Josh McDaniels drafted Tim Tebow. If Tebow was with the Saints we would all love him. He is a better Taysom Hill. Too bad for him his coaches couldn't figure out how to make him work. Yet another example of a young QB that maybe would have been something with different coaches. I'm not a fan of JM for my HC, but I actually agree with this about Tebow. SO much about QBs making it is dependent on where they land, who is coaching, the surrounding cast, and the timing of it all. In the same way the offense was modified for Jackson, it could have been for Tebow. For crying out loud, without doing that Tebow put his team on his back, made it to the playoffs, and even won a playoff game. Is he a pure passer? Absolutely not, but he's a winner and that's why he got so many shots. We can all think of QBs that should have "made it", had they been in a different situation.

If Tebow was a better Taysom Hill, another team would have picked him up and utilized those talents. The Patriots couldn't even do anything with him. Coming out of college Tebow was literally better than Hill at every aspect of football. Hill ended up in a much better place in the NFL. Anyone here think Hill could start 11 games, make the playoffs and win a playoff game? I don't think so, in fact the Saints don't think so either which is why he isn't even the back up and didn't start any games when Brees went down and in 3 seasons has attempted 13 passes.

I always point to Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers. How different would Smiths career be if they switched spots? We will never know, but my guess it he would have a much better career with that coaching stability than he ended up with.

So no one is ever going to know any of this unless for some reason Bill decides to disclose his thoughts one day. We have a new coach, looking forward to the final announcements on staff, especially OC and OLINE and then off to the draft.

Even guys like David Carr and Brady Quinn could have had better careers if they landed in better spots at their times.
