I'll reserve judgement until after he starts putting in work. Talk is cheap. The questions were asked and even I knew what the proper answer was. Or rather, answers. So why didn't you apply for the job? I would have voted for you! If the job just entailed answering the press with very generic and politically correct answers and feeding people with garbage that they'll gladly lap up, I'm a pro at that.

Those same talents would also land you a great job in the media.

Or rather, answers. but yet if he had a a bad presser you'd be ripping him I am sure. Talk is not cheap in this case because in a presser what else what do you do?......you talk and answer questions. Its not just what he said its the attitude in which he said it. of course he needs to back it up with results but at this point in time all we have is what he says and who gets hired.

Yes, it really is all we have at this point. Didn't listen to much of it, this one stuck out as a bit much, though: "It's our responsibility to take care of them daily and make sure that when they are done with our game, they are better furthered for the rest of their career as a father, a husband, and a professional in whatever avenue they take."

why is it a bit "much". He views coaching the same as teaching. Teachers should leave you better than when they met you. I dig that because the it shows the guys really cares about the whole aspect of what he is doing. BTW.....listen to the whole interview. It really wont take much of your time.

Especially being a fairly young guy, I feel he should leave the aspects of his players' home lives alone - especially as he doesn't even know them yet. We already know many of them do not handle being husbands, boyfriends, fathers, etc... properly. No coach is going to dictate or change that.

While he mentions specific things he basically just would like the players he coaches to be "better" people for having be under him as a coach. Thats all he is saying. He isnt "dictating" anything. Its actually an indictment on himself and not the players. Its one his responsibilities he holds himself and his program to.

I suppose the presser is mainly for us the fans. What he says in the locker room will assumably be quite different.

The presser in his case was not just for the fans. Its how this guy really is. He isn't BSing anyone IMO The point is........its not just what he is saying its what he will do as a coach or teacher as describes it.

You do understand you just gave everyone an excuse to blow off your posts? Difference is this is a forum of normal people not the media. I have nothing but disdain for them.
