The Browns are ruining another QB. There was no question he had some personality issues, but he has the skills to be a great QB. It just has been Browned as usual in Cleveland.
And honestly, thats just one fan. Lets be real. We have Giants fans that have done that to Eli in our stadium after a rough game Im sure.

I thought it could be volatile, but honestly not this much or as soon.. Mayfield, Beckham, and Landry cannot be allowed to run the asylum. They need a hard ass coach who is supported by the GM and ownership to have any hope of a reset.

I agree, I've watched some Browns this year and while he is struggling, you can see he's got very good potential. He is getting no help from the coaching staff or FO. Gotta hope the situation changes for his sake.

They want NBA like coaches they can walk all over, not NFL coaches who are hard and mean. Look what happened in Jacksonville to Coughlin.

I think Mayfield is what he is.
Observation:
He holds the ball too long. An inherent physical constant . Only 6-1. With his height issue and holding on to the ball. It allows the pass rush to develop. It does not need to develop much . Just enough to make him have throw over the taller interior D-linemen. That cause an accuracy problem with his throws.
Opinion: He lacks the emotional fortitude to be a good NFL QB . I think he gets rattled when things are not going his way. He will never win a trophy because his ego is bigger than his intellect.

Any time I hear about emotional fortitude, easily rattled - I wonder why a guy would expose himself commercially, so early in their career. It puts undue pressure, same with what Beckham has done to himself. There's plenty of money and interest in you, after team accomplishments are made, for these type key players.

HCs like Jimmy Johnson & Parcells woulda had these prima donnas in check ...or they wouldn't be on their teams very long. BB woulda unloaded them for picks as well. In NE it's his way or the highway. Today's generation of players is all about #1, themselves. They get a ring during their career, yay, as long as they make bank is all they really care about. You really think Ewok is crying about his team's 8 losses on Monday morning when he sees his check? His mission is accomplished, a ring would just be icing on his cake.

There is some truth in what you say. As others have said, the players for the most part have changed. There ARE however, young men coming into the league that really want to win. It is up to NYG to identify those guys because I agree with you--far too many players take their foot off the pedal after they "make bank." Playing the game to win hurts.....a lot.

It is up to NYG to identify those guys because I agree with you--far too many players take their foot off the pedal after they "make bank." Playing the game to win hurts.....a lot. Sadly, it's all about the $$$ to the vast majority of players, winning a SB is secondary to them. That's why you have greedy players wanting to restructure their contract midway thru it just cuz they had successful rookie/Sophomore yrs. Ewok is the perfect example, 2 yrs left on his rookie deal & was already holding out for a new contract, ownership caves & pays him & what does he give em, an 8-8 season & hardly any great games this yr. Looks to not be playing with the same intensity as in his 1st 3yrs now that he's made bank. NE will be the last dynasty team for a while. Most great teams will now have a 3-4 yr window of success before the greed of $$ breaks them up. FA was the worst thing to happen IMO. Back in the 70s, you had Oak/Pitt/Mia/Minn/Dallas/Rams as yr in yr out powerhouse playoff contenders cuz their team core stayed exact on a yearly basis, those players wanted to win titles! Buffalo in the late 80s/early 90s was the same, they kept the same core of key players & went to 4 straight SBs, something that has never been done prior or since, though NE is attempting to tie em this yr for most consecutive SB app with 4. Had FA existed in the 70s, we never woulda seen the great Oak vs Pitt, Dallas vs Vikes or Rams playoff battles of that decade. FA might have favored 1 or 2 of those teams but more than likely rips the others apart. 72' Dolphins had the perfect team chemistry to go 17-0 that yr, had FA taken away a few of those key players on O & D that yr, 17-0 doesn't happen. Look at the LA Rams, Already it looks like their SB window has shut, will be lucky to finish 8-8 this yr after mortgaging away their future these past 5yrs giving up #1 picks to try & win it all. SF/Seattle will be the 2 big boys on the block these next few yrs imo, LA will be chasing them. Dallas gave up their #1 for Cooper, what did that yield them this season? NY's window will begin to creep open probably next season & then they will have 21',22,'23 to win a 5th SB before FA begins to cripple them as well. Hopefully, they can become good enough to at least win back to back SBs before that.
