Is Garrett still in East Rutherford? Can they not agree on contract numbers? Or have the Giants not been convinced Garrett is the right guy? Any other news?

I still feel like they're waiting to interview an assistant or 2 who's currently in the playoffs before making a decision.

Well obviously he must left without a deal. Would of heard something. Ahh. I just saw that Kitchens has an interview on Friday. Thats why no announcement either way on Garrett. So they will meet with Kitchens. They decide between Shula, Garrett or Kitchens Id assume there will be some sort of decision by Saturday
Have to credit Judge for being thorough.
Where did you read that Kitchens was going to be interviewed Friday? Haven't seen that anywhere.
Weird. I originally posted only the 1st paragraph about Garrett must of left the building without a contract or we would of heard something Then i saw something on Kitchens interview on Friday. Dont remember if it was on this site i read it or in media?? So went in an edited my post to say the reason we didnt hear nothing on Garrett was they have interview with Kitchens friday. Now not sure where i saw it Think it was within the article about interviewing Garrett. Cant find it now but im positive it was in one of the pieces about Garrett.. A quick search and this was all i was able to find The Giants also interviewed Mike Shula for the job earlier this week, and Judge was expected to talk with former Cleveland Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens about a spot on his offensive staff. Shula was the Giants' offensive coordinator under Pat Shurmur and helped with the development of rookie quarterback Daniel Jones. Kitchens worked with Judge earlier in their careers at Mississippi State." That doesnt say for OC and dowsnt say Friday??? So im stumped " Should of posted a link which is what is always preached on here to backup a statement. But i thought it was common knowledge

I think if the interview went really well and they decided Garrett was their guy then they would have made the move, like they did with JJ. I don't think it would matter who else they were planning on interviewing for OC.
The longer it goes, the more I think that he didn't convince them.

Wonder if Judge is waiting to interview someone on a team that is still playing?

I'm sure that is a definite possibility, just not sure who it might be. My guess is an assistant as I can't imagine it's someone who is already an OC.

It's probably in Judge's best interest to surround himself with 'yes' men...not former NFL Coaches of the Year. He knows Mara and others with history in the Giants organization like Ernie are in love with Garrett that would make me pause if I'm Judge.
Kitchens is the perfect underling for Judge.

This is all about the offensive system....
Judge is looking for an OC who runs the Erhardt-Perkins system as it is the most flexible system of them all. Kitchens fits this mold.
Garrett is a student of the Coryell system with some exposure to the Erhardt-Perkins system under Saban and Mularkey.
A hunch tells me Judge would rather have Kitchens but the NYG FO has recommended Garrett. The OC from Buff runs the E-P system.

The more time that passes, the less likely it is that he getting hired as our OC.

Please explain this hypothesis. Exactly HOW is this in his best interests? The head coaching position on the Giants has been too volatile to take any risks. If I were an aspiring head coach I would not want any subordinates to have a better resume because I'd fear that ownership may give them head coaching duties when the winning isn't consistent. Judge has a dictator's demeanor...dictators have done this throughout history when seizing power. Eliminate the competition. Like you said, just a hypothesis. Judge may think Kitchens has what it takes but ownership would never want Kitchens to take over..Kitchens would be the clear #2 or #3. I can't comment on Kitchens's coaching skills...I found the "Pittsburgh Started It" shirt pretty alarming though.

I think its possible they are convincing him to take the job and hc is his of judge doesnt work out. Could be off on this. But its my guess. So you think the FO is already talking about Judge failing and making plans for it...and they are willing to express this doubt to an subordinate of Judge? Well if you look at it like that.I see what you mean It sounds bad. But maybe a backup plan for a daisy fresh hc. Idk. Id think its a plus to have one cord with hc experience. Even though i didnt want jason as hc.
