Luckily Shurmer is a atudent of contemporary modern offenses and won't do this to Barkley Back then you had a GM that still though football was played the way it was in the 70s and a coach that while a bit old school would rather have had a vertical passing game and was as we found out contemporary to mid 90s football when he made that 1998 Falcon offense explosive with a career Journeyman and Anderson, and what he did with Vick in 2002.. Reeves had no choice because he was castrated by Brown, bad drafts,a ponderous unathletic team on both sides of the ball..which lead to 1995 era Rodney Hampton ball...basicy destroying him And there are fans that want to go back to this style.. You keep pressing this point.....I/we get it. I was simply stating my fan love for Rodney Hampton. I think he needs to tell you again. And if you’re lucky.. he’ll finish it off with a manifesto of traditional offenses of the 21st century.

You guys don't show Joe Morris enough love on this site. Since he appears to be the only Syracuse player that is going to pan out for us. lol 85 and 86, he was a joy to watch. Tiki, Rob Carpenter, Joe Morris. Those are my favorite backs. I liked Rodney Hampton and OJ Anderson, but those 3 got me really interested in playing football. I have a question for the older fans. I was looking at Joe Morris vs. Joe Morrison stats. I never watched Morrison play but I hear guys talking about him. Why is he considered great? His stats didn't seem very impressive, granted, the game was a lot different and yards were harder to come by. Morris vs. Morrison 5296 vs 2474 rushing yards 906 vs 4993 receiving Joe Morrison could, and did, play, and play well, virtually ALL the skill positions, both offense and defense.

Maurice Carthon. He was blcking for Herschel walker on the Generals....Very good FB Not to mention a secret weapon in the passing game. Every pass to him was an automatic 5 to 7 yards ...and on 1st down with that team was usually followed by a moving the chains type play

On the fence about Morris.
I loved Joe. He's is on my top 3 favorites of Giants RB's.
40 TD's in 85 and 86. Joe was a huge threat in our offense back then. But is two years enough to warrant ROH? Maybe not.
That is pretty much how I feel . For me it is the same with OJ Anderson

Yes but I’m biased. I loved watching him at Syracuse and with the Giants. He was a class act.

Not sure about the Ring...we’ve had a lot of awesome players that ain’t there. But I can remember Morris carrying that whole team on his back most games a couple of years. Ran him to death because our receivers weren’t really all that.

I'm a huge Joe Morris fan, but don't think he quite had the longevity for RoH. He does have the benefit of his best season coinciding with our Superbowl, so there is that.

Yes but I’m biased. I loved watching him at Syracuse and with the Giants. He was a class act. Yes he was but was he an all time great? IMO for the Giants he was. Tiki may have had more yards but Morris has a Super Bowl ring and was a big part of their success.
