1 year ago today I lost my dad, the biggest Giant fan I ever met. I miss you pops....especially our Sunday bonding Thanks to this board for all the in depth talk, especially with the draft..... making that sting a lot less painful on Sundays Giant fans are like family. Sure, a very dysfunctional family, but still a family when all things are said and done. 2: R1P2 EDGE CHASE YOUNG OHIO STATE Can't not draft this generational player...and yeah, Thomas as OT is still neck and neck, but...this guys good...amazingly good. 40: R2P8 C TYLER BIADASZ WISCONSIN Had to go Tyler here...steps in and starts day 1....that is a guarantee. Upgraded and new leader of the OL 77: R3P13 DL MARVIN WILSON FSU Sorry Kase, but tWilson with Williams ...and Young, will create an awesome DL...with rotational freshness and different looks. Wilson should have been a top 15 player, but the team he plays on is not quite good...he faces doubles every week and still can do 1 tech and 3 tech work...a VERY talented player. 83: R3P19 LB DYLAN MOSES ALABAMA ACL has him dropping...you want an inside linebacker, he's the best in college and the easy choice here. 98: R3P34 OT LUCAS NIANG TCU 6'7 and 330 pounds of athletic beauty...does NOT GET BEAT. Will be rising up these boards... 114: R4P8 WR JALEN REAGOR TCU Same flash receiver... 146: R5P2 OT YASIR DURANT MISSOURI Tackles, tackles, tackles...another solid one. He's all over the boards..now dropping a bit. 148: R5P4 CB JEFF GLADNEY TCU Super athletic corner...easy choice here. 180: R6P2 S J.R. Poignant words aris, and especially around this time of year when the games would take on more meaning while the hollidays are in full swing.Cherish your time spent with him and the 4 super bowls in sure you both watched together...
Finally have us at 2.
Usual ultimate GM moves Williams and Golden resigned
Signing Byron Jones and Conklin I used the top Fanspeak board and some interesting changes I noticed and it forced me at times to have to deviate from what I was doing the past month
R1P4 EDGE CHASE YOUNG OHIO STATE
The Dolphins were in a very giving mood,so I got the ultimate prize and 2 more picks in the top 40. Defense changing player
22: R1P22 WR CEEDEE LAMB OKLAHOMA
I've been preaching how deep this draft class is for dynamic WRs and have altered my draft strategy to loading up on as much trench meat as possible and harvest my playmakers day 3 However,Lamb is my draft crush and is is now ranked 9 on this particular board, and browsing the big board into round 2,and Baedaz taken a pick ahead of me here.No brainer. Lamb,Slayton,Tate,Shepard,Engram,Barkley Now this is firepower for Jones
36: R2P4 OT ISAIAH WILSON GEORGIA
A trade back with all these tackles available
I actually think this guy could play LT eventually, but he pushes Conklin for playing time and gives us a fresh line(being we have so much cap space I gave Conklin 80% of his guarenteed money this year so we could delete after year 1 if needed, maybe trade bait in 2021?
48: R2P16 OT PRINCE TEGA WANOGHO AUBURN
Not a bad problem to have, especially with Soldier fading
80: R3P16 S ANTOINE WINFIELD MINNESOTA
Ball hawk to add to our young secondary
87: R3P23 RB TRAVIS ETIENNE CLEMSON
He had a ranking of 33 on this big board I'm thinking with an improved O line another dynamic playmaker that could score from anywhere If you watch San Fran they run power football with exotic blocking schemes with smaller but really fast backs that are all great in the passing game. Wearing out the defense in the modern version of smash mouth running now equates to teams extending leads like a pinball machine in the late 3rd quarter or later by as much as 3 touchdowns while milking clock
92: R3P28 LB ZACH BAUN WISCONSIN
Ranked number 95 on this board Adding this guy to Young,Connelly,Carter,Mayo,Golden and X man behind Williams,Lawrencd and Tomlinson..this is an instant top 7 front 7 and this defense takes a huge leap
108: R4P2 WR DENZEL MIMS BAYLOR
Ranked 111 on this board,no more waiting to mr irrelevant for this guy,the secret is out.
Replacing Fowler and Latimer with 2 rookies from this deep class is the plan Replacing them with Lamb and Mims..holy crap
146: R5P2 OT LUCAS NIANG TCU
Ranked 130 3 tackles? Why not, this guy is very solid, maybe one moves over to guard and eventually replaces Zeitler. BPA on the line ...yep
180: R6P2 C JAKE HANSON OREGON
Wanted to get a C much earlier, didn't work out that way Has starting potential, pushes Pio and Pulley at least
215: R7P2 G TOMMY KRAEMER NOTRE DAME
More depth inside
TRADES TRADE PARTNER: CLEVELAND BROWNS SENT: ROUND: 2 PICK: 2 RECEIVED: ROUND: 2 PICK: 16 ROUND: 3 PICK: 16 ROUND: 3 PICK: 23 TRADE PARTNER: MIAMI DOLPHINS SENT: ROUND: 1 PICK: 2 RECEIVED: ROUND: 1 PICK: 4 ROUND: 1 PICK: 22 ROUND: 2 PICK: 4 TRADE PARTNER: NEW ORLEANS SAINTS SENT: ROUND: 3 PICK: 34 ROUND: 7 PICK: 28 ROUND: 7 PICK: 34 ROUND: 7 PICK: 40 ROUND: 7 PICK: 42 RECEIVED: ROUND: 3 PICK: 28

My "silly Saturday " draft..usually done while liquored up
So
I decided I wanted the Bengals number 1 pick because I wanted it..
So I started out with the top 2 picks
One trade back with Miami
My ultimate GM was a bit different because knowing I'd probably get both Young and Thomas no need for a vet RT so that money was saved I still resigned Golden and Williams and my usual purchase of Byron Jones
R1P2 EDGE CHASE YOUNG OHIO STATE
Got my jewel for my defense
4: R1P4 OT ANDREW THOMAS GEORGIA
This along with Young is a devastating first 30 minutes of the draft for the rest of the league
22: R1P22 WR HENRY RUGGS III ALABAMA
Luxury pick knowing I can get more trench meat day 2 that will start and adds a dynamic threat opposite Slayton (Lamb went 12)
34: R2P2 C TYLER BIADASZ WISCONSIN
Beginning to not be fair for the rest of the NFL,adding him to the line
36: R2P4 OT ISAIAH WILSON GEORGIA
The question is,do we dare start 3 rookies on the O line or let Wilson sit behind Thomas if they decide to let Thomas start out at RT This is possibly a top 3 O line now in 2021
68: R3P4 WR JALEN REAGOR TCU
Speed kills, and Mims went to New England 3 picks ahead of me.Are you kidding?2 guys with sub 4.3 speed,Slayton in a 3 WR set with Engram and Barkley and a top O line?
98: R3P34 LB ZACH BAUN WISCONSIN
Let's fortify the interior of the defense 2md level
108: R4P2 RB NAJEE HARRIS ALABAMA
Marion Barber with better skillsets in the passing game .no drop off and offense is still unpredictable
Rest of these are BPA 146: R5P2 WR JAMES PROCHE SMU 180: R6P2 CB ESSANG BASSEY WAKE FOREST 215: R7P2 RB TREY SERMON OKLAHOMA 241: R7P28 DL ROBERT LANDERS OHIO STATE 247: R7P34 TE HARRISON BRYANT FLORIDA ATLANTIC 253: R7P40 CB MIKE HAMPTON SOUTH FLORIDA 255: R7P42 QB STEVEN MONTEZ COLORADO
TRADES TRADE PARTNER: MIAMI DOLPHINS SENT: ROUND: 1 PICK: 1 RECEIVED: ROUND: 1 PICK: 4 ROUND: 1 PICK: 22 ROUND: 2 PICK: 4 ROUND: 3 PICK: 4
Nighty night...

Chase Young was held to no tackles and no sacks against Michigan...LT Jon Runyan Jr took care of him one on one and the right side used two blockers when he went on the other side...believe it was guard - tackle...hmmmmm, on his big game invisibility and a big hmmmmmm on Mr. Runyan...would Michael Strahan approve of having the son playing for the Giants? Scouts suggest he needs to get stronger
But....Junior looked great.
Alabama is a mess....I don't see them making the 4 in the playoffs.

Somehow they still have us at 3 Ultimate GM Resign Golden and William's Sign Byron Jones and Conklin 4: R1P4 OT ANDREW THOMAS GEORGIA Young went number 1 overall, took a gamble to move back a spot for more day 2 picks and get Thomas Not a bad consolation prize to have LT locked up for a decade 36: R2P4 EDGE CURTIS WEAVER BOISE STATE 45: R2P13 Missed out on Young, throw him into the edge rush rotation with Golden and X man C CREED HUMPHREY OKLAHOMA Starting 2020 day one C 51: R2P19 LB KENNETH MURRAY OKLAHOMA Back to back Sooners, add to the linebacker mix 59: R2P27 RB CLYDE EDWARDS-HELAIRE LSU Perfect compliment for Barkley with no drop off in the passing game 93: R3P29 S TERRELL BURGESS UTAH Traded up early to target a few players I didn't think would last, got a safety to add to the mix 109: R4P3 WR JALEN REAGOR TCU The piece that opens up the entire offense. With an actual now on paper legit good line he will have the same effect Marquis Brown has on the Ravens.. Speed kills in the modern NFL 147: R5P3 WR SAGE SURRATT WAKE FOREST This was a mistake,I was trying to select Gibson from Memphis..hit this guy instead I hear he is good,Gibson would have been a bigger guy with great speed and great on kick returns. 181: R6P3 G JON RUNYAN MICHIGAN I'm pretty sure this is the son of John Runyon ap some good hog Mollie blood limes Some depth and with Zeitler's contract up after 2021 a good idea to be proactive developing his replacement 216: R7P3 WR DENZEL MIMS BAYLOR Ranked 351 Atletic freak that has a chip on his shoulder being taken so low TRADES TRADE PARTNER: MIAMI DOLPHINS SENT: ROUND: 1 PICK: 3 RECEIVED: ROUND: 1 PICK: 4 ROUND: 2 PICK: 4 ROUND: 2 PICK: 27 TRADE PARTNER: CHICAGO BEARS SENT: ROUND: 2 PICK: 3 RECEIVED: ROUND: 2 PICK: 13 ROUND: 2 PICK: 19 TRADE PARTNER: BALTIMORE RAVENS SENT: ROUND: 3 PICK: 34 ROUND: 7 PICK: 27 ROUND: 7 PICK: 34 ROUND: 7 PICK: 40 ROUND: 7 PICK: 42 RECEIVED: ROUND: 3 PICK: 29 Not familiar with Burgess, is he more of a SS or FS?? Is he better in the box or roaming the backfield??

What big board has Wirfs as a guard?...and in the 2nd round? Yeah, nice top 2 picks there. The edge protection is set for 10 years with Mr. Jones. Yeah Guard? In the 2nd? Wirfs has legit NFL athletic skills for OT,he isn't a stubby armed player that's a future guard like Scherff or Gallery was That indeed would be a sick draft albeit this means we are trotting back Halipio/Pulley at C again Yea i have no idea. He could be a RT day1 in the NFL, but if by the grace of God he drops to the 2nd and we could get our bookend OTs for at least a decade would be MAGICAL. Yea, still not sure how to address C. While Biadasz is 1 of my favorite prospects, ya GOTTA go Wrifs over him

LOVE the 1st 2 picks in this one, it was tough but also easy picking Wrifs over Shenault. I cant imagine having our OTs being Thomas and Wrifs, if DG pulls that off ill never doubt the man again 3: R1P3 OT ANDREW THOMAS GEORGIA 35: R2P3 G TRISTAN WIRFS IOWA 98: R3P34 WR TYLER JOHNSON MINNESOTA 109: R4P3 WR SAGE SURRATT WAKE FOREST 147: R5P3 TE GRANT CALCATERRA OKLAHOMA 181: R6P3 S REGGIE FLOYD VIRGINIA TECH 216: R7P3 LB CHAZZ SURRATT NORTH CAROLINA 240: R7P27 G SHANE LEMIEUX OREGON 247: R7P34 LB SHAQ QUARTERMAN MIAMI 253: R7P40 OT COLE VAN LANEN WISCONSIN 255: R7P42 RB KYLIN HILL MISSISSIPPI STATE How did Shaq Quarterman drop that far in your draft? I had him in the 2nd round. Its weird, he either gets drafted in the 2nd or the 7th, so i dunno what to think. IMO hes a big lumbering ILB who isnt great at coverage. I sure as hell would nt take him in the 2nd

That is too high of a pick for pure depth, between Lawrence, Tomlinson, Williams, and i guess Hill, theres no room for him. I guess id be cool if it was a 4th or later, but 13th in the 3rd is too high IMO. Maybe my Bama bias is getting the best of me but I dont want anything to do with Moses, id much rather Troy Dye from Oregon, you KNOW he isnt just a prodyct of the system. Im becoming a big fan of Ashtyn Davis, but im seeing him go from the 2nd round to the 7th. While hes not a banger who will lay the hammer in run support, he is a smart rangy safety who is totally comfortable being the 1 high guy. Him and Reggie Floyd from Va tech and Myles Dorn from NC are becoming my fav FS options, but hey, who knows Love might sbow us he can be a starter

I think Strahan would be honored to have him in Giants blue, while Runyan and Stray had some EPIC BATTLES, there was always a level of respect. Id take Runyan later in the draft based on genetics alone, doesnt hurt hes actually a good player and virtually shut dow the best defensive player in college

So this is with the newly released rankings on fanspeak
2: R1P2 EDGE CHASE YOUNG OHIO STATE Dude is an immediate upgrade with our pass rush. He is the most intriguing pass rusher we've had since JPP or even Osi, he could revitalize our defense and our secondary from his pass rush alone.
34: R2P2 S GRANT DELPIT LSU The most complete Safety prospect, cant believe he dropped to the 2nd, not a big hitter, but he does EVERYTHING else great. He would be an instant upgrade allowing us to use Love in the slot, or allowing us to use Peppers as our ace in the hole. Delpit is a ballhawk, a coverage expert, a good blitzer, this guy does it all
98: R3P34 OT LUCAS NIANG TCU Big bodied OT who has extremely nimble feet, this guy doesnt get beat. Doesnt really get much push in the run game but he more so 'neutralizes' his opponents. He can mirror his opponent, he can keep up with speed rushers, and drop the anchor on bull rushers. Easily 1 of the top OT prospects this year
108: R4P2 C DARRYL WILLIAMS MISSISSIPPI STATE Not the most athletic guy out there but boy does he give that extra effort. Dude lives to play through the whistle, he sets his block and looks for the next guy to impose his will on. He just looks like he's having a great time kicking people's asses. Not really the most athletic or quick guy out there but you know he gives 110 percent ever play
146: R5P2 LB TROY DYE OREGON Blindingly fast LB who can cover sideline to sideline with ease. great cover guy who excels in space. Ample blitzer.
180: R6P2 WR TYLER JOHNSON MINNESOTA Great hands, smooth route running, outstanding body control, kind of reminds me of a healthy sterling sheppard. Not really a physical WR but still gets the job done
215: R7P2 RB ZACK MOSS UTAH Dude runs like Jacobs 2.0, he LOOKS for contact, he wants to hurt you, he wants to run you over, and he's on offense, LOL. Reads his blocks well and shoots for day light. Willing blocker. He would be a great complimentary back with SQB, Moss wears you down and Saquon zips by you
241: R7P28 S ASHTYN DAVIS CALIFORNIA Cant believe he was here in the 7th, when some guys have him ranked going in the 2nd. I dont get it, is it because he's a rangy coverage safety who just happens to be white, LOL i dont get it. Good speed, great coverage skills, totally comfortable with being the single high safety.
247: R7P34 TE MITCHELL WILCOX SOUTH FLORIDA Smooth route runner, willing to take hits over the middle of the field, willing blocker, excellent hands, looks like a WR in the open field running his routes
253: R7P40 G MEKHI BECTON LOUISVILLE OOZING with potential, dude is 6'7 369lbs, he is a mountain. very inconsistent, but when he's on wow he looks good. Not a day 1 starter but with proper coaching he could be a perennial pro bowler
255: R7P42 EDGE ALTON ROBINSON SYRACUSE Speaking of oozing with potential, Robinson is a blur off the line, but doesnt really have any counter moves, and almost always trys to rush the outside. Good pass rusher and good run stuffer. DID have issues off the field i believe he was charged in a robbery

YOUR PICKS 1: R1P2 OT ANDREW THOMAS GEORGIA Do I really have to say much, he is the best LT prospect to come out in years. Pass pro, run pro, strength, agility, etc, everthing you want a LT to do he does, and he does it better than anyone else in the draft
2: R2P2 EDGE CURTIS WEAVER BOISE STATE Explosive 1st step, great hands, comfortable enough in coverage, just as good pass rusher as he is a run stopper, nice repertoire of pass rush moves, can win inside or outside with his rush
3: R3P34 LB TROY DYE OREGON
4: R4P2 C LLOYD CUSHENBERRY LSU Great competitiveness, excellent athleticism, looks for contact and loves to fight through the whistle, could use more experience, outstanding combo blocker, very aware in pass pro. 3rd fav Center prospect this year after Biadasz and Humphrey
5: R5P2 WR TYLER JOHNON MINNESOTA
180: R6P2 S MYLES DORN NORTH CAROLINA Great football iq, excellent at deciphering plays, more comfortable at free safety but CAN play strong safety if needed, great cover safety and can play 1 high as the centerfield
215: R7P2 RB TREY SERMON OKLAHOMA He is like Zach Moss lite, he loves to bash heads, he loves to block, and he loves contact. Not really a homerun hitter but will get those necessary yards on the inside. He is a good compliment to Saquon's flash and speed
241: R7P28 TE HARRISON BRYANT FLORIDA ATLANTIC More so a glorified WR who operates mostly out of slot, absolute mismatch for people trying to cover him, not the best blocker, but he gives it a college try, LOL. Great receiving option, surprising catch radius, hasnt really been tested in terms of route running
247: R7P34 OT YASIR DURANT MISSOURI 6'7 330lbs, insanely athletic especially for a guy his size, dude OOZES potential, bullys people in run blocking, doesnt move an inch when he drops the anchor, shorter wingspan, doesnt have alot of experience
253: R7P40 S NIGEL WARRIOR TENNESSEE He can play the slot, the deep zones, in the box. Very comfortable in coverage anywhere on the field, but also loves the physical play. Not really a ballhawk even though he excels in coverage, doesnt take great angles to the ball alot of the times
255: R7P42 C GAGE CERVENKA CLEMSON SUPER strong, loves to impose his will, good anchor, however... he is extremely raw, doesnt stay square to his opponent, needs to work on footwork, needs to work on hand placement, really needs to figure out the technical aspects of the game

Correct me , if I am wrong. Giants traded there third round pick for L. Williams . Then , why most have a third round selection . Without a trade scenario.

Baylor vs Oklahoma on the TV... and mocking drafts...weekend now in session I am reading some responses regarding the DG trade of some picks for a underperforming top DT pick rental, and suggesting the picks are a so what situation. I have yet to see a NFL team rebuild through free agency and "trades" ... in the NFL, rebuilding is always done through the draft, and accumulating picks for the percentages ... and drafting well.
Those picks, an early 3 and early 5/4 on this rebuilding NY Giants team were pure gold...assinine trade for a player I doubt I'd even pursue in open free agency. Went all wrestler here on the OL...Wirfs and Humphrey create the all UFC OL...added to Hernandez ...we will have a new attitude when we block. 0: R1P10 OT TRISTAN WIRFS IOWA 20: R1P20 S ISAIAH SIMMONS CLEMSON 40: R2P8 CB SHAUN WADE OHIO STATE 42: R2P10 C CREED HUMPHREY OKLAHOMA 73: R3P9 WR TYLER JOHNSON MINNESOTA 74: R3P10 WR DENZEL MIMS BAYLOR 98: R3P34 LB ZACH BAUN WISCONSIN 108: R4P2 RB CLYDE EDWARDS-HELAIRE LSU 115: R4P9 LB TROY DYE OREGON 116: R4P10 OT LUCAS NIANG TCU 146: R5P2 LB JACOB PHILLIPS LSU 180: R6P2 CB ESSANG BASSEY WAKE FOREST 215: R7P2 EDGE TREVON HILL MIAMI 241: R7P28 TE LUKE FARRELL OHIO STATE 247: R7P34 OT YASIR DURANT MISSOURI 253: R7P40 CB TROY PRIDE JR. This is the "we missed out on Young" "strategic reach " draft...in that I reached for a few players I feel will be a lot higher on draft boards than they currently are.
As usual I resign Williams and Golden and sign Conklin and Byron Jones
Some comments on these picks
R1P10 EDGE K'LAVON CHAISSON LSU
I really think when it's all said and done he will be the 2nd edge rusher off the board and he has dominated this year A slightly smaller version of Hunter from the Vikings,he would be ideal for us in our 3/4.Also sets the edge nice and is disruptive on non pass rush plays. Him plus the draft assets in a trade back wouldn't be a bad consolation prize for missing out on Young
20: R1P20 C TYLER BIADASZ WISCONSIN 37: R2P5
No it's not too early for a C.. Modern NFL,the interior of the line has to be dominant, those RPO runs up the middle(which sets up the entire offense)are useless if you have a weak link there. This guy was dominating the first 3 quarters of that game vs Ohio State and springing Taylor.Think of how dynamic and our offense becomes with a dominant center.
OT PRINCE TEGA WANOGHO AUBURN
Was torn between him or the other T from Georgia.I went for they guy with the above average upside at LT ...he pushes Soldier next year
61: R2P29 G MEKHI BECTON LOUISVILLE
This was more a BPA pick.I didn't like what was sitting there at WR (missed out on Reagor by 3 picks) or LB..so decided to get Zeitler's replacement a year or 2 early and have some nice depth inside
74: R3P10 RB CLYDE EDWARDS-HELAIRE LSU
Perfect compliment to Barkley, smallish compact angry quick with top end skills in the receiving game. Offense keeps its unpredictable nature with a guy like this
98: R3P34 LB ZACH BAUN WISCONSIN
Perfect ILB next to Connelly, really good at going foward, shooting gaps and blitzing
108: R4P2 WR DENZEL MIMS BAYLOR
He probably goes higher just on the height/speed/post catch/ball skills ability alone..a rare big bodied reciever that excels in route running and post catch ability for the modern game
146: R5P2 OT LUCAS NIANG TCU
This is a steal here and some good depth at T
180: R6P2 WR K.J. HILL OHIO STATE
All time leading receptions leader and somehow irrelevant on the draft boards. He is your typical Ohio State reciever that has mad speed, route running ability and post catch skills. To get another potential dynamic playmaker this deep in the draft is a gift for Jones and this offense
215: R7P2 TE COLBY PARKINSON STANFORD
Braden Smith went in the 7th. His teammate is a clone of him. Having Engram,Smith and Parkinson on this roster could be interesting when Engram's contract comes up
241: R7P28 LB SHAQUILLE QUARTERMAN MIAMI
Why is this guy always available in the 7th?Thank you very much
247: R7P34 QB K.J. COSTELLO STANFORD
This guy was a 1st/2nd round prospect entering this year We need to develop a young backup qb that can fill in 4 or so games Perfect developmental prospect
253: R7P40 CB MIKE HAMPTON SOUTH FLORIDA
BPA
255: R7P42 WR QUINTEZ CEPHUS WISCONSIN
BPA,and the fact he was getting seperation against possible NFL level corners 1 on 1.
