Clearly he got bored of retirement real quick. Which I'm not surprised, it was said that he still wants to coach. Might not be in the pros but still doing what he loves. He helped us win 2 championships and probably has forgotten more about football than most will ever know. Hope it works out for him..

I have no problem with Gilbride, anything Vince Mcmahon related is junk.
Say what you want about the guy, but he's got a bunch of NFL guys working again.

I went to the first XFL game in San Francisco back in 2001.
Crap, that was about a week after the Giants got wrecked in the super bowl.
Anyway, I think He Hate Me was on the team. Stephanie McMahon was interviewing people in the stands.
The whole thing felt kind of sleezy. Cheerleaders were basically strippers. Seemed like a lot of Raider fans in Pac Bell Stadium...you know, people who would watch WWE.

The performers in the Circus get paid too . The other league the NFL had was professional, Canadian Football is professional,NFL Europe was professional ............................this is not. McMahon's = PT Barnum you can say what you want and have disdain for it and I probably wont watch it as I havent watch the other pro leagues much at all but it is a pro league no matter what you say. As far as a circus I think the NFL has done this already by placing the Raiders in Las Vegas. This is a bigger issue than the XFL as far as this sport becoming a fan spectacle/show more than it is a game.

but no fair catches and 2, yes 2 forward passes in one play.....it might do better than the AAFL did.... That was in the first incarnation wasn’t it? Have they come out and say it will be the same way? If not who is to say they haven’t learned from their mistakes from the last time? The XFL was crap and the WWE is crap nowadays (used to be a huge wrestling fan) but who knows?

AMERICA’S MOST POPULAR SPORT?
Football is football and we love football. It is not to be messed with too much, as it works. But, we believe that there is room for some tweaks. Some adjustments. Ways to make it a bit faster. Less Stall, More Ball. Reimagining the game doesn’t mean we’re changing the basics: You’ll still see 11 vs. 11 football we all know and love. You will see it played on a 100 yard field with 10 yard end zones. You will see players fight every play, 4 downs at a time. But, XFL football will focus on four core areas of refresh. We plan to minimize idle time and speed up game time. We will increase on-field action. We are going to create in-game rhythm and flow. And we are going to use tech and insight to improve player safety, wherever possible. No easy task, but we are IN.
HOW ARE WE DOING IT?
You don’t accomplish anything in football unless you work hard, and as a team. In that vein, Commissioner Luck has tapped many of football’s most elite minds and luminaries for their input and recommendations, convening multiple meetings of his Football Reimagined Committee (FRC) to get down to the business of reimagining football. We are having conversations with Super Bowl coaches, legendary athletes, and sports-medicine and technology brainiacs. Through their guidance, advice, our extensive research, and live testing, we can and will produce a faster, entertaining brand of football.
WHAT WILL THE XFL LOOK LIKE WHEN IT LAUNCHES?
Faster, with more plays, less stall, fewer interruptions and no gimmicks. We’re sifting through the thousands of suggestions and recommendations we’ve received from fans, players, coaches and experts on ways to improve the game. Bottom line: every element of the game is under review to see where we can make improvements. We are already field-testing each potential change and if we approve it, you will see it. If not, it’s trash.

XFL is considered "pro" football league.....just sayin' No,......no it's not. Players getting a paycheck makes it professional...not our (likely accurate) assumption that its going to be a subpar product.

Players getting a paycheck makes it professional...not our (likely accurate) assumption that its going to be a subpar product. While fans might find the NFL entertaining they have players that get paid . XFL pays it's entertainers, ............not players. I'm not really sure what youre insinuating. Obviously, the XFL contracts are not going to be as lucrative. But, kids coming out of college, who maybe are not NFL talents have an opportunity to play for 50k - 250k plus bonuses. Are you expecting a startup to drop $30mm/yr contracts on franchise QBs? Not sure where that money would come from.

Players are paid $250,000. It's pro football. thats actually the max contract for only 3 players per team, but...yes...they are paid, thus they are professionals. salaries range from 50k up to 250k not including performance incentives.

So, Eli is playing for the Guardians next season? Eli is low hanging fruit even I have officially moved on from trashing him. It’s over for him after this season even if John Mara wants him here until the end of days.

why would he want that? He got blamed for the "broken offense" when it was that Eli was on the decline. lol he just was interviewed and said Manning never solved problem with his feet he needed and had a good OL. He won with his head and arm and went on to say that he thinks he's going to have a resurgence if the OL is fixed. Think he kind of pointed his finger right at the front office why he couldn't run his offense with2 seconds to throw and 0 run game Roonie you are slipping.
