I was all for the picking Saquon because I was in the group that thought Eli has one run left and that SB could be a very good piece to achive that. Obviously I was totally wrong and then some. For those who didnt want that pick at #2 you were 100% correct. With that said speaking in him just an NFL RB his injuries and this team are his biggest issues hands down. If SB was a better run team/org and didnt have serious injuries he'd be an All-Pro and one of the best in the NFL. Some top notch players get hosed by injury and the team that they are a part of. Thats life in the NFL. Look at OBJ.....gets bounced from the NYGs for being a asshat multpile times, goes to the Browns and they ditch him. All of a sudden he is/was healthy for the Rams, catching TDs, being very productive and then tops it off with a Super Bowl TD catch and ring. In that same context he is now injured again. and yes OBJ was gonna tear that SB up!! I feel he had a great chance of being MVP the way he started that game

Imagine if the Rams had the " Threat" of Saquon on their squad. And imagine him splitting out with OBJ, Kupp, Woods, Jefferson!!! I actually had visions of him being used with Odell and company back then and then I believe Odell got hurt and then Saquon was hurt; then Odell was gone.......... I hope the Rams and other teams feel the same way you do and he gets a massive contract in FA. Barkley and Odell are very injury prone....

The Giants should hold onto him until he leaves. No reason to trade a 5th for him and that's probably his worth at this point.

You can create any scenario you want. Saquon is an oft injured player on a bad team. Thats the reality. OB acted poorly and caused his own issues. He's lucky he was able to go to the Rams. Now another ACL. He will be in another team after his recovery

Here is the plan for Saquon.
Trade him now.
Or;
Let him walk as an FA and plan things so as to gain a comp pick.
I don’t care if he has the greatest season ever for a RB. His days as a Giant are numbered and will be over with within the next year.

Barkley will be evaluated by Schoen and I'm sure it will be mainly numbers that decide his fate. The Giants need to put a microscope to everything and everybody.

Second contracts for RBs are a waste of money. A team that can afford to burn the cash will sign him. As long as they get picks for Barkley (now, or comp later) they’ve gotten all there is to get out of him for where this team is at. He doesn’t have a future here. And it doesn’t really have anything to do with how well he plays.

Haha, I thought this one might show up again. I have more cringey ones that could be dug up. Greedy Williams, Will Hernandez, Justin Gilbert, etc. what about judge the new parcels posts?

Trade him now. He is not helping us win more games..RBs are fungible. They are like the shiny new BMWs that look and ride great when its new but break down often after you buy them and cost a $$$$$ to fix. I would trade him for a couple of used Toyotas and a Honda CRV...
Besides on the used (pre-owned) rb market you can pick up a couple for not too much money. Get them cheap on the aftermarket

We both know giving him a big contract is insane. On the surface you don't re-sign him but I don't think you get much for him in a trade anyway.

Use him this year to his strengths behind a capable Oline and then decide what to do.

So if he rushes for 2000+yds behind an improved OL & 15 rush TDs plus another 5TDs rec, you guys still want him gone after 22'??

If that happens everyone who was off the SB train will be back on the train. I don't see the 2000+ yds actually happening but not impossible either. It would be a very interesting situation if it happened.

For the Giants it's a bad proposition to tie up money on an rb when you are just starting a rebuild.we are not a rb away from a ring we are a whole offense and half a defense away from one. I would rather keep getting rbs day1 or 2 of the draft than resigning or signing one in FA. Rbs,Wrs and TEs are burn and churn positions.

Find me a RB where that use of cap dollars was worth the investment. Also find me a RB who performed well after putting up a “historic” season. I’d get rid of him now, but would be ok if they can net a comp pick later.

He can put up the greatest ever season for a RB and it will not mean much for the future of this TEAM

I think Barkley is goner than people think. Look for a draft day trade. No way they pay him huge dollars even if he has a great year, unless he’s willing to take a hometown discount.

I'm interested to see Barkley after a healthy off-season. It's been a minute.
