Before everyone gets all angry and wants to throw chairs out the window (Apparently I’m too late) Read the article... All he did is state an opinion, are we all forgetting what we were all saying on draft day? i posted something similar. But yes. Lol giant fans booed and hissed now baker is the devil. I dont agree with him or the fans that didnt like the pick at 6. However them roasting mayfield is crazy. so Mayfield has dogged Jones and the NYGs fans yet he's still an ok guy that shouldnt be roasted by the fans... please....he is bringing all this crap on himself and it is well deserved.

This really doesnt bother me at all. I bet like 90% of players were shocked we went DJ over Haskins. Baker is a winner. He knows how to win. He pointed out DJs record of 17-19 and probably raised his eyebrows like "This is who the Giants think will win for them?". Im sure he is no expert QB prospect analyst but then again who is? DJs college tapes left a lot to be desired. When I followed Baker last year, I saw all the makings of a determined winning QB (with some flare). That said, I woundlnt put a lot of weight on his comments. Im sure he is still feeding Odell anti-Giant lines so they can jive in Cleveland. Baker was the only QB I wanted last year and I would still be happy if he were a Giant (though I wanted a trade down to stockpile picks more). That being said, I suspect he is just being careless with how he is saying a relatively benign statement. If he said, "I was surprised like many because I thought teams prioritized certain things like winning percentage more. Wish him luck in showing the Giants had it right, though," then no one would have even noticed. I don't expect many star athletes who have had to develop a cocky attitude just to survive would develope a tendency to choose words carefully, though. I wish him luck in developing that skill.

Macadoo ruined that when he started Geno Smith... I remember the first thing Geno did at the podium post game was trash Rex Ryan. You can tell that the entire room was flabbergasted! I liked how Geno actually spoke his mind instead of giving some awwww shucks, PC answer. Odell has been repeatedly ripping the Giants and Eli in the media and Eli didn't have much more to say than "I've known Odell my whole life...I hope we can laugh about this someday." Cmon brother, Odell Jr. ripped the Giants, and disrespected the fans while Odell Sr. is ripping the ownership of the Giants on social media..and all you have to say is "I hope we can laugh at this." Was expecting more from Eli because he is great at delivering one liners. Mayfield always struck me as a self-absorbed, spoiled, diva. Cowherd is spot on about that guy. Me too. I hate censorship, it can prevent folks from freely speaking their minds and revealing their ignorance, lack of class or both.

how is being a NYG's fan sitting in front of your computer pissing and moaning the same as an NFL QB dogging a fellow player who has yet to prove himself. Me complaining about Jones is not the same as Mayfield talking shit in a QG article. He was being a douche.....plain and simple. i dont think he said anything about jones's play or ability, just where he was picked. I'm sure you can figure out how that's not a compliment.

And with mayfields comments come the onslaught of douche canoes on social media trashing the giants.
I swear we're the most trashed team in football of late. I hate these morons.
God I hope we're good! I think we're a year or two from really contending, but man I hope even for a decent year and to beat some of the stronger teams on our schedule to shut these clowns up. its gonna be so sweet when we are good.
every person out there thinks all we did was unload our best players and now have nothing left

Being a winner in college is a bit like being the fastest guy at a fat camp. “I played for a top school that had all top players and we kicked the crap out of a bunch of insurance agents, financial advisors and lawyers”. “Those sound like the credentials of an expert, tell us more” He also won more games in Cleveland as a rookie QB in his rookie year than the Browns team did 3 years prior combined.

Not really that hard to do when your team had two of the worst years ever in the league and won 3 games in the "good year".

There are a lot of fans here that would love his swagger if he was the Giants QB, that are currently trashing him for it. We know this because, they did it to Odell. Do you consider them hypocrites? Or do you put them in the same mold as the people that bashed the Barkley and Jones pick but now love them? Honest question because I am not sure where I fall.

My bottom line on Mayfield
He was the best QB coming out last year, this year, and MAYBE next year.
He has a fiery attitude that can turn a bad team into a good team and change the environment for the good.
His mouth can write checks his ass can cash.
He is highly motivated and energized and that could be good when things are going well, but disastrous when things go bad.

Its not hard to take a 1 win team over a 2 year period to get them nearly .500 as a rookie QB? Ok....

Neither of those 2 are being trashed for character concerns. Just where they were picked and when they were picked

Mayfield was the only QB I wanted last year or I wanted a trade down to stockpile pile more picks for a team that is in desperate need of quality players.
With that said I think he would be better off not taking the interview bait and pass on any questions regarding other teams or players.

I still don't like either pick and I won't until the day they hold up the trophy. Every time the Giants picked in the top 4 these past 3 decades those players brought home championships and I feel that same requirement should continue.

Baker Mayfield is gong to have a busy day.... First, he gets to have his ass ripped by his Head Coach, GM and probably the owner. Then gets calls from the league, and player's union. And then, days of criticism from players, analysts and coaches and pretty much everyone around the NFL.
Apology written by someone else in 3, 2, 1....

Neither of those 2 are being trashed for character concerns. Just where they were picked and when they were picked Of course the jersey changes perceptions by fans. Although a ton of fans slammed Odell when he was here so I would need actual evidence that people bashing him now didn't bash him before. I seemed to be in the minority of people not bashing him when he played here. Seemed like most of the site bashed his character and loved his play, obviously they won't focus on this play now that it's not for us.
I don't get why it is ok to bash a player's perceived skill level and not his character though. People hated Jones as a player before the draft and suddenly like him after the draft. People here bashed Barkley's skill as well (more rare but I can name at least 1) and flipped once he was drafted. This is what most fickle fans do.
