NEWS Giants’ Saquon Barkley finally confesses health a factor in rough season: After weeks of downplaying his health as part of the reason his production is down this season, New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley pretty much admitted on Thursday that has been the case. I was banged up earlier in the year so I’m getting better and better each week. It’s not so much it’s the injury that, I guess you could say, is holding me back. Even though physically you feel like you’re back, mentally you might be telling yourself that you’re back, but you watch yourself on film and you can see the way that you’re running and you’re protecting yourself. You don’t really think you’re doing it, but naturally it’s just happening. But I think I’m getting better and better each week. www.bigblueview.com/2019/12/12/21019520/giants-saquon-barkley-finally-confesses-health-a-factor-in-rough-season

He looked elusive against Philly . I think he was motivated VS (Ex teammate) Miles Sanders .

He looked elusive against Philly . I think he was motivated VS (Ex teammate) Miles Sanders . He's definitely looked better and flashed what he looked like in 2018. He will be fine next year. This o-line though better have a new coach. Draft a LT, sign a RT like Conklin, and sign a C like Connor McGovern.

There was a time he looked like Andre Williams. And as we all know that’s bad.. The Eagles game was the first time since the injury he looked like his old self. For our offense to be competitive Barkley has to play like he is capable of and God forbid maybe stop running him at the teeth of the defense every other play.

He ran with abandon against the Eagles. The old Saquon.
All the best to him in the future.

We're going to ride those thunder thighs and jump cut to a superbowl next year...if Daniel Jones stops putting the football on the grass, we get an offensive line, another WR and some linebackers, pass rush, and some safety help...with a new coach ...
...but it all starts with the running back

He's not going to get what he wants: "The current Baylor coach might have some tricky demands, though, as it’s also being reported that he would want almost full authority when it comes to roster management. "

" I don't know if this is true though - he came close to a deal with the Jets last year, which apparently fell apart when the Jets insisted on hiring his staff. IMO that was a smart move by Rhule and a term that he would be wise to reject for any NFL job.
There was no reporting that he demanded personnel control with the Jets.

It does! Imagine if the Cowboys hire Riley and we hire Rhule? Two great Big 12 coaches going at it twice a year in the NFL!

Well now the concern can stop as most new you don't lose natural ability he has been slowed by injury and probably still isn't 100%. been through this where you feel your back but the injury won't let you get over the top.

I hated how they ran him right off his injury, shumur sent him smashing straight into the line play after play. no one really talks about it, but a couple games in a row, like the game after he came back, he took a number of bone jarring hits, he was getting gang tackled with no help, no blockers, I cringed every time.
I hate that this kid would admit to something like this, and its obvious to we fans he hasnt been right, but again where is our staff, our team leaders to help him with this, you cant play nfl football worried about hits or not trusting yourself.
the handling of barkley this year is one of the top things that has me through with shurmur. I think its sorta quietly been worse than what many realize.

I, for one, will disregard Shurmur's atrocious record and will accept the opinion of this "expert" because opinions matter and records be damned!

Please pay better attention next time!!

I have to watch some Baylor games and see what the fuss is about. I also need to make sure they play good teams because I do not want another inexperienced 2 year coach.
Too many veteran coaches with proven records to go out and risk it all on a college coach. Arizona is still trash...

He looked elusive against Philly . I think he was motivated VS (Ex teammate) Miles Sanders . He was more elusive but he also danced way to much. He was dancing so much it appeared that he was allergic to contact.

Im not sure what he is saying exactly. He doesn't seem hurt , he has not been limited in prac in a long time. he is spinning and making sharp moves and even jumping. I'm thinking its part mental.

He came back too soon, played on an injured ankle and it’s finally getting better but he doesn’t trust it fully yet. That’s it.

I think he is protecting his OL and covering up the fact we have a rookie QB. Get at least a RT + C and have a 2nd year Jones and things will look much better for him.
