I agree. I like this hire a lot. Feels like we’re building a real staff. Dallas will justify McCarthy and we will justify Garrett. One thing is real clear Garrett will be very motivated to turn this offense into a winner. The team needs excitement and high energy. I believe he will bring it. Still a little weird though but he is kinda a Jersey guy so that helps. Garrett will definitely help energize the offense, plus he’s a proven QB developer. He’s an ex-Giant, “once a Giant always a Giant.”

My biggest question is why did the Dallas offense take off under Moore after Garrett was calling the plays for years? My take is that it was new and people couldn't prepare for it. My guess is they won't put up so many points next year. Also, as we have seen here lately, it's tough to be the HC and call plays. Mac and Shurmur both took a dip in production when they went from OC to HC, because wearing two hats is tough.

I like the hire. Experience, good track record, class act, should be a good teacher of players, should be motivated to beat the Cowboys.

Man Go to BBV and watch the negatards come out of the woodwork killing this move... I swear to God you said the same exact sentence after Judge got hired. BBV and Negtarda. Maybe you shouldnt be on BBV. Ita better than Kitchens. Probably not as good as Shurmur.

Ok....once a Giants always a Giant I guess, right? I wasn't thrilled that he was being considered, but now that he's here I'll get behind him and hope for the best. Welcome, coach. I'm really excited about the possibility of Callahan. Hope it plays out. Same here bro. What’s the old saying? Don’t cut off your nose to spite your face? I said it in another thread. We needed experience on this coaching staff and if we were Going to hire a former Dallas coach I rather Philips. However I think we could’ve done worse

Moore actually added a modern edge to their offense in some ways(more of the jets sweeps, ghost motions, some air raid elements) One thing here ... I think Garrett is from the Coryell school ... This passing attack is kind of a distant cousin to the WCO in in that both are timing based passing attacks (people forget Walsh and Coryell were on Sid Gillman's coaching staff on those 1960s Chargers teams that first introduced timing based concepts,Walsh basicly made it more a ball control version) Garrett has also been around the Erheardt/Perkins system under Saban in Miami.. Now the key is to hope he can mold plays and the system to what we have..

It's not complicated. I was one of many who did not want Garrett as the HEAD coach. Most of us wanted a "CEO" type HC, and that's what we got--with a big dose of attention to details. Although I didn't want Garrett as our HC, I really liked the idea of a experienced HC(for an OC) with not only QB playing experience but experience with young QBs. He should be highly motivated. It's been said this is a Judge hire. If that's the case then what an additional impression Judge gave us--being confident and secure enough to add an experienced HC. This is a former HC who has amassed a winning record. To me this says a lot about Joe Judge wanting to build a winning TEAM, not just the players but the coaching staff is well. I feel Garrett is of the personality that he will not make it difficult for Judge to seek out HC advice. I sense a true synergy coming together. Now lets go get Callahan for OL.

Why does anyone "have" to backtrack? well some said ." He seems to lack in the inspiration and motivation department. Just say no, to Jason. Some said no chance in hell he coaches here. "Some Said?" Kind of like "Many Say," or "People are Saying?" These are terms weak minded people use to make their case. Can you provide any links where actual people said that? Instead of BS'ing that any peeps actually said what you believe?

I believe he picke up his horizontal offense from watching Gillman's Chargers practice. He modified it by creating timing patterns, pre-snap motions and option routes and coupled it with a Power run game. He did coach the Chargers and that is were the famed Air Coryell system came from or the original WCO before Walsh's horizontal offense took on that moniker. Walsh was not on Gillman's staff either it was Al Davis, Walsh's mentor .

It's really the only move that made sense if we're talking about getting someone with experience to make up for the head coach not having any.
If Callahan comes, we're in business.
lol, Shula.

Not a fan, won't even pretend like I'm a fan but I hope he proves me wrong and does well here
Don't like the Cowboys BUT offensively under Jason they was always a very PHYSICAL Offense led by that Offensive Line and Zeke Elliot of course. Also use their Tight Ends a lot

His overall knowledge of not only the NFC East but whole league as well is an extra bonus. His insight should be beneficial . . . but we need a lot more players to make this work well. Focusing only on offence may get him back to his roots.

That link has nothing to do with your post. And we pretty much call each other out all the time here. what do you mean it has nothing to do with what i said about fans hating the idea of hiring garrett before he was hired. In that thread. " I don't like this if it happens. He's only won this shit show of a division 3 times and went 2-3 in the playoffs as a HC in 10 years. And I don't think he's much of a "teacher". He never got the most out of the talent on his roster, imo. Don’t want him. He was a crap QB and he’s a crap coach. We need better. We deserve much better after what we have been through. I'm on board with this hire. Garrett has owned us the past 3 yrs & the games weren't even close. He knows Dallas inside /out, so I think we will be as prepared to face them next season & not be looking like chickens with our heads cut off when a WR is running down the field 20yds open for easy TDs like they did on opening day this past season. He will utilize SB in ways that he was not used his 1st 2 yrs in the league. Our TEs should be improved as well. All that said, the GM better improve this D or this O will have to try & score 30ppg just to have a winning record.

Yeah as the head coach you f'n moron. lol ok calm down. But now love him as oc. I think most of us didnt have an issue bringing him as an OC. I would have been pissed if they hired him as HC though. Big difference.

lol ok calm down. But now love him as oc. He was the last guy I wanted as the HC, but I'm good with him as the OC. Much different. Lol just seen this. I feel exactly the same way and I think a good amount felt this way as well. HUGE difference obviously bringing him as OC instead of HC.

To be fair alot of HC's have owned us the last 3 years including Pederson who is number 1 on that list. That's really nothing to gloat about since everyone has been whipping our butts. With that said I'm cool with hiring him as OC.
