I’m indifferent. Let’s get through the draft and see the new product on the field.

I know its so werd. Hopefully it works. Me too, I oddly feel better about the reality than the thought of Garrett as OC. Its funny how having the names David Shula, Scott Linehan, and Freddy Kitchens tossed around as the next OC can do that for a fan.

Just a few opinions/observations: Maybe Garrett gets HIS ring with NYG. Garrett has rings. Now, he could get a 3rd with the NYG. I stand corrected, I forgot about his backing up Aikman. I did remember he backed up Collins in a losing SB. I'm more than pretty sure he would feel better about a ring as an OC than as a back up QB, however.

If the Giants sweep the Cowboys ( long shot ) , I want a framed sign picture of Garrett for my basement Make room. Remember the Strahan quote--"believe it and it will happen!"

the reason I like the Garrett hire is that it makes getting rid of Shurmur easier as far as what Shurmur was supposed to be doing for Jones and his development, Garrett might do a much better job in that area.....

Now as for your other comment about pleasing fans. Well they need to win. Start winning and then fans will trust the FO and their moves.

Good hire. He knows how to gameplan against our division foes. No learning curve.

All things equal, Id rather Shurmur as our OC but that was obviously impossible.
Lets hope Garrett can learn some new tricks.

He got the Cowboys to the Playoffs A LOT !!! and do not give me talent....the Giants offense has oodles of talent with Jones, Barkley and Slayton define a lot.

By every measurable count Jason Garrett was a more successful OC than Shurmur. He also happens to be a far more successful head coach. So in every way he's been more successful than Shurmur.

We're no different but there are some positives with Garrett. In the end at least we have a coach with no clip board and a OC that knows tons about our NFC East opponents. All aside they have to win games and I don't care what methods they use. Air Raid, West Coast this, Erhardt that, but in the end they have to execute on the field. The old Packers sweep was legendary and every team they played knew it was coming but none could stop it. Execution is far more important than methods on Sunday.

That's not true. As an OC Shurmur won best coordinator in football in 2017 with Case Keenum at QB. As HCs? Sure. Give it to Garrett. Although Garrett had the much better and way more talented teams, and still didnt win in the postseason.

There’s talks of Witten possibly joining Garrett in NY. That would look so strange seeing him in Giants blue as a player or coach. At least that would be one less guy guaranteed to have 8 catches and a TD vs us every single time we play them LOL

Garrett's offensive rankings for the years he was Dallas's OC outrank anything Shurmur has done as a coordinator. Him winning assistant of the year because he was able to be great with Keenum doesn't mean his body of work is the same as Garrett's as OC. It isn't.

Not like I'm saying Shurmur blows him out of the water. Both I would have stayed away from. But to me Shurmur would be the better option if not alone just to keep DJones continued learning the same offense where it looked like he was progressing well his rookie year. As an OC. I'm interested to see what Shurmur does with Lock now in Denver.

If I had a dollar for every time I read something negative or demeaning on these boards about Garrett I'd have a nice down payment for that Duramax High Country 2500 I'm fixin to buy !!!!!

That's a TX truck for sure. At least give the Super duty 3/4 ton 250 Ford 6.7 diesel a look/test drive. I have a couple friends with them and they put crazy miles on them trouble free. My 250 Super duty with 6.2 gas has been flawless to 82k so far.

I'm hoping that Jason Garrett was just being held back by Jerry Jones because what I saw the past couple of season was one of the most uncreative predictable offenses in the league. It was basically run the ball on first and second down and then on third down a play-action pass.
Jason Garrett hopefully can channel the man he once was (in particular his time as OC 2007-2010) who had his offense top-5 in the league.
I'll definitely be rooting for him because how sweet would it be if he won something with us and just watching delusional Dallas fans meltdown over the fact that the guy they nicknamed as "coach clap" was able to deliver us a championship.

Why yes, yes we were. Only thing changed from 2018 was the new OC, Kellen Moore. Same OL, same QB and RB, one new WR who was #3 on the Cowboy receiving chart, a 49 year old TE. OC made a difference in his 1st year ever as a high level coach. All y'all harping on the JG offenses of 2007-2010, didn't this coincide with the great Tony Romo breaking into the league? Wonders happen when a really good QB takes the helm. Never ever forget that Garrett had four 8-8 seasons in his 9 years. Granted he did go 12-4 in 2014 but alas reversed the next year at 4-12. Maybe the chemistry will be right there in NY. I know Cowboy fans are thrilled he and his bland, predictable systems are gone.

I wonder if Garrett convinces the Giants to look into signing Amari Cooper?
