Shumur was like Fassel. Good man, smart offensive guy, crappy head coach. Wish him the best in Denver. Disagree. Fassel was a good head coach who hired an impressive coaching tree and was generally well-liked by players, media, etc. Took the team to 3 postseason trips in 7 seasons making do with guys like Danny Kannell and Dave Brown, I mean come on. Then he remade Kerry Collins and took them to a SB. Yes, teams under Fassel were maddeningly inconsistent and occasionally ill-prepared. He lost the locker room in '03 and then got the axe, but to never get another shot at HC in the NFL? I think the media had a lot to do with that. It was justified that they let him go, but I don't think it's fair to call him a crappy coach or compare him to Shurmur. Shurmur couldn't sniff the playoffs, let alone turn in a winning season. I though I read it was his drinking that ended his career.

Im glad for shurmur; I was frustrated as hell with him this year on many fronts but hes obviously a good guy. many great coordinators just dont have the stones to be a head coach, im sure he'll be fine.

Shurmur will have Drew Lock playing as good as, if not better than Jones

thank god we not on the bronc's schedule next year or that would have been humiliating for us to have Shurm's O rip our D a new bunghole lol he prob would too. Mara would throw a chair through the owners box.

Hope he does well there and I think he will. Shurmur's a coordinator and I think he'll continue to be a good one as he has done his whole career. Should help Lock a lot. I'll keep rooting for him. Quite happy he's not the NYG head coach anymore.

Shurmur will have Drew Lock playing as good as, if not better than Jones and why is that? Go to the draft section and read my Drew Lock thread. I watched a crap load of his tape when we were looking for QB's. He is 3-1 as an NFL starter, and the Bronco's rallied behind him. He's excitable, and I think his temperament scared off the Giants. Kid is kinda goofy in a youthful sort of way. I like DJ but This is who I REALLY wanted. Look at the effortless release under duress. He can flick his wrist and send it 60 yards.

Just to compare rookies he isn't as polished as Jones in technique, reads, etc. He may have more umph in his arm but after this season I see no issues with Jones' arm either. Both are very good NFL arms.
