haven't heard a single quote, report, or anything discrediting the idea that Saquon Barkley is a great guy. How is that considered a moral flaw? This isn't the 1940's my guy.

SB has the right to say whatever he wants. Although isn't this topic a dead horse at this point? Colin recently tweeted a nicely produced clip of him lifting weights which ends with a countdown clock of the days he's been "denied work".
Of course John Elway claims he offered Colin a 2 year deal. I wonder if Colin denies it?

The only thing we as fans have to worry about if it becomes a distraction to himself and the Giants.. Its a click-bait, take that FWIW
“I mean Kaepernick’s a household name, everybody knows about him, for whatever reason you know him for, and to catch a pass from him [in the charity game] I thought was pretty cool,” Barkley said. “And even though he’s not in the NFL anymore, and like you said with retweeting the videos of him working out, I mean that’s just like I think it’s cool he’s still working out and still waiting for his opportunity for a shot and when the shot comes, he’s showing he’s still gonna be ready for it. And as a man, I respect that.”
-Saquon Barkley
I don't have a problem with this at all.

No, its not. I know you'd like it to be because you seem to support that position, but most people just want to watch a game and not think about anything else. Sports are a form of entertainment. I think what Shim may be getting at is that all the details of sports (where stadiums are built, who gets broadcast in what areas, how much tickets cost, how jerseys get manufactured, etc.) are political. Thereby, the entertainment- which it surely is- is inherently political.

What's embarrassing is that everything Barkley supports (if he's another Kap) is that it's factually incorrect. It's been debunked many times over. But we know it's about emotions not facts or reason. It's a tantrum, really. Love the football player, but inside that adult body is a young boy that's in desperate need of wisdom. Let's hope he grows up fast. He just likes retweeting words that he thinks are "cool." Barkley is not at home studying these subjects intensely, I doubt it'll be a distraction on the field, he's a follower not an initiator.

Kid stands by his beliefs saying that I think Cap could have done things differently the cause is correct. It’s bs. If Beckham said this he would be getting roasted right now. But Captain America said it so it’s cool. It’s no big deal honestly, I read the article, and all he’s saying is value my opinion. The mistake he made was even if was right to say “I don’t care if I lose fans.” In the public eye doesn’t matter if you’re right, you’ll end up wrong in the eyes of some. So best option is to stay the hell away from toxic issues. Also, it would be nice to have the same criteria across the board when it comes to our players. Or former ones..
