Kind of interesting this popped up as soon as Callahan went to Cleveland. Dont know much about Colombos resume besides playing for the Cowboys. He certainly was set up with a lot of talent in Dallas. He was the Dallas OLine Coach for a year and a half. Assistant Oline coach for just as long right before that. He has a total of 3 years coaching experience. Im not sure why people have a hardon for him.

I feel like 2-3 years ago they were at their peak

I feel like 2-3 years ago they were at their peak from what I can tell, yes. He got promoted to Oline coach when Dallas was struggling and acquired Cooper. The talk at the time was how Cooper improved the offense....no mention of Colombo's work with the oline.

Not sure if I can give Marco Colombo credit for that Cowboys Line
The TALENT they have is what makes that Line so good. Tyron Smith, Fredericks, Martin was dominating players in College and all was drafted in the 1st Round by the Cowboys for a reasons. Even La'el Collins and Conner Williams was All Americans in College. Cowboys do a GREAT job of drafting Lineman, that organization always has
He is a BC guys just like Mara so that could play into his favor lol

Last year they had a top 3 offense probably #1 in the NFC the line seemed as good as ever.

I know they were struggling prior to these two changes (which happened the same week), just dont know which was the determining factor. Im sure it was a mix of both.

Agree and it is easier to work with the type of talent Dallas has wvwn tho when he took over they had several injuries and frederick was battling the Illness the knocked him out in 2018 stink Smith missed time and Martin was banged up to.

In 2018 the Cowboys hired Paul Alexander as OL coach. He did such a poor job that he was let go mid season and Columbo got the job (he had been an assistant). OL play immediately improved. Although Dallas has a lot of $$$$ resources tied up in their OL Columbo made them play together and changed schemes. I'd hoped McCarthy would keep him. Good coach !
