They have looked great. But... What should be added is they have yet to play against an opponent who is a starter. I really wanted to see the guys play against the Bears front 7. But unfortunately Nagy pulled his guys before the game.
The Flowers, Omameh, Wheeler and Hart experiment are long gone. Hopefully these guys can help bring back the power running game of Giants football.

Good is an understatement. Folks continue to mention we're not going against starters, and they're correct, but in past years we also played against non-starters and looked poor. The writing was on the wall every year before the seasons started. This year, I'm confident the OL will hold their own.

Not just the starting Oline but ALL of the units... looks like they may have some depth. I also wonder how much Shurmur works with the Oline being that he played guard and center during his playing days.

Halapio gets a lot of backing from other then the Giants think Bently was giving him props. They are just a better bunch top to bottom, once they jell we will see even better play. Our last line got whupped by other teams 2s.

I like the upgrades, each spot is an upgrade from what we’ve had over the years. The true test will be week 1 against Dallas. That front 7 is solid across the board. It’s difficult to get excited or expect better results when the competition is all backups.

Our seconds look better than some of the O-line configurations we have had recently.

Let's see...the NYG starting OL against the Bear backups.
I should hope they'd do ok.

I miss those days to when they would pound teams into submission. One of the better ones was when they pounded the Ravens for like 240 yards I think it was 08 BJ I think Ward and Bradshaw BJ ran Ray Lewis into the ground that day. Awesome display of dominance.

We averaged 4.6 yds per carry, I saw power at the point of attack and push in the interior. 3rd and a short were converted with ease, as they should be in this league.

To me its not about the level of competition right now. Its the communication and assignments. This teams right side couldnt pick up a blitz or a twist/stunt until Jamon Brown and Wheeler were starting last season. So far, both sides of the line are working really well with each other. Youre gonna get beat one on one sometimes, especially against Elite players. Our problem was nobody was ever winning their one on one battles AND blowing assignments.
This offensive Line is clearly the best offensive line we have seen since what, 2009? Gettleman was not going to fix the offensive line in one season, but it sure as hell looks like he did in two.

We beat the Bears with our 1st 2nd and 3rd teams. They may not have their starters, but I'm not sure it would have made that much of a difference. I'm checking Chicago as a team we can beat.

Kruunch this is true we've played mostley vs #2's, but we need reps with this new line to work together no matter who is against us. And you can say a lot of times were going against non starters. However were still able to run and we haven't used Saquon one single time.
I feel the confidence of this unit is growing in leaps and bounds. Kruunch your right they look great in both pass protection and run blocking. This line is like night and day difference with what we've had the last couple of years. We can only be truly optimistic with the OL going into the season.

Preseason is to get your team ready for the season and to evaluate who will make the team. I can understand keeping some players from getting pounded before season starts but getting timing and adjusted to real play is important. I'd rather get players injured in preseason with time to heal than game 1 of the regular season. Chicago lost valuable time for the starters to work with the rest of their team. Their loss.

I wouldn't even think about evaluating this oline until game 3 of the regular season.

We have the 2nd easiest schedule this season as compared to the 2nd toughest last season so we should be markedly better than 5-11 if not and Jones doesn’t play at all this season it would be an indictment on Jones and also that Gettleman’s moves were utter failures. So people sipping the kool aid will try to put spin but don’t buy it. The Giants are 3-13, 5-11and another 5 or 6 win season this year is not improvement no matter what Gettleman try’s to sell you.

At worst (best) there is no excuse for not seeing Jones once we are eliminated from the playoff hunt...none. And I don't think Dave can explain that to the fan base.

I wouldn't even think about evaluating this oline until game 3 of the regular season. I agree. Our starting offensive line played against the back ups we won’t know what type of OL we have until at least week 3. Hopefully we get out of the gate hot and not another 0-3 which usually means you have like an 8% chance of making the playoffs. Basically another season over before we even get to Halloween.
