Just read this scenario. Seems interesting.
1. Lions fall in love with Brown at 3, Dolphins panic+trade No. 5 + late Rd. 1 from #Texans for Tua. Raiders love Herbert, trade No. 12, No. 19 (via CHI) for 5. Isaiah Simmons falls to 12 to #NYG
That’s 3 first round picks

I suppose anything is possible.
I can’t shake the feeling that Herbert is not at all what Gruden is looking for.
I think it’s more probable that we could be the beneficiary of a bidding war for Tua if he performs well at combine/pro day. But then, so could the Lions.
I think it’s most likely our GM that has never traded back in the first round, stands pat and picks His guy. And, if going by history, it’ll be a playmaker; Jeudy, Lamb, Simmons.
Not what I think “should” happen. But, what I think “will” happen.

And as much as I preach that we need a dynamic reciever...I'm not going to like it if we do this at the cost of leaving Thomas on the board... The you will see 90% of the fan base turn on Gettleman that hasn't yet,and I just might be supplying the fuel for the torches

Panthers will play a major factor I think.
Gettleman has history there, and Rhule will want HIS guy. I can see them moving a boat load to start this thing on the right foot if they feel Cam is done.
This will definitely worry the Dolphins. They threw the season for this very reason. We can get a real good return from this. I think Lions take Okudah or Jeudy.
Draft Thomas please. And then BPA the rest of the draft with an eye on receiver, Center, pass rusher and inside guys. Maybe safety/slot guy as well.
We can turn this thing around real quick, this is all ifs and buts though.

I’m not sure there’s any reason to believe DG would help the organization that fired him, with a new owner, and a coach that may have rubbed a lot of our FO the wrong way.
Depends on the offer though, I suppose.
I agree with GL. His MO means he’s going WR, even though we think he can get a dandy on day 2.
People don’t change much. He believes completely in his ability to get starting OL mid rounds. So it will be.

I would trade one spot down with the dolphins if they want Tua. That guy Thomas I think is going to be a beast.

Need to leak rumors that they are looking to trade down. Spread some fake news that that the panthers or someone is looking to trade up for a QB. I wouldn't get too cute but if they spread enough smoke they may get the Dolphins to bite.

He has only proven not only is a freak talent, but he is also an injury waiting to happen . Do you think their GM is going to give up 2 ones to the Giants to move up one spot for a ? If you were the Dave would you want anything less?

I am mainly curries if Gettleman would try to leverage his position at all with some smoke screens or if he would want to take his guy with conviction. He has received a lot of criticism for not trading down in the past few drafts. i would personally take Thomas maybe even over Chase Young. I am that sick of watching this offense get stomped in the backfield every single play.

If you are the GM of the Dolphins , how do sell we want to move up for a hip injured QB? That's a different story. If they love Tua though, they might be forced to move up 1 spot for him. I was just explaining an example of why they might need to.

The Bears gave up a 2017 2 and 3 and a 2018 2and to move up 1 spot for Trubisky... granted that was from 3 to 2 but they also were bidding against themselves Dolphins could be in direct competition with both Carolina and the Chargers for the Giants pick.. Gettleman furthers the smokescreen by overdoing the love for players that could be there between 8-12 (Jeudy,Lamb,Delpit,Simmons)even if he legit likes a few of these guys..

I can't see anyone moving up for Tua.. His injury brings an inherent risk on his longevity or even If he can take the pounding the NFL will dish out. |He is a freak of nature but his off the field as much as he is on it.

There will be a damn good WR there for our 2nd round pick.......Gimme Thomas/Okudah at 4, and Higgins at 36........that gives us either a LT or shutdown corner with our 1st, and a #1 WR with our 2nd....and while I love Lamb, taking him at 4, leaves us with less options with our 2nd rounder when we desperately need OLine and CB help.

If say we make a phone call to Miami and it leaks out that the Chargers are trying to jump them for Tua ? We give them an offer we would accept ? Just sayin.... Remember we moved up just one spot to get Shockey cause we thought we might be jumped. Different group of people but it's a possible scenario.

Oh you may very well be right, I was just trying to give a scenario. At this time I'm hoping for Thomas and if he's gone try and trade back for more high draft picks.
We'll see, possible QB teams Chargers, possibly Panthers depending on what's going on with Newton., and possibly Miami if they get nervous..

I think our best shot is with Jacksonville. They need a QB.
