The City of Buffalo & Erie County should not spend $1.1B on a new stadium. The billionaire owner should pay for it. He's just trying to blackmail them. Local gov't can't put the taxpayers in the hole for this. It would set the city back for decades. Also IMO Jerry Jones will veto another NFL team in Texas. If the NFL wants to move a franchise IMO it's Toronto (would have to be a domed stadium) and or Mexico City (20+million pop.)

The Bills will never be anywhere but Buffalo.

The Bills would be huge in Austin. I currently live in Austin and the people here really want a pro sports team. The city is booming and it isn’t a cold, grey, old industrial town like Buffalo.

Last thing he wants is to lose a huge market in his back yard

TV market? Larger than Buffalo. Between Austin and San Antonio next door there is almost 5 million people, fast population growth. Buffalo + Rochester is just above 2 million and the area is losing population because few people want to live there. If I were a businessman I would be looking to where the growth is.

LOL, no it's no t .The Bills cover most of NE along with the Pats and Canada. ahh, point taken. Didn't know Canadians were into football but I can see it with a few big cities close by. Texas already has 2 big franchises...Florida has 3, might just be a threat from the owner.

Sorry … No way the Giants have considered this. They have as have all teams have considered getting into a better place financially. For the G-men this probably occurred about 5 years before the new stadium was built.
I said thought about it perhaps even discussed, I doubt that any actual plans were put in place

This is a negotiating move by the owners to force (influence) Buffalo's hand. Same thing is being done by the Oakland Athletics to the city of Oakland. Yet with everything Oakland has proposed they still might move to Vegas

The NFL is the most mobile league in the world. More franchises have moved to other cities then probably all other leagues combined. I think the Giants are pretty much staying in place, Mara is greedy but not completely stupid. But consider recent moves to to other cities by; Rams, Chargers, Raiders, Titans(Oilers) and Cardinals. Also consider the Ravens were the Cleveland Browns at one point. At least the Colts kept their nickname..
I could also see expansion franchises popping up in San Diego, St Louis, San Antonio/Austin (don't mind Jerrah, throw enough $$ his way and objections would magically disappear) Mexico City (imagine Goodell having to deal with a Cartel type owner - fun) London?? as a start

I’m sure Cleveland’s faithful said the same thing about their Cleveland Browns. Only to wake up, and their hometown team skipped town and called Baltimore their home. The almighty dollar will always take precedence over morals and loyalty.

I see huge logistical problems and unfair competitive advantages for a team in London. Any team playing them from the western US (LA, SF, LV, or Seattle) has an 8 hour time difference and is facing around an 11 hour flight. Jet lag for those teams would be a huge disadvantage even traveling several days early. Not such a big deal for East Coast teams.
Mexico City is the logical choice but there are security issues IMO.
On any US pro teams in Toronto (the only logical Canadian city despite Montreal's population) there are huge obstacles. The Canadian government initiated a bill in Parliament in the 1970's to prevent US pro football franchises on Canadian soil (Canada Football Act) in response to an attempt to put a WFL franchise in Toronto. This was to protect the CFL from competition. There is then the present border issues related to COVID. I personally feel Canada is not real US friendly (I'm married to an ex-Canadian and have worked with dozens). Canada is like that ankle biting chihuahua . . . fearful (of losing their identity) and somewhat resentful of that big bad neighbor (neighbour?) to their south.
On the Bills coming to CenTex I really don't care. Texas is exploding in population and infrastructure and is a much more business friendly state than NY so there are some draws to entice a pro football franchise. Don't think it'll be the Bills. This is a hostage situation and the Bills' owners are following what many teams have done. Hell, Jerry Jones did it to get the Death Star built in Arlington, Tx.

LOL, you guys can't handle a winter storm without the power going out for a week ,Texas is for cow humpers only. It is true though, that businesses are leaving the NE (and Kalifornicate) for more business friendly states mostly in the southern US with Texas leading the way.. There is evidence of these shifts as NY loses Congressional representation and Texas gains. People and businesses are being crushed with taxes and regulations. The electric grid is an issue though. Gotta make political heads roll on that. It is a state issue as the Texas grid is state controlled to keep the Feds from meddling in our bidness any more that they already do. Skrew Wash. DC ! And while there are a lot of cows all over this huge state but with the most beautiful and wholesome wimmin in the US we easily leave the bestiality perversions to the Nue Yarkers if that's their gigs. Texas is great !!!!!!!

I said thought about it perhaps even discussed, I doubt that any actual plans were put in place ............you know this how? Do you have any proff of Mara doing this? A great question. Here is the logical answer to the question I asked. It took literally 10 seconds to find out the OP conclusion on the matter of the Giants strong arming the East Rutherford tax payers by stating ownership did is completely false. Why would ownership look outside he Giants home when there was not one cent of taxpayer money to fund Metlife Stadium. nkamalia.wixsite.com/fin320nfl/stadiumNew York Giants: Metlife Stadium Total cost: $1.6 billion Public financing: None
Private financing: $1.6 billion
Capacity: 82,500 The Metlife stadium is financed 100% by private means such as NFL G-3/G-4 loans, both the New York Giants and Jets, and Metlife who is paying $17-20 million annually for 25 years. The stadium opened in 2010.
