Didnt more than half the board/giant fans say the same thing when we took jones at 6? (Which i think he would not have been there at 17)

Before everyone gets all angry and wants to throw chairs out the window (Apparently I’m too late) Read the article... All he did is state an opinion, are we all forgetting what we were all saying on draft day? I completely disagree . There is a difference between fans and a player form a different organization or any player making a comment on who should have been drafted an when. He chose to be a Piece of S### instead of taking the high road.

Me complaining about Jones is not the same as Mayfield talking shit in a QG article. He was being a douche.....plain and simple.

Anyway yeah he should probably kept it to himself. But i dont think he said anything about jones's play or ability, just where he was picked. He did mention winning ganes but i think he was saying to be a top 10 pick.

He's a good football player but more so a wise ass punk, he don't know didly about the NFL but he's yapping like he has won there for 10 years. would like to see him get smacked around here and there. keeps talking he's gonna get nailed defenses don't like being talked bad about and I'm sure he will start with the teams in his division.

This really doesnt bother me at all. I bet like 90% of players were shocked we went DJ over Haskins. Baker is a winner. He knows how to win. He pointed out DJs record of 17-19 and probably raised his eyebrows like "This is who the Giants think will win for them?".
Im sure he is no expert QB prospect analyst but then again who is? DJs college tapes left a lot to be desired. When I followed Baker last year, I saw all the makings of a determined winning QB (with some flare).
That said, I woundlnt put a lot of weight on his comments. Im sure he is still feeding Odell anti-Giant lines so they can jive in Cleveland.

So for every Giants fan who coveted him...this is what we would have gotten. Imagine Baker and Odell if the Browns aren't playing up to their lofty expectations. They'll eat each other through quotes in the media.
Odell: "I was excited to come here because of the quarterback. But we have to be on the same page to be successful and right now we're not."
Baker: "I don't normally say anything bad about my teammates. That's not the way I role. If you're on the same team, you have each other's back. You don't call them out in the media. That's the way I learned to play football so if somebody disagrees with that, then they shouldn't be on this team and I don't think once you've been traded, you'd wanted to get traded again."

Hence the reason he should probably refrain from saying anything. Honestly, the more I hear him talk, the more I wonder what the hell is running through his mind. The Browns did us a huge favor by taking him because it saved us the trouble of potentially having a talented quarterback who can't keep his foot out of his own mouth and we didn't have to spend a single minute wondering if we should have taken him over Saquon. I want high character guys, not these egotistical douche lords on teams full of egotistical douche lords who never win superbowls.

Baker shows his character, yes, but he isnt getting in any trouble. I do wonder how all those egos will act combined in Cleveland though. Im sure it will turn into a fiery beast of a dilemma managed by the one the only Freddy Kitchens. I cant imagine what some of you would think about LT and not wanting him on the team if he was being him now a days on the field and all his talk he talked.

I don't really care what Mayfield has to say about much of anything, but I would be upset if he was a Giant and running his mouth. It's just classless.

But he HAS gotten in trouble already...with his own teammates who were reportedly pissed at him for talking about another player's contract and implying that the player should go somewhere else if he didn't want to be there. And of course there was the crotch grabbing thing at Oklahoma the year before (no different from Odell end zone peeing). Right now the Duke Johnson contract is the only one that's gotten him in some trouble, but this is a sampling after just one year in the NFL and even the rookies who manage to act humble only get more brash when the become vets. Watch this guy get more and more ridiculous. I guarantee you there's more to come. Regarding Lawrence Taylor, it's pointless to imagine what anyone would have thought in a hypothetical scenario that would have surely created problems that didn't exist back then. LT wasn't the leader of the team, wasn't asked to be, and had no ability to be. The social media era would have no doubt caused a distraction, though. And I'm willing to bet it would have had a more negative affect.

All he did is state an opinion, are we all forgetting what we were all saying on draft day? In a lifetime years of watching football I'm not sure I've ever heard a player comment on the draft decisions of another franchise. Much less a QB criticizing the drafting of another fellow QB. That won't sit well with the NFL, players union and pretty much all the players.

This just stems from what fuels Mayfield. I like that about the guy. He has a chip on his shoulder that won’t go away. He’s probably never watched Jones play to actually trash him. why does have a chip? Was he ever dissed? The league is full of talkers.

Being a winner in college is a bit like being the fastest guy at a fat camp. “I played for a top school that had all top players and we kicked the crap out of a bunch of insurance agents, financial advisors and lawyers”. “Those sound like the credentials of an expert, tell us more”

He does need to learn how to control his emotional outbursts. It's not a good look. Lucky for him, he can play, or he'd be looking for a job pretty quickly.

No news here . Mayfield proves his skills at Diarrhea of the mouth and Constipation of the brain evetime some baiter places a mic in front of his pie hole. I also glad he is not a Giant. He would have ruined the 94 year record of Class Acts at the starting Qb position. Macadoo ruined that when he started Geno Smith... I remember the first thing Geno did at the podium post game was trash Rex Ryan. You can tell that the entire room was flabbergasted! I liked how Geno actually spoke his mind instead of giving some awwww shucks, PC answer. Odell has been repeatedly ripping the Giants and Eli in the media and Eli didn't have much more to say than "I've known Odell my whole life...I hope we can laugh about this someday." Cmon brother, Odell Jr. ripped the Giants, and disrespected the fans while Odell Sr. is ripping the ownership of the Giants on social media..and all you have to say is "I hope we can laugh at this." Was expecting more from Eli because he is great at delivering one liners. Mayfield always struck me as a self-absorbed, spoiled, diva. Cowherd is spot on about that guy.

He's right, they gotta win. The Browns have not done that in a long time. Go do it Mayfield, who cares who the Giants picked. All Jones has to do is go win also.

Before everyone gets all angry and wants to throw chairs out the window (Apparently I’m too late) Read the article... All he did is state an opinion, are we all forgetting what we were all saying on draft day? I stated that in my opening post that it wasnt that bad but... he is not a NYG fan sitting at his computer. He is an NFL QB dogging a fellow player who has yet to prove himself otherwise in the NFL. Big difference. What he said was douchy.......for sure. I bet if Dan Jones was asked about BM he would just say.."Had a great rookie season". someone just posted his record against teams with winning records 1- 5 59% completion 10 TDs 11 INTs he should worry more about the AFC North but him and WIM are very concerned with team they don't even play.
