Has anyone watched the new episode where skip and Shannon debate the giants new HC pick. It quickly turns into a racial mess. And skip starts it, we’re all human people. Doesn’t matter what color we are, it’s so tiring how the media constantly makes issues out of race. I’m just boiling over it. Just watch the episode on YouTube and you will see.

Well if it wasnt a part of american history for a long time. maybe it wouldnt be an issue today, when you see more qualified minority oc's and dc's and former hc's passed up it does make one wonder. Of course there is no proof of that i agree.

I just don’t understand out of nowhere, there was an agenda there. Skip was totally gas lighting Shannon. This was definitely something that ESPN was pushing.

They run on every PC story. NFL live is saying the same things. Ryan Clark. I posted about this in the coach thread though.

Ok. Sorry. I stopped reading that one after we made our pick. I’m definitely intrigued by this. This is a forward thinking choice. Deep down I kinda like it.

The Giants brought in for interviews 2 minorities in Bienemy and Richard and probably would have a 3rd if Rivera didn't jump of the board so fast. This narrative of the not a fair shake for minority hires is getting stale. The Cowboys only brought in Lewis and hired McCarthy, where is the outrage about them? Carolina hired Ruhle, where's the outrage about them? Only the Giants being ridiculed but some media people have an agenda and use the platform when the can.
I agree that the Rooney rule has not done what it was intended to do but forcing people to interview someone just because of their skin color is a backward way of doing things from the get go and is just fuel to further the racial argument. If we can ever just start judging candidates based on their experience and qualifications, I think the results would be better than anticipated, regardless of race or gender (for that matter).
I can care less about a person's skin color. If they are the best candidate, they should get the job, period! For that matter, women are becoming more relevant in upper management, scouting, and coaching (SF). Is it where many would like it to be, no, but you can't cry racism, every time a minority candidate doesn't get a job.
I was a huge proponent for Louis Riddick before they hired Gettleman and still think the Giants made a mistake but I seriously doubt he didn't get hired because of his skin color, he didn't get the job because Mara is a moron!

you just nailed it , promoting race topics for the sake of increasing your ratings is an old trick, you would think smart networks with some amount of class would pass on this crap...

And on cue, Stephen A accused the Giants of being racist for not hiring Bienemy. Said the way Judge was hired would never happen to black people. Called the Rhooney rule a joke

Called the Rhooney rule a joke That's absolutely absurd. How many wealthy black men are involved in sports? And they're wealthier than coaches. Black people are absolutely worshipped in our country to the point that white kids try to be black. This isn't 1843, 1943 or even 1963. Race relations are as good as they will ever get and the reality is the more they keep injecting race conflict where there isn't any is literally creating racial tension and dividing our country; which is actually the agenda by the wealthy powers that be such as George Soros. Stephen and Sharpe are just a bunch of wealthy puppets talking out of their asses. Even police brutality, while a legitimate issue, is not a race issue, it effects all races, it has everything to do with gov't policy militarizing police and the war on drugs giving them the initial excuse to train the police to treat the people they're supposed to serve as vermin.

Plus the Giants literally just followed the latest trend...they hired a young unknown coach AND to boot they picked a guy from the most successful franchise of the last two decades.

Are you insinuating that only the 'left' push political agendas

Called the Rhooney rule a joke The Rooney rule is a joke. It forces teams to do obligatory interviews with candidates that they have zero interest in hiring. It’s an embarrassing waste of time for everyone involved

You have half the country willing to stop watching the nfl if a black man kneels for police brutality. while i agree with some of what you are saying but its not there yet . only 3 African Americans as HC's in the NFL.

There were multiple well thought of minority coaches who they interviewed, would have probably been 3 had Ron Rivera not taken the skins job before we even fired Shurms.

I want, no demand, a Jewish HC! isnt gettleman jewish? I believe he is....but Messianic Judaism is a modern syncretic religious movement that combines Christianity—most importantly, the belief that Jesus is the Jewish messiah—with elements of Judaism and Jewish tradition. It emerged in the 1960s and 1970s.
