So BM ( I like to call him that...lol) has his take on the Jones pick and its not so good. He kind of dogs Jones but its what I would expect from a loud mouthed newbie in the NFL. I mean its not terrible but he needs to just STFU about it. Near our booth, a SportsCenter segment about the New York Giants catches Mayfield's eye. “I cannot believe the Giants took Daniel Jones,” Mayfield says, about New York's much-maligned draft-day decision to spend the sixth pick on the quarterback from Duke (whose college record was a measly 17–19). “Blows my mind.”
I tell Mayfield that I'm mystified that so many supposedly expert quarterback scouts seem unable to predict what makes a good NFL quarterback.
“Some people overthink it,” Mayfield says. “That's where people go wrong. They forget you've gotta win.”www.gq.com/story/baker-mayfield-is-feeling-dangerous-profile

This just stems from what fuels Mayfield. I like that about the guy. He has a chip on his shoulder that won’t go away. He’s probably never watched Jones play to actually trash him.

No news here . Mayfield proves his skills at Diarrhea of the mouth and Constipation of the brain evetime some baiter places a mic in front of his pie hole. I also glad he is not a Giant. He would have ruined the 94 year record of Class Acts at the starting Qb position.

last year I had kinda wished Mayfield would have ended up a Jet, because NY media would have destroyed that ego, and false sense of mediocrity. At least in Cleveland nobody cares about ego, because they've always been used to Lebron =P
Guess I should point out that I haven't been a big fan of Mayfield, lol

I'm sure BM can relate being his selection at #1 a couple of years ago surprised a lot of the "experts".

He was like 5’5 as a sophomore in HS. Then eventually took over and dominated and was underrecruited. He then walked on at Texas tech and told Kingsbury to go F himself basically he was sharing time with Davis Webb. Then walked into Oklahoma. Since then he’s basically seeker out criticism. Colin Cowherd trashed him going 1 and he’s been on his case since.

I was 5'5 as a sophomore and only grew an inch or two after that. I never had a chip on my shoulder. Then again I wasnt aspiring to be a pro athlete. The guys seems like he's ok but he has the propensity to be a dick head every now and then

I am trying to figure out why he's singled out just one other team for his running commentary on talent evaluation He is not talking about the Texans, Steelers, Raiders, Chargers, Bears etc etc.
Does anyone have an idea on why it seems to be just the Giants?

I assume OBJ but maybe he didn’t like Gettleman and Shurmur during the draft process last year.

He talks about the critical importance of big program experience...…….spoken like a guy with ONLY big program experience. In the process he shows what a moron he is by totally overlooking Phil Simms coming out of Morehead State.

Well the Browns do have the track record to **** the bed for the next 20 years after all they **** the bed for the last 20 years. But it might have taken them a half century but it finally looks like they have a very good team.
But it's the Browns, a lot of really high egos in that locker room. An inexperienced Head Coach, who to me doesn't seem like a very strong presence. So even with all the talent they've put together it's still the Browns.
5 minutes of Mayfield is like a week in jail with me.

I can see it now...
Reporter: "Daniel, Mayfield said it was crazy for the Giants to draft you #6...what is your response to that?"
Jones: "Who?"
If that happens the Eli/DJ comparisons will hit record levels!

Guess I should point out that I haven't been a big fan of Mayfield, lol On the Jets his put ass would have been humbled he wasn't having the success he had with a stacked Cleveland team. He was very lucky right place right time top 7 OL stud TE team augmented the WR group through the draft and free agency being they had a ton of picks in the top 50 2 in the top 5 and a ton of money under the cap.Yup the Jets would have been perfect bad OL he would have gotten his brains beat in maybe it would cure what ails him.

All he did is state an opinion, are we all forgetting what we were all saying on draft day? I stated that in my opening post that it wasnt that bad but... he is not a NYG fan sitting at his computer. He is an NFL QB dogging a fellow player who has yet to prove himself otherwise in the NFL. Big difference. What he said was douchy.......for sure. I bet if Dan Jones was asked about BM he would just say.."Had a great rookie season".

I remember the first thing Geno did at the podium post game was trash Rex Ryan. You can tell that the entire room was flabbergasted!
