What’s refreshing is these coaches want to game plan for their personal. So many coaches want to force a square peg into a round hole. Understand your roster and what you want from a player, and build a scheme that matches their strengths.
Judge is making it very clear he wants teachers and men who want to get better at their craft. Always try and get better at what you do. Never accept that you know it all, we can always learn more.
I don’t know what our record is going to be. But I know we will have a team that’s prepared, focused, and extremely hard working. Now give these coaches some players and the wins will come.

Nice read, and so far it looks like the core coaches are in place now and no time to rest
Now we'll see who may come in via FA and I wonder how this will impact the upcoming draft
For me, I'd like to see the coaches & Getty agree to take the 4th, trade it and turn it into extra picks from this draft class

Can we plz stop the round peg cliches? If square pegs fit in square holes and round pegs fit in round holes, why isn't the head of ##### shaped like an axe?

That even those considered bad at the pro level have no sense, no awareness of who their personnel is and what they are good and bad at individually & collectively and simply do this round hole- square peg thing like mindless idiots? Obviously some are better at their job than others, but sometimes it seems that only us fans think we grasp the most obvious generalities of the craft that these coaches have devoted their lives to and that these basic concepts have somehow eluded their grasp in reaching the highest levels of competition in their respective sport.

For me, I'd like to see the coaches & Getty agree to take the 4th, trade it and turn it into extra picks from this draft class I think that the FA period will give us a better look at what we can expect in the draft. I think it will also heavily depend on what the others teams behind us offer. If Miami offers a 3rd rounder to move up one spot I think we consider it, but what will the Chargers, Panthers, Jags and Raiders offer if anything. Will the Redskins get offers they can't refuse? Will Detroit find a trade partner?
Best case scenario is scaring Miami into a trade up one spot. The Bears had to give up two 3rds and a 4th to move up 1 spot for Trubisky. I'd be happy with a 2nd honestly but two 3rds is nice too. Then scare the Chargers into moving up one spot as well and gaining another 2nd or couple of 3rds. It would take some shrewd maneuvering but we could end up with the player we wanted and a handful of extra 3rds or a couple extra 2nds. I have the feeling we will stay at 4 and just take an OT though lol.

Normally, I'd stay with the pick at fourth but I am really hoping as you have described it... that we can platoon some picks and fill a number of holes with this draft class. Alas, I have the same feeling that they will go with just the 4. Just so want to see the Giants turn the corner in the wins column!

From what I can see is that there seems to be a split in the NFL. Many coaches come in with a scheme and build a team around that scheme, which is what we were doing. Others take BPA and build schemes that work for them, which seems to be what the Pats do. I think both have had success, but I probably prefer the BPA approach.

"We are going to try to fit a square peg in a round hole and make it work" Said no coach ever. yeah because it dosn't work.....but many try Exactly, it wont work. No one would ever say that. So saying the opposite makes no sense to me. Every coach feels that way. Its one of those football chiches that are meaningless. I just find it funny how often its repeated here when Judge says it. Like its a new idea. Im pretty sure Shurmur and McAdoo would say the same thing. "We are going to be tough" "Not forcing square pegs in round holes" "Punch them in the nose"... Judge said a lot of better stuff than those throw away lines.
