www.giants.com/news/dexter-lawrence-all-rookie-team-pro-football-writers-america-nfl-pfwaNo Giants defensive lineman played more snaps than Dexter Lawrence in 2019. It is what he did with that time, though, that caught people’s attention. Lawrence, the second of three picks in the first round by general manager Dave Gettleman last April, was named to the 2019 Professional Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team on Tuesday. After an All-American career at Clemson, for whom he helped win two national championships, Lawrence started all 16 games as a rookie and recorded 38 tackles, 2.5 sacks, nine quarterback hits and a forced fumble.

Remember when people hated that pick? I don't remember that. Maybe that hate was flooded out by all the Jones hate.
The crazy thing is the first quarter of the season he didn't play that many snaps. Man once he got going though you can see what a force this kid is. Only time will tell if that Odell trade was worth it but we got a stud in DLaw. It's crazy how through different coaches and GMs we keep finding stud DTs over and over for the last 15 years or so. Lawrence is probably the best one yet and Tomlinson ain't far behind at all. Love these two.

Remember when people hated that pick? I don't recall anyone complaining about that pick. They were too upset about picking DJ to even notice. The pick was always highly regarded and sports commentators liked the pick and we know that people here tend to agree with whatever the talking heads say.

I did not like the pick, thought he was limited as a pass rusher in a time where its importance is at an all time high. Hope he continues to improve. Hernendez also made this list last year. I still would have preferred an OT at #17, I think once Peters retires Andre Dilliard will become an absolute stud. Interior DL is abundant in talent in the NFL. OT is not (dont tell DG) Despite that, congrats to the young man. He was much better than I expected.

Remember when people hated that pick? I still don't. He's no better than Tomlinson. I think that pick could have been put to better use.
He's solid. But "solid" DT's don't necessarily justify a mid 1st round pick.

It is what happens when you draft for need over BPA.

It is what happens when you draft for need over BPA. I don't want to give the impression that I don't think he's a decent player....it's just way too high for a guy like that. At least in my opinion.
