I think OC is a little lofty for just leaving the game as a player. I'd be all for QB coach though.

I always wished eli (when the giants had an OL) let eli really take control of the offense. I would love to see him direct himself. I know he had a bit of freedom but not total control. That said. He needs to leave the building for a bit, come back in a few, if he wants. he said he didnt like being a backup or coaching up players. Y fans try to force it is beyond me.

That's all well and good until no offers to be a starting QB come in. That kind of wake up call can change your outlook. Eli doesn't have to do ANYTHING now.....but if he wants to still be a part of this organization or football in general, he may have to rethink that.

You probably could have labeled Eli as a QB coach for 2019. He probably did more than Shurmur and Shula's stupid asses.

He'll retire one of the richest players in football history, I'll bet he's not coaching or doing anything but growing old and fat.

Man the media is restless, they desperately need something to talk about. Manning won't be coming back as a player for the fact same reason Brady will remain in NE. No one wants a 40 year old starting QB

In our defense, the hissy fit you would throw would be epic, and the entertainment value in that alone would make this move worthwhile.

Some are so desperate to have him still part of the team .they would have him in a position he isnt even qualified for. Its quite sad actually

Its quite sad actually That reminds me, there was this guy here...name of Harooni. Before your time so you wouldn't know him. Total idiot. Believed the moon landing was fake and was on the fence about the earth being a globe. Just that stupid Anyway, this jack off actually wanted to get rid of Eli for get this...Brady. Not Tom Brady...Brady Quinn. He also wanted Tebow. So there were just as many people around that flat out wanted to get rid of Eli no matter what than there are people that want to keep him around no matter what.

I would love for eli to retire as a player and stick around this team anyway possible. I dont think he would be ready for OC, but maybe offensive assistant or qb coach.

I'm the biggest Eli homer there is, but the man needs to retire and steer clear from that building until they retire #10.

Lol eli gave the team off on a monday with out shurmurs permission. Well hopefully a better work ethic will be instilled now, Shurmur was too soft.

Thank You Eli but It is over! Lets hope it is the start of Daniel Jones ERA and he continues to get better and we're not looking for another QB in another year or so

Lol eli gave the team off on a monday with out shurmurs permission. Well hopefully a better work ethic will be instilled now, Shurmur was too soft. There were legit claims that he didn't manage the clock well... did not make half time adjustments well... chose poor plays in certain situations... But, how do you know he was too soft? Give an example of some times he came across as too easy when he needed to be hard ass. The one thing that we saw this season was that they played hard for him, to the end. They might not have understood their responsibilities/assignment on plays, or were just plain average, but they played hard. No one accused him of being too soft... just simply not HC material, yet.
