Awesome, he can teach EE how to do a simple 9yd curl route, then fall forward for the 1st down. Witten's made a HOF career outta that route. Should just be renamed the 'Witten". NY never could stop that complicated route.

Witten as a coach, maybe. As a player, I'll pass. He looked a few steps slow last season.

He did, but he still made plays. A move like this is Pacells-esque and intriguing to some degree.

I don't think he's ready for a coaching job, but he could be an assistant. I wouldn't want him as a player.

Coach I guess......as a player? Is he worth a roster spot?
Too much Dallas stink on him.
he really isnt needed in either aspect

He'd be no different to me than an Emerson Walls, or a guy like Dave Duerson from the Bears. If they help the team win they will be remembered as Giants.

Depends on how much he costs.

NO! Witten should not play in any other Uniform besides the Cowboys

He is technically pure and physically persistent. I would take him as a player on the cheap and as a TE coach in a heartbeat.
Not sure we have anyone worth coaching up but we still have FA period and draft to come.

I'm not sure he can coach. Did you ever try and listen to him when he was on ESPN?

NO! Witten should not play in any other Uniform besides the Cowboys I actually wonder why Jerry would not retain him as a player for the same amount we would offer, which would in theory, would not be a kings ransom. He was serviceable for them last year.

He was unlistenable, I agree with you there. Even Boog was an upgrade.

Damn shame about Duerson. Anyway, those signings were awesome. I liked Sam Madison.

A “ few steps slower” doesn’t adequately state the fact that he runs like an 80 year old man..... not a chance the Giants signs this Grandpa...he could end up with some gift job in the Cowboy organization since Jerry loves him.

Witten could be in a wheelchair and still find a way to get open against us. And it’s not like we have an abundance of talent at the tightend position. One player hurts himself tweeting, the other one is basically learning the game. I’m not against this, hell he can show our tightends how to play the position like a pro.
Edit: What’s up with the reply on each comment? It’s staring at me right in the face..

Great, now all we need is to play a schedule full of teams with crappy defenses.

Great, now all we need is to play a schedule full of teams with crappy defenses. We’re in luck. Our offense gets to play our crappy defense every practice. Even when they do walk throughs the defense gives up chunks of yards.
