I’m 50/50 on it. Still think he has enough in the tank to be a complimentary option. I think it’s worth the risk if it’s a team friendly contract.
I’ve seen various reports he wants to be on the giants so maybe we can get him cheap. Give him a contract w incentives, but at the same time have language in the contract that alllows us to cut him w no reprocussions If he acts up etc.
1 year deal, prove it. Not much to lose imo. 3-13 last year

I think Dez might have the TO issue where it's all about him and just never pans out, they should have enough receivers on the roster.

I know I’m in the minority here but I think Dez would be great for the right price. I’m not worried about Dez and OBJ, the fact that they are already friends and train together says a lot. I also think Dez would be a perfect red zone threat that Eli could thrive with and one we currently don’t have. Again, this is all assuming we can get him cheap for a one or two year deal. I’m also hoping his be let go in Dallas was a bit of a wake up call and he’ll hopefully tune down his antics.

Drops too many passes. Not worth it for a guy who may get 5 looks a game.

I see no reason to do anything regarding our WR's from here on. We're pretty strong, especially with Engram included. Don't forget that we addd Cody Lattimer who is a pretty solid vet. Plus our young guys. Lattimer is a better, younger version of Dwayne Harris.

Did we already cut Marshall or do we still have him?

Did we already cut Marshall or do we still have him? He was cut shortly after the draft.

Dez would just be a more expensive, higher maintenance version of BMarsh. We don't need another over the hill WR with stone hands that can't can't create separation anymore.

I have been going back and forth on this with myself since Bryant was cut. Originally I not only wanted this but thought it was a done deal with him and OBJ working out together. But the cap limits us tremendously.
Also he would be no better than the 3rd option at best in the passing game behind Beckham and Barkley. But as many have stated a tremendous threat in the red zone. He would have single coverage for the first time in his career. He would definitely be an upgrade from anything we have at the X receiver now. We'll still be throwing the ball 30+ times a game, there is plenty of ball to go around. I do think he would be on his best behavior.
But in Dallas there was plenty of lateness to practices. Missed meetings. displays and outbursts on the sidelines and yelling at Prescott his QB. Plus I don't think he would play for a 4 mil salary for one year.
And I don't think he would have welcomed his opportunity like Brandon Marshall. I still wish we would have given Marshall another chance. Don't know about his health from his injury. He's more talented than anybody that's there now. Guess that should have been put on the "shoulda" thread.

its fair to say Dez should be considered, but we still have some potential glaring holes on this team, that we'll probably have to spend money on to fix instead of just draft (including the QB position if our current stable of candidates goes bust over the next couple years).
i just don't see how even a discounted contract for Dez makes sense. With Barkley, Engram, Sheppard, OBJ, there's already more legit targets on this offense than most others.
Keep your powder dry for a CB, passrusher, RT, or more OL in general since we can't afford an ingrown toenail on our line right now.

I think your right Joe and also its a bad idea to put him with OBJ. My spider senses tell me walk away from this one. Will be fine with a good 3rd receiver. Dez has not been a bad locker room guy but he only shared the spot light with Whitten. (humble guy)

It is not the right personality to bring onto this team at this time... as talented as he is or was it will be a pass on Dez

I think we should sign Dez to a one year contract and just see how it all works out, if it does work out it solves our need for a 3rd WR and defenses won't be able to leave Dez uncovered....
