Currently at $75m or so, w the predicted cap of $199m. Could save. 8.2 on Ogletree. 5.0 on Ellison. 4.8 on Martin. 2.7 on Bethea. Those cuts put us at 95-97m to spend to get to cap at $201m with a $2m rollover. Were in great cap shape. Now look at the Cowboys....
$100k under a $221m cap, including their $22m rollover!!! No money to pay Dak, Amari or Byron Jones. Awful cap shape..... We will be back atop the NFCE in no time, have patience..... Curious, where did you get this info? I use either overthecap or sportrac and the latter shows the Cowboys as $88M in cap space for 2020 (projected as of now) www.spotrac.com/nfl/cap/2020/

I get 88 too.
Now siikubtract the 11% max rollover (non negotiable for me. We aren’t Sb contenders) 10-12 million for the draft class and emergency signings Williams, Golden, RT
Left with about 10 million for secondary depth.
This isn’t the cap room bonanza people are making it out to be.
I’ll add that I’m ok with this. Add in Chase Young/WR in 1-2 LT project/MLB/C in 3-4-5
And we might fight for a playoff spot with Rivera at the reigns. Maybe Carmichael (Saints) as OC?

Yup. If you account for DAK & COOPER, and their draft picks, Dallas CAP space allows them for what? 1 middling FA and some depth players? Dallas is locked into the players that they have for a few years...

Giants will have a lot of money to spend, just not sure I trust Gettleman with all that money to spend. His Free Agency Signs and Trades have not worked out at all

Cap room has never won a championship. It can fill some holes but more often than not, it over pays for under performance in an attempt to make up for poor drafts. It doesn't get me excited.

***Cap room has never won a championship*** It can fill some holes but more often than not, it over pays for under performance in an attempt to make up for poor drafts. It doesn't get me excited. I believe in building the foundation through the draft, and I don't like the idea of recklessly overpaying for 1st wave free agents, but having cap space to leverage with a team as young as ours is a good thing. Each season, I make a list of free agents I'd like us to target. What I've noticed is each season there's a plethora of talent to be had in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th+ waves of free agency. These are the players we should focus on. Focus on the young players who have shown promise but "can't play" because they had a down year after a significant injury....focus on players going into their 3rd or 4th contract who "can't play" because they're too old.....focus on players who don't live up to their draft pick due to a misfit in scheme....focus on productive players who are overshadowed by superstar teammates. Take some risks on players who fit the criteria above, sign them to multi-year, incentive based contracts, and hope a few of them pan out. From there, trade back in the draft when possible, and constantly replenish the foundation. ***There's no single reason why football teams have success, but I'm willing to bet we don't win the 1st Super Bowl against the Pats without the FA we acquired over the course of 2006 and 2007. Players like Mitchell, McQuarters, Madison, etc., who all fit the mold of those mentioned above, were vital to our success.***

I hope they pay in house. Leonard Williams is a scary one, if that guy wants top $ then he's not worth it. But if he signs top 15 I'd spend it. Worries me that they haven't locked him up long term yet.
I'd also like to see them give Tomlinson a 2nd contract.
I want to keep seeing the team build through the draft, but that means we need to pay in house too, and stop buying over priced veterans that are only good for a few games a year.

I agree about paying our current players. Way too often people look to spend cap room on other teams players, why not sign our own? I would sign Williams for a fair price, I get him saying he wants top dollar because he has to start high and come down to a fair price. Also sign Tomlinson who I think is a stud and sign Markus Golden. We can't keep losing our #1 pass rusher and expect to get better at rushing the passer.
