Fame and success can be difficult for some to handle. I watched the beginning of "A Football Life" with "TO" last nite. I found it so interesting I hit the record button. He came into the league acting like a choirboy, just hoping for an opportunity. Soon after his crazy talent opened the flood gates for lots of suppressed unresolved emotional issues. Can you imagine living across the street for YEARS from your father and not knowing it? His Uncle had to tell him not to flirt with the cute little girl across the street because it was his SISTER! None of us truly knows what is behind Odell's antics, but he sure is different than the young kid who started balling when NYG selected him in the 1st round.

"The catch" was the worst thing that could have happened to him as far as being an important and talented piece of a "team". After that, it became all about him.

Wait, what? lol....I had a similar incident when I was a kid. My dad had 9 siblings. When I was about 10 or 11, I stared "dating" (whatever that means when you're 10) the girl who lived across the street from me. It wasn't until her mother saw me and my dad throwing a football around thst she recognized him. It was his former sister in law and the girl was my cousin. Since this was Kentucky, I probably could have continued dating her.

I guess the silver lining there is that there is no blood-relation to said cousin. But yeah... awkward

Most NFL fans, but ALL "Doctors" would find it a fascinating study of the human mind. We are all "chipped", just some more than others. I as a Giants fan had disdain for TO, but as his career waned on grew to understand him more. I will watch the rest of it tonite because I thought I heard somewhere he played in the SB with a broken ankle. I would like to see if that's discussed in the show.

Some of these players have such ****ed up backgrounds Odell seems to have come from a very religious background,I remember his 1st 2 years at least 3 bible quotes a day on my timeline on FB.. There is something there and it's not fame getting ti his head

I think I saw somewhere that he was raised primarily by his sprinter mom.
