This bozo is going to end up worse than Antonio Brown. Brown never showed the signs of being a nut until the last few years. OBj is headed to off his rockersville at a far faster pace..
Gettleman made the tight call in this case. He ain't worth the headache when rebuilding. Maybe if they were win now you would attempt to tolerate it but clearly we weren't winning with this clown

I agree. His behavior is his own responsibility. He is in charge of himself. But if he doesn't know he's sick, he can't very well know he needs help. It took a total nervous breakdown before my family member finally talked to someone and was diagnosed. That person has been in therapy and on anti-psychotics for 10 years now and it's been a totally different. Even still, you have to push for them to take the meds. They get to feeling good when the mania is elevated and they don't want ruin the "high". But if they don't, it could could go bad. Paranoia, hallucinations....then they get self destructive and then comes the days and days of depression. People that haven't had that in their lives don't get it. I guess that was the point of my last post. I find it hard to believe someone in his circle hasn't brought up the possibility. Who knows? So many other things can cause dramatic mood swings when you're still developing physically and mentally. Maybe they don't know anything about the disease and just figured he'd eventually grow out of it. Even some here were saying he's just immature and will grow out of it. It's on him now. People will just eventually get sick of it and move on.

Imagine having an arrest warrant issued against you for smacking a cop on the butt. Odell just keeps putting himself in stupid situations. It's crazy how he and Antonio Brown have imploded after being considered the best WRs in the NFL a few years ago.

I too believe he is bipolar. What I do not believe is that nobody in his circle of friends and family has asked him to seek help. He's not new money or from the hood. He comes from an educated family with access to services. I don't blame OBJ for being sick...that's stupid. I blame OBJ for not being accountable for his actions and seeking help. Hopefully, a warrant is what he needs to redirect his life rather than hitting rock bottom. I agree. His behavior is his own responsibility. He is in charge of himself. But if he doesn't know he's sick, he can't very well know he needs help. It took a total nervous breakdown before my family member finally talked to someone and was diagnosed. Very well said Fbomb and I totally agree....unfortunately for Beckham I think this is going to end sadly

It wasn’t a police officer. Just stadium security. "Just" a security officer? Wow, So in your mind, it's all good to disrespect , touch, curse at a "Security officer" because they are not the police? How do you know that "security officer wasn't an off duty cop or a retired special ops soldier? The "rent a cop" tag is laughable & ignorant when in reality, many security officers tend to be retired cops or military personal & just like the idea of still having a job after retiring that still has em in uniform. Granted there are those that never served or were law enforcement & wanna play cop & you can almost always tell who they are due to the ragtag way they maintain their personal app both physically & uniform wise. Cops & military will almost always maintain a pro appearance & be squared away as security officers. Either way, OBJ had zero right to physically touch that security officer in any way, shape or manner, period! Stop making excuses for that attention seeking whore.

I agree, the rent a cop tag is laughable; if you need a title - whether law enforcement or military - to command respect because you are unable do so otherwise, all the titles in the world ain’t gonna help you and sure a hell ain’t gonna garner you any respect. Perhaps that’s why many of those types gravitate toward those professions in an attempt to compensate. It’s a part of the reason for the erosion of respect for many of those jobs.

its not about what should be a enough ti consider a warrant
its not about whether the cop should have been in a locker room
its not about slapping a cop on the butt
It is about OB doing stupid stuff again and again and again and again. Look at his reaction after he slaps the cops butt. He looks like he is being a total douche bag. I'd bust his ass too.

So if you were in his shoes, you would have done "nothing"? So then the next guy can come by & smack you in the ass the next day, then the next, then the next cuz ya know, it's no biggie, right.

I wouldn't have turned it into a national story by having an arrest warrant issued. Law enforcement is supposed to de-escalate situations...not blow them up. We don't live in a police state like the former Soviet Union. There is a thing called judgement.

He did de-escalate. Did the Cop put his hands on him?. and OB should keep his hands and stupid attitude to himself. Check the video and his idiotic reaction when the cop turns around. I would have belted his clown ass.... Screw him

No, law enforcement's job is to enforce the law, hence the term "law enforcement. De-escalate is when you are called to a scene where a guy has a knife out & you try & de-escalate the situation by talking him into dropping the knife. That's de-escalating. Bottom line is, you don't touch a Cop/Security officer...ever.

If the officer was a college campus police officer they are the same as a regular cop. They can arrest you, have full police powers and carry weapons. At least that's how they are in NJ.
Of course the whole matter is foolish but Odell being let off the hook is just enabling his goofy behavior. No accountability due to his being a star athlete. His whole life has probably been this way since he showed athletic ability far above normal.
Typical the way star athletes are treated and is to blame in part for their immature behavior.
Rich kids get out of trouble the same way when their parents show up with the high priced lawyer.
Odell definitely has some mental problems that go beyond immaturity. He's not a bad person so I'm glad cooler heads prevailed in this case.
The Browns should get him in therapy.
Antonio Brown has much more serious issues. He's bad.

I don't care what he says getting traded from the Giants crushed his ego and going to Cleveland sucks which pushed him over the edge...or further over the edge. I remember when we drafted him and I found out Shaq was his Godfather I really thought he would be well groomed and well prepared for the money and fame, but that was not the case. We know that just about everyone in his life were athletes, including the family friend coaches from LSU that our team brought on special for him. But maybe with his sky high abilities that were apparent early, he was just prodded and applauded on that, and the odd traits were overlooked.

In my view..the reaction of the security officer in filing the=is charge...was VERY soft.
I see that he's changed his mind after calm reflection....good for him. I guess he realized how ridiculous he was being.

When it comes to striking an officer, especially in front of other officers and witnesses - is it then something that's up to the officer to pursue or not? I would think it is a crime that is not retractable.

How OB acted when the Officer turned around is what I would have have totally busted his ass for. Not busted in the sense of arrested but I would have been all over him and his stupid attitude. OB is a first class joker.....he deserves any crap he gets because he brings it all in him self

OB is a first class joker.....he deserves any crap he gets because he brings it all in him self It's a bigger deal because someone in a similar situation could have been shot, or an officer could be up on excessive force charges. This is why bystanders are cautioned to stand back, during police/civilian altercations. This is why examples need to be set, and have, with those who might garner imitation. Those incidents a half year ago, where officers were being sprayed with water, were pursued seriously. You can't have it, and people need to be reminded why.

Being a clown is not punishable with imprisonment.
