If it all goes to plan he starts against AZ at home. The Cardinals are terrible and it’s at home, and it’s a good enough sample size 6 games to see where the season is going.

If all goes to plan, he doesn't see the field this year because the Giants are winning games and in playoff contention with Manning. THAT is the plan.

If all goes to plan, he doesn't see the field this year because the Giants are winning games and in playoff contention with Manning. THAT is the plan. We used our # 1 offseason asset on Jones. We traded our franchise player and best pass rusher. The plan is building a foundation of a perennial winner. They’d be happy to win now, but winning now is absolutely not what this plan has been about. The league is built for parody if young guys come on quick we can certainly be a solid team, but when Eli took over for Warner the team was 5-4. This 19 team is in the same spot as that 04 team. The guys making up the bulk of this roster are guys who will play more games here with Jones than Eli. This is Jones’ team it’s just a matter of when. And soon is very likely the when. Giants have a soft September schedule, if they want Eli out there for long, they need to seize the day early.

I wish day one but I think they're going to let Manning have his farewell tour

But we’re taking REALISTICALLY right now. 6 out of 7 losing seasons would say the plan is to start the rebuild sooner than later.

We’re rebuilding yet we aren’t, it’s a Seinfeld episode.

Jones should start as soon as Shurmur thinks he is ready. I'm hoping that's week 1 of this season, it sure looks like Jones is ready.
We don't owe Eli anything, and I don't really care if he can dink-and-dunk and hand the ball of to Barkley his way to the playoffs. I don't see the point of having Eli on the field, he's on the tail end of his career and isn't the future of the franchise.

LOL, ....of course you would. Well yes of course I would I just said I would. We are coming off 8-24 and took him # 6. Eli gets a couple games to put 2019 on track and if he does he gets to keep playing while it’s on track. It it comes off the hinges because of Eli or for whatever reasons it’s time to think bigger picture. I agree. Manning's play will have little to do with the decision. I think it will be team play. Once the team is eliminated or effectively eliminated I expect Jones to start. The only reason I'd keep Manning in under these circumstances is if it's the OL and the QB is taking a lot of hits. As long as there is OL protection for the QB, I'd get the kid in.
