Rosie is on vacation so he's exempt from rating or even having to watch this one (lucky bastard). Here's what the rest of us thought: Morehead:Offense: D The kid struggled. The O line was god awful. Down to our 3rd string RB. It was just bad out there. Defense: Z There really is no letter out there to describe this defense. Everything was bad everywhere on the field. What do you all think Tom Brady is going to do to us in 4 days? ST's.....C Nice job with the punt deep. Other than that? Whatever. Coaching: F This team is simply poorly coached on both offense and defense. Game Ball: All of us for watching this mess There comes a time when we have to wonder if this FO and coaching staff really knows what they are doing. We have injuries but NO depth. We have one vet corner. We started the season with 2 RB's. No veteran depth anywhere on the field. It's either starters or guys who have never played pro football. ......and this staff isn't getting anything from these guys. This FO looks like they hit on Jones but where else can we look with optimism besides Saquan? I'm disgusted right now. They took over a 3-13 team and have done very little to make it better. Gametime: Squandered opportunities, bad oline, no run game, defense absolutely lost, etc Offense: D+. I gave the plus because they have no run game due to injury and DJ is still new an learning. The oline was awful no ifs ands or buts. The missed on a few big plays but goods to them going for it. Some adjustment to find under neath stuff. The kid is still learning and took his lumps today. He stood tall and didnt flinch which is a good sign. He needs to dump the ball on that 1st and goal instead of losing 10 yards. Defense: P.....for pathetic. I get the injuries but LB group was lost all day. The DBs were ok but not ready for prime time yet. The missed tackles to by several players is unacceptable!! I dont care of you are a 3 string LB one of the basics of football is tackling. Make a freaking play!!! If you dont know how to to tackle then go sell cars somewhere and get out of the NFL now. STs: B....solid as usual. Nice run back for Ballentine and nice deep punt. Coaching: C on the offense and D for the defense. The play calling may have been suspect here and there but the player execution was more suspect IMO. Game ball: I was at the game and the National Anthem sung by Krysta Rodriguez was one of the best performances I have ever heard. She did it in classic style, no changes and just tore it up!! Was an emotional performance for me. She deserves the game ball hands down!! Sarcasman:I really could just take nearly any game review from last year and repost it here, I've watched this game more than a dozen times over the past two seasons. On the plus side Jones is getting tons of real game experience and that will serve him and the team well in the future. Giants Offense: C- Giants Defense: C Special Teams: C Coaching: D Game Ball: Please.

You know how the game went when the game balls go to the fans, a singer, and please.. My game ball goes to the commercials. I found myself drinking heavily and I went and bought a Dodge Ram truck.

Nicely done fellas. This will get old quick though much like last year. When was the last time we made straight As?
Offense- D, Jones struggled with the terrible OL play Defense- D, LBs awful, DBs zoning out, lack of pass rush. STs - C, although Rosas is now barely squeaking them in now. Coaching- D, no we didnt lose by 2 points Shurmur... terrible job. Also challenging the play after the play he should have challenged.
Game ball- I'll give my game ball to Slayton. Solid game by him and a hell of a catch on the TD.

The tackling was horrible (again). And once again we saw wide open wrs surrounded by multiple defenders covering no one. Our DBs play twilight-zone coverage.
I thought DJ did well all things considered. He was under big pressure all day, and he's a rookie. Stood tall and made some plays.
Our injury situation hurt us. But we are making the same mistakes over and over, particularly on D.

Good stuff as always and well deserved, not saying the defense is gonna be top 10 but we have to remember they had to call the great Nate Stupar off the couch they were so thin at ILB, that said they sucked made average Joe Cousins look like Joe Montana, getting tired of this it has been 6-7 years now of watching guys that struggle play the Giants and get healthy and their mind right.

Keep in mind that the MLB is the QB of the defense and we didn’t have one.
Tackling was horrible as someone else already said.
One bright spot was Peppers who played most of the game with his hair on fire.
WR drops were significant but coverage was somewhat of a factor.
Shep has stepped up and overall is playing lights out so far this year
While DJ made some expected rookie mistakes, he also threw some great balls into tight coverage that should have been caught.
DJ stood tall against a fierce pass rush...good job rook!
Oline sucked against one of the top Dlines and LBs in the league.
This is about what I expected in this rebuilding year. The Vikings should win this game. Having said that, no excuses for poor tackling and drops.

basically they had one chance to take the momentum and win this game (as it's a momentum based game) and they choked it a way on the safety. It was all downhill from there. Originally id given HC a pass given Jones' fumbling history, but i was talked out of that on this board. he telegraphed a play with a shaky oline and 3rd string RB, terrible play call. it's like every time he tries to make me have some faith, shurmur blows it

Good stuff.
If you have to have a gamball category, then why not give it to Peppers? That kid played his heart out and is showing real leadership out there. If there's one positive to take from the game, its #21.

However the singer for the National Anthem brought a tear to my eye so she gets the game ball from me....

I’d give the game ball to Golden. Sack and drew a holding call. He’s been good. He’s been the lone bright spot in 2 FA classes, problem is they gave him a 1 year deal. So he’s going to be looking for big money.

I'm going to do this differently I'll just highlight the players that stood out on a positive note as we all have beaten the negative horse to death and into dog food
Slayton To me he has shown enough to be in the picture as a starter opposite Shepherd. The way he beat Rhodes on the TE pass, and he best him a number of times. He won't be facing many corners better than him,so there is no reason not to vastly increase his role, which if he continues to play like this teams have to start taking notice and it helps the offense
Jones Not so much for his results and stats, was not pretty. The learning experience, and still standing in there. He had to have had flashbacks when Duke played Clemson last year,it looked very similar. It will get better.
Lawrence Anyone complaining about the pick now? Exactly as advertised, the front 3 in general, might be the strongest position group on the team. And it will get better Priority one next offseason is Lock up Tomlinson long term and keep this group together.
X man...usually pass rushers take 2 to 3 years to develop, especially the non blue chip ones.He is ahead of this curve to the point that pass rusher might not be such a dire need next draft...especially
Golden..if we resign this guy... he is on pace for a 10 plus sack year
Peppers Playing his best football in this system A much more athletic version of Collins..
Special teams in general Probably the best special teams unit in the league and since last year When this team is relevant again if we keep the core group together this unit will win one to 2 games for us..

My take is we got beat by a far better team, get used to it as it will happen many times this year! Thursday night against NE away? Can we use the mercy rule like in cricket? Best thing about this year is we are watching our new QB get experience and not watching Eli age like badly kept wine. We need Jones to show why he was our 6th pick and not get destroyed behind that OL from hell. Never, never take a player from NE because they are usually past their prime and on their way out! If NE doesn't want them anymore, there's a problem. The defense is just plan garbage that's been sitting in the house to long and stinks to high heaven from rotten fish! As far as missing Barkley, our OL can make a Hall Of Fame RB look like pure shit! We still have to play the Eagles twice and the Cowboys once. We are like raw meat to a caged Lion when it comes to those games. But I still think we are on the right track in the long run!

Offensive Line: stunk
Coverage: stunk
Defending intermediate crossers off of PA: stunk
Pass rush: getting there
Danny Jones: got balls
Ronnie Hillman/Elijah Penny: Not ideal
Betting over 43.5 points: NOT cash money

Nice grades, but I feel like Daniel Jones owes those receivers an apology for hitting them multiple times between the numbers. How dare he give them catch-able passes for them to drop.

Yeah, the game sucked. And yes I expected more. Yet, I will not at this point start pointing fingers at the FO, coaches or GM. We have no depth, no kidding. We have had no cap money to be able to bring in quality depth or veteran starters. Yet some of the guys brought in are doing alright. I think the a Viking defense just emphasizes how important it is to draft well, and keep and develop your guys. I think someone said that most of their front seven have been together for five years. I think Jones, Barkley, Hernandez, Zeitler, Halapio, Shepard, Slayton, and Engram will be core guys in the future of our offense. The D-line, plus Peppers, And Baker, with the possibility of Beal, and or Ballentine are all we have on defense. There is more work to be done on this roster. I’d like to see us get a power running back to spell Barkley and for certain situations. The kind that drives linebackers backwards sort of like our linebackers get driven backwards after contact.

I'll give the game an "F" the future is the only thing to look forward to now is DJ getting valuable game experience this season
Look to the 1st and 2nd year players to continue to develop at their respective positions as well
It is so tough when we find a kid like Connelly who steps up and gets hurt for the entire season, Slayton looks to be a find as a 5th rounder
Add critical positions next two drafts: OT, DL, LB & WR
If there is anyone out there at LB or RB worth bring in to practice, certainly they have nothing to lose
